I have been using mine for like 15 years. I wanted something amusing and somewhat ironic, and I figured sloths are about as far from doom as you can get. Of course, the common misconception on the DA boards is that it is in reference to the Sloth Demon from DA.

Somehow my explanation seems trivial next to Lilith's wall of text.

Oh, you MUST see this, then...
SLOTHS!

Silly Hulu isn't available outside of the US, but I know what clip you are trying to show me.   Realy, really funny.   A CSS server I used to play on had a snippet from that clip play whenever I joined the game. :D

Is not a closed thread enough to tell you not to go on being mean and making a forum, that is most of the time nice, calmed and friendly a Tartarus again? Whatever, man, whatever, but it´s not fun at all.

For my part; Statulos is my "war name" and the closes version in Celtiberian to my actual real name. Unluckily, there´s a huge lack of knowledge about the ethimology of Celtiberian names and the few preserved words, but considering the links, we may suppose that the name has semitic connections and thus, it may mean "small one".

That's pretty cool. Seems like you (and others, like Lilith) put some real thought into your names. As opposed to, you know, using the same name they used for a video game characterImage IPB.

It´s the name I use when I reenact and it makes me feel confortable among strangers. I keep others for closer people too, like everyone I guess. =]

Lilith is far, far deeper than mine. That name is very possibly the "main unnamed character" of the Satanic Verses in the Qu´ran...

Well my name comes from the SW:TOR forums, it is a mockery of those who use the titles Darth or Mandalore in their usernames, also it gets up hardcore Star Wars fanboy noses because it goes against Star Wars lore for a person to have both titles or something like that.

Ya I think I have been using addiction for about that long also, not sure how or why I picked it honestly.

Also with that avatar I always mistook you from the babyruth loving sloth from The Goonies...

It was the name of my first character in Knights of the Old Republic. When I signed up for the forums at about that time, I couldn't think of anything, so I just used that.

I kinda wish I hadn't, now. It is really quite boring.

Name is Chris. Am an Atheist. Since my given name means "bearer of Christ" i decided to have a little fun with that and made a pun. If you pretend the 5 is an s, that is.

Don't be a ****** VB. That crap between you and LIlith is best left dead.

See, I used to do that. For years I went by Inanna elsewhere. Thing is, any name of significance is often already taken. Especially if it's drawn from any well known mythological figure. I dislike having to tack on numbers to my name just to use it too, so after awhile I decided not to bother. I agree on principle though. Those names tend to be more interesting; particularly if one recognizes their origin.

@Volus Biotic - You should let it go. Seriously. That mess is dead and buried. What you are doing now could be considered harassment if it persists.

Ok, my nickname  ''Woldan'' dates back to Baldurs Gate 1, I was creating a new character and WOW!, it just popped into my head.
In every RPG I played since I used this name for the main character, I also try to make the characters look and behave all the same. (I am the char after all) So I actually play all RPG's with the same person.

And I tell you, this poor character went through some serious sh!t! ^_^

@Capt. Obvious - Your name is a bit funny. It needs more of a pirate-y portrait to go with it, though. ;)

Luc is my real name.

During my holiday vacation in Spain one of my friends thought it was funny to call me Lucos, because he thought it sounded Spanish (don't blame him, he was drunk).

So Lucos became my real life nickname for a long time.

Eventually I started to use it on boards and in online games.

But on this board somehow the nickname "Lucos" was already taken (damn that person who ninja'd that nickname from me!), so I tried "Luc0s", which was still free to use.

Tim is my real name... and because I was blonde when I was younger (but my hair turned brown on its own) and I had braces, everyone called me "Timmmmmeeeeehhhhhh" from South Park... so I made it up to Timey.

Usually my username is Timey16 (a random number) because Timey is very often already taken... and if even this name is taken, I choose Timey254, as for the April 25th is my birthday date...

Not a very original name, but I suck at inventing names... I guess I will go with DividedByZero in the future (wohoo IT-joke).

Ruka is my real nickname and 13 is my favourite number.

I usually go by Alquer, which is an anagram of my real name, everywhere else but my friends told me to be original on this forum =P.

Wish I could change it though...

Cheers

When I started playing Kotor almost 6 years back now (hard to believe it's been that long already!), I got stuck in a spot in the game and googled it. I ended up at Lucasforums for the solution. I decided to create an account there because I really liked the Kotor community. Carth Onasi is one of my favorite Kotor party members, so I decided to have Onasi in my name. I couldn't be Jedi Onasi (that was already taken), so I played around with different sounding names and Jae sounded the best of the bunch. It's become my gaming/screen name all over the place.

Name and initials. Considered flipping it to "Mr. C" but then I'd be mistaken for a man.

Amber is a nickname IRL. Amberyl is the fantasy version of that, and the name of my first PC in a campaign world created a long time ago when I first started with CRPGing. Ravenclaw is supposed to be her Elven family surname.

... though admittedly either name isn't very innovative. I later discovered that I had probably unconsciously cribbed 'Amberyl' from a minor book in the Dragonlance series, and amusingly enough the only thing worth mentioning about that character is her dubious honor of having done the horizontal tango with the big anti-hero of the series, Raistlin Majere. And, of course, it's obvious where I'd pulled 'Ravenclaw' from. Nothing is original these days. :PImage IPBImage IPB
