Leliana is a rogue. Bein pokerfaced & hard to read is the rogue thing to do. It's a defensive measure against enemy attempts to anticipate her moves & counter them to defeat her.

Edit: Almost forgot, in addition to the above, it may also be a tomboy thing to do.

I agree.  I'm not sure if it will be funny in-game or not, but the way they edited that sequence is hilarious.

Uh, I never noticed a blank look on her face, really, but every time someone says "She's had lots of practice working on her poker face" I hear Lady Gaga in my head.

She does seem to have that look in several shots, but my guess is that she's probably going to be pretty calm, hence the neutral expression.

Or maybe she's a completely violent, enrage psychopath, and Bioware's trying to throw us off track with the promo images.

I had a reaction to that as well but it was not laugher... it was... Oh My GOD!... I need to recruit her... she will utterly desimate my enemies and crazy chicks are great in bed.

She kind of like a minefield, you don't want to step on her or she'll blow your legs off. She didn't do it for me when she was first introduced. But I loved how she moved and fought in the Sacred Ashes video. Maybe she'll reveal more of her emotional self if the main character wins her trust (or romance).

Leliana's introduction fails for me. Her actions evoke no response other than a introduction from L and a quip from A. I'm hoping this is the fault of bad editing rather than bad writing. I'll just have to wait and see.

I am pretty sure it's bad editing, I feel the same as you do on the matter.  I really wanted Leli to be the same sex romance option before that vid, even though I think it's editing's fault, I've switched over to Morrigan for the time being.

I'll have to wait on the game and see if she is half as creepy as what the vids make her seem to be, but so far my sweet mage will have proper disdain for her and my bitter city elf will be best buds with her.
