Why is this bug still not fixed?
Stay tuned, there'll be a micro transaction DLC that'll include a fix for this, and the ability to use the gear from other DLC's we've already paid for, but don't get to use.

That was just 10 mins ago, and I got all my gear back except my main weaponset, I'll do a little more digging tonight and post up a longer process when I get it working.

I kind of fixed it myself with the Toolset. I didn't have a save from before the mines, so I went into the toolset, found the ghoul PC Rogue character that didn't spawn and copied the equipment off him.

Very cool, would love a step by step.

I seemed to have NO problem with any Awakenings gear either purchased from vendors or dropped, so i think it is directly related to any modded gear, or DLC stuff. I can see Bioware NOT spending the time to make sure modded stuff works but seriously DLC gear not working who's brilliant idea was that? Any way there is a way around it just as i said clear the forest then grab Velena and run back to the Vigil drop off all your gear and run it nekid. Not the ideal solution but one that works for the time being.

Edit: I just tried it again on this second playthrough. I put all my stuff from my PC into inventory at the entrance to the Silverite Mine. I left the gear on my companions because they don't seem to be bugged like the PC is. We all woke in the cell with just common clothing and nothing in inventory. Everything in inventory will be in the chest next to the qunari merchant.

Ask, and ye shall receive...I just spent about an hour or 2 testing this, so it should work, but I claim no responsibility for epic fail-ness that may ensue should you do something really stupid.
Pre-Reqs:
- Unequip anything on your character you want to save.
- BACKUP THE ORIGINAL SAVE!!
- Open savegame.das in Toolset
- Navigate to SAVEGAME_AREALIST
- Under each number, look for TAG = "trp200ar_silverite_mine", for me it was #198.
- Under SAVEGAME_AREA_CREATURES, look for TEMPLATERESREF = "trp200cr_ghoul_pcwarrior" or "trp200cr_ghoul_pcrogue" or "trp200cr_ghoul_pcmage"
- Right-Click on SAVEGAME_EQUIPMENT_ITEMS and select "Copy"
- Scroll down to SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR > SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR_CHAR and delete the SAVEGAME_EQUIPMENT_ITEMS node.
- Right-click on the SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR_CHAR node and select "Paste"
- Save the file, close it and launch DA.
- Load the save game, and UNEQUIP everything! Your character will still look like everthing is equipped, but it you will only end up with 1 of each.
- Save the game again, close DA.
- Launch DA and load the save game 1 more time to verify everything is still there.

No. Asaiasai, I have no mods and it happened to me on two different playthroughs. After reading these posts, I got it fixed one time by just stripping my character before entering the mine and putting everything into inventory. Actually, I don't think that caused it to be fixed. I think it is a random thing and my actions were just coincidence to the bug not occurring the second time.

Ah ok so putting your gear in inventory before you enter the mine is just as good as running back to the keep and placing all your stuff into the storage chest? i know for a fact that if you place all your gear into the storage chest in the keep there is nothing for the game to loose but if i can avoid the whole run to the keep thing i wil do that from now on. Kind of sucks that i have to Meta game past this point to protect my gear, this really blows the immersion but i would rather blow the immersion in this small way than to totally loose al my gear and be really really pissed off or have to restart the area again.

Note: I still didn't recover everything from my character, I was missing my rings, belt, and necklace, but I got all my weapons and armor back.
Just as a heads up, I performed the above, and received all my items except for a single ring back. A point I should make about your instructions, you might want to state what save to load. The first time I tried the one listed in my file details as being altered last, but when I tried the process it failed.
When I performed the above on a "slot" save, it went through perfectly.
Cheers for the help.

I first ran into the bug earlier today, my main character went in w/ the whole Hirol's Defence set on and woke up naked with an inventory full of potions and items that were there prior to capture. That time the NPC for my main characters gear did not spawn (no DLC items equipped on main character, no DLC items equipped on party members).
I get a little frustrated and post about here in the forums, then find this thread. Just now I tried the unequip everything trick and it started out OK (woke in clothing w/ nothing in inventory) but when I killed the Experimental Subject carrying Oghrens gear... all it had when I looted was a bloody Health Poultice (Despite having the axe Frenzy in its hands when it attacked and during the cut scene when Oghren goes on about no one touching his junk). At that point I just exited the game irritated more than I have been in a very long time towards a game.
Honestly BioWare... how could this be overlooked? I am usually one of the most level headed customers on game forums, I understand things can go wrong in Live environments... but this just feels... [censored] up. I already got the idea (whether merited or not) that Awakening was rushed into Gold status.... and bugs like this just reaffirm that feeling.
I am just gonna walk away from the game for a while, too much frikkin frustration in one frikkin area... and, of course, that area is a _MUST_ for the plot to advance.
Guess this will teach me to try and 'keep up' with my favorite game developers releases eh?

Luckily, I do have a save prior to the cutscene. I've played with various combinations of unequipping, and it's looking pretty clear they didn't consider Arcane Warrior use of magic for strength.
So, I'll have to blow through the mines again, and deal with the thralls one more time.
Just for completeness, I've also hit the Anders quest bug, and the bug keeping Sigrun's personal quest from activating. Wish I weren't so complusive about finishing games (books, etc), I'd just walk away...

Started again today and took a different approach. I went back to the Keep and bought some cheapo armor and weaps (for rogue) and just left all my sweet gear in my backpack (including rings, belt, and necklace). Played through and got all my stuff back in the end.
One other thing I did do that I didn't do last night was to destroy 90 percent of the darkspawn armor and weaps when I didn't need them anymore to make sure I would have enough space in my pack at the end.
Hope this helps.

Then go down the stairs naked. All your equipment will then be in the chest next to the merchant.

I *never* failed to get back their gear on their experimental subjects.
The only char the bug struck was my PC. Of course, what may make this problematic is I suspect most people, like me, reserve the best gear for their PC and the followers get the hand-me-downs.

Bioware:
How did this bug even survive testing? This is a major bug!
Patch please![]()
Well, they are "talking" about a patch and "collection" infos, with the sheer amount of bugs this could take some time.
Testing? What kind of testing...
This is just perfect, i have no save before entering the mines and my gear is gone (and the inventory ofc). No mods, no DLC on any of my chars was equiped. Of course i had the best gear possible for my char, so what should i do now? Finish the game naked or buying some crap?
I can´t believe i bought this game, gear not showing, some dlc works some doesn´t, approval bugs, approval quest not starting, quests buged, constant crashes and now i´m standing there with a half naked almost useless elf.
After all these great games now this...oh nevermind, out with the disc and waiting for at least one if not two patches and then starting all over again..great. Better save my money on the next game and buy it when it´s totaly cheap and "bugfree". That´s what you get when EA have their dirty fingers into something.
