Thanks for the link, ejoslin. Now my trip to the silverite mines won't feel so kinky anymore.

I just went through this experience, so I thought I'd share what happened to me (and bump this thread) so maybe the devs can figure this out. When I first went to the silverite mines with this current character, my character spawned naked (which seemed odd), and the fabled "4th experimental subject" was nowhere to be found. In that case, I did NOT have a save prior to the mines, as all my autosaves were used up re-examining every inch of the place. Subsequently, I chose to restart Awakening.
The mines, round two: This time I was prepared. At this point, I was still working under the assumption that this was an isolated incident, and something that would resolve itself on the second time around. This was, sadly, a mistake. However, I had purposely saved JUST before getting captured, both inside the mines and out, to do a little testing.
My game has no modifications except the available DLC from BioWare.
My Gear: Kallak (weapon), Partha (shield), Helm of Honnleath, Wades' Superior Dragonbone Armor (set), Spellward (neck), Lifegiver (ring), Tingler (ring), and the Girdle of Kal'Hirol (belt). - In addition, I had the Beastmaster crossbow on my second weapon set.
Test 1: Fully Equipped - Character spawned naked, inventory intact, 4th experimental subject missing, merchant chest empty.
Test 2: Main Character Naked - Character spawned in clothing, inventory missing, 4th experimental subject present, merchant chest full.
Test 3: Main Character with basic armor tier 6-8 - Character spawned in clothing, inventory missing, 4th experimental subject present, merchant chest full.
Test 4: Fully Equipped - Character spawned naked, inventory intact, 4th experimental subject missing, merchant chest empty.
Test 5: Main Character Naked - Character spawned in clothing, inventory missing, 4th experimental subject present, merchant chest full.
Near as I can tell, it has something to do with particular items which you've equipped; it's probable that the items which trigger the problem are "unique" type items which came from either Origins or the DLC. I could test this further, but I'm really REALLY tired of this mine at this point, and I know how to keep my gear - Strip down just before the Architect captures you.

I had the same problem. I went into the mine and complted everything normally and I lost my equipment for my main character. I searched everywhere and couldn't find it. I saved before entering the dragon fight and tried again without any luck. I went to Vigils Keep after killing the dragons and then returned to see if I could find the equipment, no luck.
I then took someones advice and replayed it when entering the crypt. I had saved a lot of times and selected the one where I met up with Velanna and then defeated the ogre and darkspawn just in front of the crypt. Afterwhich, I took off all of my aromor and weapons before entering the crypt. I then entered the crypt and completed everything until I got the the chest with the parties equipment (which was empty the first time that I played it). This time it was full with my main characters armor, weapons, and the parties misc. items.
I would have been very bummed if I couldn't get it back. Thanks for the advice.

This is such a dumb bug, how are people supposed to know about it before it happens, I lost everything. Its been almost a year this should of been fixed. Its not even a small bug its a huge bug that happens frequently.

All you need to know is this- if you wake up wearing nothing, your stuff is gone. Reload from before entering the mine, unequip stuff, try again. If you wake up wearing normal clothing, progress as normal, your gear should show up in the chest or on the experimental subject. If you unequip everyone's equipment and have it in your inventory, it makes the experimental subject much easier to kill...

Becaue DA:A uses 4 autosaves I dont bother indiviually saving unless i'm switching the game off.. so by the time I realised this bug had occured, all 4 autosaves were post-bug, and my only pre-bug save was from about 4 hours earlier.. I cant be bothered replaying 4 hours of game just to get my stuff back, I'm uninstalling. Screw bioware, what a pack of chumps. They could fix this if they wanted, but they dont care.
