Hey there guys,

It's my first time playing through this fantastic game, but I'm stuck at a point and could really use you experienced players' help for it.

Basically, my quest is this: I'm at the Landsmeet. I want to make Anora rule as queen, alone. However, that option never occurs to me. The different scenarios I have played out always ends up the same; I always have to fight Loghain and either face choosing to execute him, or, as Riordan proposes, bring him to a Joining. Whatever I choose, it either ends with Alistair automatically being crowned king (it's a cut-to-scene, i have no say in the matter) or he gets so outraged that he leaves.

I want keep Alistair alive, with Anora ruling alone. That's my main goal.

(I don't know of how much relevance it is, but I'm a female City Elf.)

Please, any aid or assistance is welcomed! Thanks guys.

Odd. You should be given a choice between giving the crown to Anora or Alistair after you execute Loghain. As far as I know, Alistair only makes the choice for you (declares himself king) if you start seriously considering making Loghain a Grey Warden, and only if he's hardened. Try the mission again, and when you have the choice of whether to execute Loghain don't argue too much with Alistair about whether to induct Loghain, just tell Riordan that Loghain must pay for his crimes.

I had this exact same problem. If you let Alistair kill Loghain it "toughens" him up a bit more and he'll end up liking the idea of being king and say yes to Eammon before you have the chance to vote. I've managed to have him NOT say yes if I let him duel Loghain and kill him at the end of the duel - but I did tell him I was going to support Anora and take a hit to approval to do so. I'm not sure if you can let him duel Loghain without telling him you're supporting Anora - he might still say yes. But the surest way to make Anora queen is to duel Loghain yourself (or have someone other than Alistair do it) and then kill him yourself.

Thank you so, so much for the help! It assisted me indeed.

What I did was to tell Alistair before the Landsmeet that I supported Anora, then at the actual meet, I dueled Loghain myself. When it came to executing him, Riordan stepped in and suggested that he be put through the Joining (and Alistair gets all !!!) but I declined, and slew him with my own character. After this, it cut to a scene where it was said that Alistair should be king (and here was where I had the trouble before, because I never got to have a say in the matter) but this time, I was allowed to choose between Anora and Alistair. I chose the former.

Once again, thank you for your help   Maybe this will help someone else, some day.
