If, by some chance, you do not have an enabled 'Other Campaigns' button then the threads provided above should be of some help.

Open up Word
Paste the following into word
"E:\\data\\DAO_UpdateAddinsXml.exe" /addins="BioWare\\Dragon Age\\Settings\\addins.xml" /manifest="I:\\Games\\Dragon Age\\addins\\dao_prc_ep_1\\manifest.xml"
Now, change this accordingly to your own drives.
E=My DVD drive, Put whatever your DVD drive is.
I:\\Games = my location for Dragon age, insert your own path to it
With the modifications, copy this text. Open up CMD, right click in it, press paste, enter if need be. The Addon installer will run succesfully. With any luck you can now boot up Dragon Age and select Awakening!
PS. This board tend to double the number of "\\". If you see two \\ in a row instead of one, simply make sure it's only one, as folder paths should be.

@asdasd
This won't work for the OP and myself, since we've installed both through Steam.

Can you try and locate a file called "DAO_UpdateAddinsXml.Exe"
Presumably, if Steam gives you any sort of files to use to install, or leave a trace than that file would be with them. That exe, which executes during instalation behind the scenes isn't working as it should, it's not locating the proper path, which makes Awakening not show up. If you can find that file than you should be able to use the command. I'll see about uploading that file for you steam users if not.

Place that file anywhere, Link to it in the first section of the command and you should be good.

-Make sure that your current user account has write and modify permission for C:\\Program Files\\Common Files\\Bioware
-Run DAO_UpdateAddinsXml_Steam.exe in the folder C:\\Program Files\\Steam\\\\steamapps\\common\\dragon age origins\\redist
-Make sure that you see a 'Result[0]' in the installer dialogue, 'Result[-1]' indicates a problem

If this isn't the case, and it didn't run, than your doing it wrong, go back and try again.

EDIT:
I went through Steam's file verification process. Turns out that there were 7 missing files which Steam then automatically downloaded. Presto! Now it works.

I pop the cd in my dvd - and it just keep spining and spining. Don't have problem when I put the ME1-2 game in or Dragon age origins.
When I trying to locate the cd on my pc(when you go on the start menu and klick "drive"-using Windows xp still), the hole **** freeze's.
I looked at my dvd driver se if there was something wrong there , I looked at the game disc see if there was any scratches, there is absolutly nothing wrong with any of em.
Anyway I got so mad I call the gamestore and demanded a new game.

I apologize for my ineptness with computers but what is CMD? Been trying to get this game to work for days. Only help available seems to be the fine folks in this forum.
