Why don't game systems Charge the Wireless controllers when they are off?

The way I thinking about it they can turn the usb ports into dc adapters when the systems not in use. It is very frustrating to unplug your controller form the system,  sit down and the controller turns out to be dead. did the

Yeah, it's the same deal with wireless mouses. I have a razer mamba and it doesn't charge unless my computer is on.

There are some motherboards that have an option in bios to turn on Usb when the computers off.

Well, the 360 will go into standby mode and continue to charge your controller if you have the plug and play kit plugged in. You can also buy usb chargers for pretty cheap. I've got like half a dozen of the things lying around just because they seem to come with any piece of electronic equipment you get these days..

I agree. I like to play with the wireless controller on my PS3, so I'll have a great gaming session all evening and then when I'm done, instead of turning it off, I have to plug the controller in and leave the thing running all night. It is annoying.
