 If we convince the council to mobilize the militaries and create alliances with the terminus systems and resolved the geth/quarian conflict and elevated wrex and the rachni queen and did all the stuff you can do to prepare for the reapers but it turns out they actually are flying in from dark space and it takes them thousands of years to get here.  You'd be labeled an alarmist and all the work you did would go out the window at the end of an asari lifetime.  Then the reapers show up and kill everybody, making all your hard work meaningless.  

That would suck.

I'm starting to think that they'll be no big Reaper battle. I think you're right, that they're gonna take forever to get here so Shepard's gonna have to find something to dissuade them from returning.

I know this thread is something of a joke, but if you read the codex entries on Element Zero cores, you'd know that flying all the way from "dark space" without any planet to discharge on would cause the Reapers to self-destruct before they even made it half way here.

That would be true for Council and terminus ships, but we know too little about reapers to assume one way or the other.  Its possible they have a hyperconductive battery cell system that they store the excess charge in while they travel.  Honestly, that's what I'd do if I had that option and I don't know why they don't do that already.  Seems logical to me. 

But you are right, this is a joke thread, so it really doesn't matter.
