Kinda. U get some references from what your choices were from Origins and and u can see some the of Party members u had at the end of the game. U get all the items u had from Origins (except Dlc but u keep RtO items..) and ur at the same level. Thats all i incountered so far..but just remember, Im about 4 hours into the game. And thats the beginning of the whole story cuz I take things REALLY slow and do all sidequests. I am a major completest. But yaa.

I believe your epilogue card will be somewhat specialised; mine made references to a romance and such.

Plus your weapons are most likely better than what you start out with. Im a good few hours into my game and I'm still dual wielding merc's sword and duncan's sword. Thanks again bioware for letting us keep them!

Dude the game is still pretty cool regardless. We beat that horse to death we at least got to keep the swords and they even gave us a chest to store all our items again. Btw didn't find till like 3 hrs into the game!

Thanks folks. I'm still debating on whether to get the Awakening expansion or not. Is it worth playing the Return to Ostagar first?

Play Return to Ostagar for its feeling of closure, if for no other reason. Plus, you'll find Cailan's armor and shield, Duncan's sword and dagger, and Maric's sword. They're all worth having, especially fitted with good runes.

Maxxramas, you should have held on to Cailan's armor. It's a bit better than the Blood Dragon Armor, iirc.

TOTTALLY play it first.  If nothing else you get Calien's Armor PLUS his Sword and Duncan's Sword n Dagger!

While you won't be able to bring Calien's armor with you you can tottally bring his Sword and Duncan's Sword with you.  Personally I'll tell you right now I'm a few hours into my game and I still have those two very same swords still equiped to my main character.

What do you mean you can't bring Cailan's armor? It's imported just fine into my playthrough...

Didn't on mine but then again I had Alistar wearing it at the end of the game so it never shows up.  LoL I was super pissed when I didn't have access to the Legion of Dead armor in my game from my previous Origins but Oghren showed up wearing it (as he did again in my end game).  So more advice anything you want unequip from party memebers before the final battle cuz they will leave with your stuff lol.

That's unnecessary and makes the Archdemon battle needlessly difficult. It's best to simply do the unequipping in the epilogue save.

A new warden started for awakening will be missing: +21 stats from the fade, +3 stats from the collectors edition tome, +3 stats from the tomes on merchants, +1 skill point from the memory band, +3/4 talents/spells from tomes on merchants/Redcliffe. Oh, and possibly up to 7 more levels.

Unless you just want to see the dialog differences, you should import, run the circle tower, then run around the world collecting books. Finish off Redcliffe as well if you're a mage. If you import a character at level 18 or less, you're still given the Orlesian Warden's starting gear as well.

You get a better character when you import from DAO:

- High level: DAO character can be lvl 25, Orlesian Warden only 18.
- Start with your DAO equipment and money.
- The DAO character will have higher abilities and more skills due though the Fade Section in the Circle of Magi and the various skills books.
- Get many references to the choices you made in DAO. The Orlesian Warden get's the 'canon' backstory.
