It starts off tomorrow, March 17th, at 12PM (noon) EST. There are a number of matchups, with BioWare facing off against Rare in the first round.

You'll need to sign up for an account there if you haven't already, and then go vote for your favourite developers...

May the best developer win...

Edit: Nobody cares? Well, if you do decide to go over there and vote, remember to be at least civil. Not only are you representing the community, but if you get banned you will lose your vote in that round and possibly all consecutive rounds. It can get pretty heated over there, so just keep your cool and try to be friendly. Posted Image

Is this the Rare of 10 years ago or today? Because at the moment it's no contest.

We need to rally more support for BioWare here. There is some serious competition.

On a related note, Zynga (makers of the Facebook "games" Farmville, Mafia Wars, and the like) have become an unexpected juggernaut in this showdown. The Escapist has encouraged the develpers to rally their fanbase, but Zynga has become legion. In Round 1 they beat NCsoft. Not so serious, but in Round 2 they beat Infinity Ward by a massive margin. Infinity Ward! And now that it's Round 3 they are still going, already with a large lead over Rockstar Games.

We need to not only vote for BioWare, but vote against Zynga so they can't gain any more momentum. Everytime they announce the competition on Facebook they get a spike in votes. They could win the whole thing just because of their legion of followers and not because of the quality of their games.

BioWare vs. Epic Games: www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/532.183025-Poll-Round-3-South-1-BioWare-vs-4-Epic-Games (BioWare has 84% of the votes though)

Come vote for Bioware but do not forget to vote for Valve against Zynga! That disgrace of a "dev" must be stopped . The line must be drawn here, this far no further!

Indeed. Viva Piñata is the only interesting thing I've heard out of Rare since they were bought out.

I'm just curious, if the community bands together to help BioWare take 1st place, would we get another (hopefully worldwide) contest? :D I'll vote for BioWare regardless of course!

I'm surprised that BioWare is beating out Blizzard. I'm even more surprised that Zynga is beating out Valve. Doesn't the former just make bad facebook games?

EDIT: Huh, so apparently all they do for a living is steal. I'm simply amazed how stupid my fellow gamers are.

Valve can't lose to Zynga

That's just absurd!

I don't really even know what Zynga is but I'm pretty sure they're not better than Valve

It is such a close race right now.
There is less than 1% difference in the votes between Valve and BioWare.  I hoping BioWare comes out on top, but their down by 198 votes right now.   Hopefully we Mass Effect and Dragon Age fans can pull out a victory in March Madness this year.
