Yes, yes, I realize that a number of people are already having this issue. I was just hoping somebody had an ETA on a fix for this before I have to jump onto a character who isn't using items I ****ING PAID EXTRA FOR...

*cough* Sorry, got some rage in my teeth there. But yea, any thoughts or ETA for the console tards like myself who are stuck until this is fixed.

EDIT: Well, according to the FAQ, you wasted your money on the DLC for Origins since the items will mean wasted main character gear. Sooooo, if you counted on items from DLC in Origins, don't bother using those characters for Awakening since if you are in post game, you're totally boned.

Lemme guess, not a single person has any real ETA on when this will be fixed? Because as of right now, all of my characters have things from DLC that I counted on using, IE I be ****ed on at least two characters.

No, I am not in the mood for sychophants telling me to suck it up. This is a level of incompetence in an expansion that dims my hopes for the worthwhile nature of any future purchases in this franchise. While I understand that **** happens, I am lacking sympathy right now so hopefully something will be fixed for the consoletards soon.

Well said. I'm pretty pissed off about this also. The only thing I can access is the stuff from RTO. aside from that I've lost EVERYTHING.

And by that I mean the will to play this game or purchase any additional DLC garbage for this game EVER.

Yaaaaa, I've been pretty ****ing tolerant so far of all this. However, I do expect a certain level of professionalism and craftsmanship. They wanted money for it so they should make it worth the money. If it is an expansion, they need to take into account that we bought **** for the other game that we will continue to want in the expansion.

It isn't hard and it isn't exactly excusable. I've heard people telling other people not to expect much because it is "only" an expansion. Bollocks. They made a big deal out of importing your OG characters so they need to actually do the damn leg work.

Soooooo, I am going to try and be calm while my blood ****ing boils since I just spent 40 bucks and can't play the damn game as I should be able to with the damn gear they made.

Well... I have Kind Of an answer from the FAQ which basically tells me to **** myself. How nice. Thanks Bioware... So glad that my money was well spent and thus I have no reason to spend more on this franchise and I won't be picking up ME 2 now.

Did any of you ingrates even look at any information on what you were buying? It CLEARLY states in the Awakening FAQ that the only DLC items carried over will be RTO. Maybe you should try reading before running your mouth like an inbred.

This is NOT undocumented, it's your own fault if you feel ripped off because they warned people ahead of time and you could have chose not to buy it. But oh wait, that would require you have two brain cells to rub together.

"2.5 – Will my items, armor, stats, etc transfer over if I import my character from Dragon Age: Origins? (Back to top)
Almost all items are imported with your character. The only
exceptions are the Origins promotional items and DLC loot, which were
meant for Origins alone."

It will almost certainly be modded in at some point if it's not patched. That's the only consolation I can give you.

Ingrate?

Are you retarded? What do I have to be grateful for? I paid them for extra content and they made an expansion pack that will ****ing exclude that content, leaving a lot of people completely boned while the PC community will have it modded/patched in apparently four damn hours.

So yes, I will feel ripped off because they can't be bothered to include their own damn content when they make a big deal out of importing characters. All the FAQ says is that you are stupid if you bought the DLC because it will gimp your options for the Expansion.

So documenting that people wasted money on DLC for Origins when it will not usable in the Expansion which makes a big selling point about importing doesn't exactly thrill people who actually bought that **** and now realize they might as well not buy the Expansion...

While I don't agree with the rage Nexus, I do agree with your sentiments. Most of the DLC gear was bought and paid for long before the announcement of Awakenings. I personally feel that since you did pay for the gear, you should have the choice to hang on to it despite the fact you can upgrade quickly. "Shrug" call me a packrat but some of stuff I picked up has sentimental value even if they are simply pixels.

I sympathize with pack rats, no worries.

As for the rage... Well, lemme put it this way. I have two characters wearing Warden armor and wielding Starfang who are now naked and... Post Origins. So I can't exactly go fiddle around and get a decent weapon. So basically I have at least two characters, 60+ hours each, that are nigh useless and people wanting me to naked box can set themselves on fire.

Sooo, I am looking at wasted money, wasted time that I can't get back, and unless something drastically changed, Shifter still sucks.

Meanwhile, I am being called an ingrate because I want what I paid for to have the same value as it should have. They made the DLC, puffing up the new items like a big thing. Then they made the Expansion, puffing up the import function as a big deal. Then they state that DLC won't be supported for no other reason than they say so. Sooo, I have wasted time, money, and a lot of bitterness over something stupid, utterly stupid. There isn't a damn reason in the world to not support the DLC gear they made such a big deal out of.

The icing on the cake is this... It's been, what? Not even a day and PC modders, technically amateurs in the business, already have it taken care of.

If people in their damn basement or livingroom can solve this support issue in under a damn day, what excuse does Bioware have when they are professionals in this arena? Hell, my homies the PC modders probably fixed this problem without even putting on pants like the cowboys they are.

Disclaimer: I have nothing against PC Modders but this less than 24 hours fix for DLC support from them stings my Consoletard ass...

I'd heard that the PC version wouldn't allow you to import anything from DLC, so I unequipped and sold everything, including the stuff I got at Warden's Keep. Turns out you can keep the stuff from Warden's Keep, or was it Return to Ostagar?  I'm so confused. *headdesk*

OP you're funny. Naked cowboy modders, LOL... I do feel your pain. I was pre-warned on this, however, so I've already been prepping my import, stripping her of her nice daggers and selling stuff. :(

Janni: It was Ostagar's DLC that is included

Addai: Well you are better off than I. I could sell **** but it truly seems like such a damn waste. I can't even fathom an excuse to not include it. Smacks of Daddy says so when he just wants another beer or to be a dick. Especially when you consider the Naked Cowboys modders fixing it in under a damn day.

Sooo as of right now, I have two characters that are boned for a decent weapon and a rogue who will need to replace The Edge. This is if I don't just write the whole thing off and take it back. I already called the game store to check on their return policy and they thanked me for warning them about the DLC issue. Apparently they are going to be telling customers so at least my rage will possibly save somebody else a headache.

Ohh right didn't read carefully enough to see that you're on console, I'm sorry. :/

I would much prefer that devs made unofficial patches (or simply mods!) to adress issues faster. I can understand not wanting all the flames/hate that these might generate if they don't work but for one it should work ok 99% of the time unless the engine/game is programmed poorly to start with. I also wonder if the badwill generated in some cases from not having a fix out until 1 year later when the mod community fixed it in 1 week or 1 day is not equally damaging.

Here is the kicker... It isn't a bug or a glitch. It is intentional per the FAQ. Which actually pisses me off more. I could understand a glitch and I could forgive a bug. Hell, these things happen. Just like Return to Ostagar.

But intentionally screwing DLC users over? Really? For no reason that makes any sense at all when some person in their damn livingroom can fix it in under a day?

Boils my blood. I have all the patience in the damn world until I am intentionally messed with.
