I'm trying to make a clean run through in ME1 without any romances for my male Shep.

Is it possible to do this by refusing (through dialogue) any advances by either Ashely or Liara or is my Shep better off just not talking to them period?

I don't want to get stuck with a romance credit when I transfer my Shep to ME2.

(I know I can avoid the love scenes in ME1, I just don't  want some kind of  "silent" romance)

I am playing a fully renegade Shep, btw.

Wouldn't it be easier to just turn it off using Gibbed's save game editor? Takes 10 minutes versus 10-20 hours.

Thank you for the quick response.    I'd rather kill Kaiden and I don't want to use an editor, but thanks for the suggestion.

Did you just answer everything as negaltively as possible when talking to them?

You can also take a "not interested" line when it comes up.

I think it turns up twice .. been awhile, don't quote me on that.

After Eden Prime, yell at Ashley renegade style. That always worked for me. And turn Liara down.



Alternatively, kill Ashely and don't talk to Liara.

Thank you.  That helps.   I'll try it out and see.   I'd like to turn Ashley renegade and keep her alive if possible.  

I don't know if it's possible to turn Liara renegade, but she seems to do just fine on her own in ME2, lol.

There's an insta-romance-kill dialogue option for both of them, and you can still go through their conversations.



Ash: When she asks if it's ok to let aliens look around the ship, say "out of line!" on the left side of the wheel.



Liara: Just say you don't like her when she asks.
