Does your character have to have to have completed Origins in order to be ported over to Awakenings?
No, but if you do that you can't play that character in Origins anymore.

That's not entirely correct. You can keep playing that character from the save you import, you just won't see any of the progress you made in the expansion.

Nominated for post of the year. Seriously.
I used to dismiss the whole "geez Bioware modders could do that in a weekend with a 24 case of mountain dew code red" as completely retarded. But then this happens.

Thank you **so** much for this - I can't believe that someone at BioWare was enough of a jerk to decide that content like Starfang wasn't "important" enough (never mind that we paid for it and that it's the best bloody sword in the game. Aaargh!)
Thanks again!!

Well, Helm of Honnleath, Cadash Stompers etc were part of Stone Prisoner, which was a DLC. Basically, my Rogue seems to have kept all items from that DLC, including Dead Thaig Shanker, Blood Gorged Amulet etc.
Actually the fact that the items from the Stone Prisoner carry over has been already reported by a few users (I wonder why it was never officially confirmed). However, without Kigen's mod the items from Warden Keep and the Blood dragon armour do not carry over.

my stone prisoner stuff didn't transfer over. My warrior was naked when I imported, and I was like "wtf?" so I jumped back to DA:O and switched to non-DLC gear, and re-imported.
There is no armour in the stone prisoner so if you were naked it didn't come from the stone prisoner.
The stone prisoner items are: Shale's items (probably useless without Shale), Blood-Gorged Amulet, Cadash Stompers, Cord of Shattered Dreams, Dead Thaig Shanker, Harvest Festival Ring, Helm of Honnleath, Olaf's Prized Cheese Knife and Wilhelm's Magus Staff.

Helm of Honleath and cadash stompers are armor?

Ok, they can be considered as armor but you are not naked because you have no helm or no shoes.
