I pre-ordered DAO: Awakening and downloaded it today when it was officially released through the EA download manager; it installed fine, and when selecting 'configuration' from the launch screen it shows I have both DAO and Awakening installed.

My problem is Awakening isn't showing up, the 'other campaigns' option is greyed out, and when I considered reinstalling Awakening, it was telling me I was about to uninstall Origins.

I have checked as many of the other installation problem forums I could find, but none seemed to be of any help.

Both my DAO and Awakening are digital copies, however DAO is on a different EA account (it was a gift) and I have limited installations of it left.

Sorry to drag on, but I'm trying to offer as much information as I can :s

TL:DR - DAO works fine and I believe Awakening installed fine (no errors), however it's not showing up as an option in DAO. If it was a problematic install I'm not sure how to go about reinstalling Awakening as EA Download manager says it installed fine.

Open up Word

Paste the following into word

"E:\\\\data\\\\DAO_UpdateAddinsXml.exe" /addins="BioWare\\\\Dragon Age\\\\Settings\\\\addins.xml" /manifest="I:\\\\Games\\\\Dragon Age\\\\addins\\\\dao_prc_ep_1\\\\manifest.xml"

Now, change this accordingly to your own drives.

E=My DVD drive, Put whatever your DVD drive is.

I:\\\\Games = my location for Dragon age, insert your own path to it

With the modifications, copy this text. Open up command Prompt, right click in it, press paste, enter if need be. The Addon installer will run succesfully. With any luck you can now boot up Dragon Age and select Awakening!

I've tried that, but it's claiming I need to have a CD in the drive so I assumed it was only a solution if I had physical copies of the games?

Perhaps it's claiming you need a CD in the drive because you did not change the Path to your digital file, and thus it is trying to acess a file on a CD that does not exist. I see no reason that this would require a Disk. You need to change the command line I gave to point it to the file.

Ah my mistake, didn't have the path correctly entered.

With

"E:\\data\\DAO_UpdateAddinsXml.exe" /addins="BioWare\\Dragon Age\\Settings\\addins.xml" /manifest="C:\\Program Files\\Dragon Age\\addins\\dao_prc_ep_1\\manifest.xml"

entered in the CMD it is now telling me "The device is not ready." =\\

That error also seems to be related to the DVD drive.

Download this file ---> http://rapidshare.co...teAddinsXml.exe

Place it wherever, and in the first section of the command instead direct it towards that file. It's the same file, but instead you have a hard copy as opposed to trying to run it off the disk, which may be causing the error.

Thankyou asdsdasdasd i had the same problem and this fixed it!

Just for extra clarification this is the exact line i used in the command line with all the " still there

"C:\\Program Files\\Dragon Age\\bin_ship\\DAO_UpdateAddinsXml.exe" /addins="BioWare\\\\Dragon Age\\\\Settings\\\\addins.xml" /manifest="C:\\\\Program Files\\\\Dragon Age\\\\addins\\\\dao_prc_ep_1\\\\manifest.xml"

Just subsititute the "C:\\Program Files\\Dragon Age\\bin_ship\\DAO_UpdateAddinsXml.exe" with the location of where you download the DAO_UpdateAddinsXml.exe too

Thanks for the tips everyone - I tried it both ways (running the updater from the disc, and then downloading it and adding it into the code) and it does run, but both times when I ran it, I got an error message saying 'Failed to load XML'. Any ideas?

I'm having the same problem as Trawler. I don't get the "Other Campaigns" option. Following the instructions above, I also get the "Failed to load Addin.XML..." error.
