Ok quick update on my side. I loaded a save that was right before entering the mine and had the same thing happen; naked with items in bag. I then reloaded again but switched all my equipment to other gear before entering and this time the bug didn't happen. I'm now wearing clothes and have no items. Hopefully I managed to get past this bug.

EDIT: Oh, and a quick PS for Ceridraen: The Silverite Mine is in the Wending Woods

Yes - what happened is that I got a guy that I shouldn't have yet, because I haven't been there. (this is assuming the Qunari you get in the mines is the same one who shows up at the Keep.) I'd done it before on my warrior - this was on the rogue. I got back from Sigrun's quest & found him there. But maybe it's another Qunari.

Ah, yeah that sounds like a bug too. That is the same Qunari from the mines.
Quick little update, when I changed my gear before entering I didn't get the bug and got all my stuff back, so that might be a work around for those of us that have a save before entering. I hope a patch comes out for those that don't have that.

Okay I have an autosave just before the Experiment 3 + 4 show up. Experiment 4 does not show up and I have reloaded about 8-9 times. I have now decided to put this save on hold until Bioware shows up with a fix.

In the meantime I have started a new game with another character.

BUT DRAGON AGE AWAKENING TEAM PLEASE HURRY UP!!!

This is one of the worst bugs I've ever encountered. I had to buy completely new gear and my entire history of collecting the best gear for myself was undone.

Follow these steps to solve the bug (at any time)

Disclaimer: DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK! Even though I can guarantee it works, I cannot guarantee this will not have a side effect with any mods you have installed (or that you will actually do this right). So, ALWAYS make sure to first make a copy of your saved games!

1) Download and install the Dragon Age Toolset
2) If you have 4+ GB of memory, follow the instructions at the bottom of the first post in this thread http://www.cheathapp...3&titleID=14276 so that you won't get the "out of memory" bug
(if you do not have at least 4 GB of RAM and you get the "out of memory bug", I'm afraid I don't have a solution - Bioware needs to sort this out)
3) Locate a save game that your character has equipped all the items you lost in the mine. We'll call this Source file.
4) Locate your most Recent save game. MAKE A COPY OF IT SOMEWHERE. (save games are located in \\\\My Documents\\\\Bioware\\\\Dragon Age\\\\Characters\\\\CharacterName\\\\Saves (for Awakening the CharacterName should be the one with the number 1 at the end)
5) Unequip all your current items from your main character *** Check Known Issues at the bottom!!!
6) Close Dragon Age if it's loaded, and start the Toolset.
7) Load the Source file (File > Open > Locate the folder of the Source file > Double click on the file - it's the one with extension .das
8) Expand SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR
9) Expand SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR_CHAR
10) Locate and right click on SAVEGAME_EQUIPMENT_ITEMS and select Copy
11) Close the file (File > Close)
12) Load the Recent save game (Remember to make a copy first, in case you haven't...) and expand the same lines
13) Right click on SAVEGAME_EQUIPMENT_ITEMS and select Delete
14) Right click on SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR_CHAR and select Paste (make sure you right click on that one, not anywhere else)
15) Save and close the file (File > Save, File > Close) then close the toolset
16) Load the Recent file and your character will have all the items you had in your backpack plus the items you lost in the mines.

Known Issues: If for any reason your Recent save character has equipped items that are identical with the ones equipped in the Source file, and you put them in your inventory before you applied the fix, the game will crash if you try to do anything with that (or those) identical item(s). Make sure you either don't touch your equipped items or if you placed them in your inventory, either equip them first or destroy them. Identical items may exist if your character woke up in the cell with something still equipped, which you decided to keep equipped. If you had e.g. a Darkspawn dagger equipped and then you bought another Darkspawn dagger, this shouldn't cause any issues, as it's a different item (for the game code) even if it has the same name.

I don't know if this has been posted before, I didn't read the whole thread. I'll gladly answer questions, if my guide wasn't clear.

Bioware: If this is another game bug and not something cause by modding, I am very very disappointed. I praised you in other gaming forums for releasing this expansion so quickly and my gaming experience is constantly ruined by serious bugs. A quick patch to fix this, as well as the +100 Approval bug, and the Self > Any abilities that do not load (and possibly others as well) would be very welcome. Thanks

I thought the bug occurred if your main character's equipped gear could not be equipped by the "experiment" character due to too high strength/dex/magic requirements.

Unequipping all weapons and armour from my main character before walking across the cutscene trigger worked for me - I got it all back in the chest next to the merchant rather than finding it equipped on an enemy. If you wake up in the prison cell naked then you have hit the bug, if you wake up wearing normal clothes it is ok.

I got around the bug by unequipping my gear before walking into the mine.

If this works for everyone, it is a good solution for those who are stuck at that spot. But others continued playing the story after losing their items. The above post will allow them to retrieve them, as if they never lost them, without having to reload and play again from a previous save.

For it to work for me, I put on lower level (DA:O) gear and entered with my good items in the pack. If you wake up completely naked, you are bugged. If you wake up with peasant clothes on, you will find the ghoul and the chest full of your gear.

It seems to bug-out (for me on PC) with Awakenings gear, but anything lesseer, it will work. Of course, this ruins the cut scenes when you see you warden in crappy gear...

The problem is not just the bug. The problem is that there are players like me who did not know they were bugged in the first place. So we advanced all the way until Armaan and the chest without finding our gear. And as a result all our autosaves and quicksave are in the Silverite Mines. And I was rushing through the game and did not expect a bug, and so did not create an independent save.

I'm in the sme situation as the above poster. No hard saves, and all autosaves + quick save is in a bugged Silverite Mine.

There is a bit of a complicated way to get at least most of them back, if you think it's worth the trouble. You can create new saves that will have those items i.e.:
- items that you had from the last Origins save
- items that you can buy with a new character (possibly using  a cheat to get momey just for this) or with one of you other characters who can afford it
- items that you can find from other people's save game files
- items you can "cheat" with the console to get

If you can get the items in different save files in any way, all you have to do is follow the above walkthrough for each save file, making sure you put the items in your backpack or chest before doing the next one.

I know it's a pain, and that Bioware needs to sort this out, but for those who really want their items back, the above is possible to an extend.

Hi this is my second time through the game and I didn't encounter this problem the first time. This time through though I had the same problem as most people in that I couldn't find my gear but got everyone elses back and there was nothing in the chest at the end.

The only significant difference this play through was I was wearing the "Venture" armour and had the "Spellfury" staff and I am playing as an Arcane Warrior. Previously I was a rogue.

After four goes through the mines with no luck I took all my armour off and replaced it with generic gear and this fixed the problem. Using a save before I enterd the mines.

Hope this helps.

I had the same problem with the guy with my gear not spawning. Went through the whole mine and even killed the 2 drakes at the end in this gear I picked up along the way, then no gear. So I asked Bioware to help. When you post the problem it says we will get back to you in 24 hours...took 5 days. Then the response I get is:

"I am really sorry for the inconvenience caused to you and for the delay in processing your request. The issue you are facing looks to be related to the gameplay mechanics and not exactly an issue with the game. I would suggest that you check our forums for assistance regarding this. You can post your issue there and our developers would also be able to take a look at it."

Way to take responsibility for your bugs guys. Just admit it's a known issue and you are working on fixing it.

EA's technical support is infamous for its crappyness. Really crappy. And they have no excuse either. It is not as if EA was some sort of small company that was barely holding on. They are a big company that is too cheap to provide good technical service.

That is worse than horrible :crying:
Having been playing computer RPGs for the best part of 20 years I pretty much expect games of such complexity to have a few bugs, some of which take ages to get fixed, so I always save when entering or leaving a large area, and keep those saves until I've got through the game with that character.  I also have between 30 and 50 save slots per character on top of this, using them in rotation.  Having been burned by bugs in the past and crashes during quicksaves or area transitions (the latter messing up the autosave function) it is (for me at least) the best way to ensure you always have something to go back to.  But I appreciate that not everyone is as cautious as me!

I went back, put all extra gear/potions, etc, in my Keep chest, took off everything before I entered the mines, & that helped. However, it was still bugged somewhat, in that my 'experimental clone' had nothing on & my extra stuff was in the chest by the Qunari I already had at the keep. (I did get everything back... I think) This only happened on my city elf rogue - my human warrior & elf mage were fine. With my warrior (who did it first) everything worked - clothed items were on the experiments, quest & extras were in the chest. I only had the Qunari Extra with the rogue. I'm redoing my mage to get the Sigrun story right - I'll see what happens there.

Yes, many saves - saves much.

eta: in my rogue run-through, an experiment DID spawn (elf female archer, for some reason - my rogue is a male assassin, if that matters. The others seemed in accord, so I wondered) - but though that one could be looted, there was nothing on it. It also spawned in the same fight as the one with Nathaniel's clone-ghoul. (4 & 5th)

Same issue. No experimental subject for main character and no items in the chest by the merchant. Auto-saves are all within the mine.

This is a showstopper bug for me. All the best equipment was on my main character. How about releasing the console command and item codes for adding items?

It was late at night, admittedly, but when I thought I'd lost my shiny new dagger, I almost cried. Fortunately, I'd heard of the bug & saved outside the mine entrance, but it was close & I had to try several times before it worked. (in a not quite right way)

Sarezar's trick worked-you can do it from any save (before the mines of course), especially if you didn't get any upgraded gear, you could just use the Origins save game you loaded for Awakenings.

Sarezar, I followed your guide and it got me my weapons back but none of the equipment. Not sure why, I copied the whole savegame_equipment_items node and deleted before I pasted. I also checked the old savegame to confirm all the items I wanted were there and checked the names of the items in the savegame_equipment_items node. My only guess is that where must have been a problem with loading some item, I guess I'll try it item by item.

If that doesn't work, I'll ask for a refund. That saddens me since I've bought every Kotor, Mass Effect and obviously Dragon Age game that ever came out. I wish I knew why Bioware doesn't just release the console commands/codes for adding items. That would be so much easier than spending my Sunday messing around with Dragon Age Toolset's memory & SQL Server issues.

Check how many "items" are listed in the EQUIPMENT_ITEMS tree, by expanding the [+] icon. If you are fully equipped, you should have 0-8. The "unequipped" save shouldn't have an expandable tree under EQUIPMENT_ITEMS.

Many players told me that it worked for them, but if you did follow everything and it still doesn't work for all items, I can only guess that it has something to do with custom items/mod/etc. If it doesn't work for you in the end, send me a PM and I'll give you my e-mail to send me the save files to try and find where the problem is, if you wish.

I've just experienced the same problem:
Neither did a fourth experiment show up, nor did I find my gear in the chest next to the Qunari merchant.

It's especially frustrating, as I didn't create an independent save file before entering the mine, because there have never been problems related to autosave or quicksave. This way, my last "proper" save was about 4 hours ago... :/

I'm really disappointed right now and I hope this issue will be fixed, soon. :(
I really don't feel the urge to re-play the last 4 hours... For the time being I'll stop playing until this is fixed or until I can "forgive" Bioware and feel the urge to replay the last hours. :(

edit:
I can't believe it, but I really re-played from my last save up to the Silverit Mines! And this time I did a proper save, of cause.
Unfortunately, a second try inside the mines didn't get me my main character's equipment, either. No fourth experiment, the chest next to the Qunari empty, again. I guess I will try again with taking off certain stuff, until it will magically work or until there's a solution offered. Either way: I'll not continue without my gear, as long as I know that this loss of equipment hasn't been intended by the developers...

Lethuniel, just take off all your stuff and you should be fine. You should have no real problem with any of the fights in the mines even if you don't get your main's gear until the chest.
