Is there a purpose to the stone found in Wending Woods? - (Obviously there is a purpose or else the wouldn't be there Posted Image) BUT: I actually sat there for 2 hours trying to firgure out the puzzle, not even kidding...First off, I'd like to ask: What is the objective? What am I supposed to be doing with the fire clicking it from stone to stone? I'm not looking for the solution, I'm looking for more of what I'm supposed to be doing with the stones. I already got the missing stone from the corpse and put it in the "Octagon-like Puzzle-Thing"..... I haven't finished the Wending Woods Area in the Plot - quest, but I just want to make sure I'm not really missing anything here. Any help on this topic is MUCH appreciated! Thanks guys Posted Image

Figured it out... basically have the rings run around as much as possible before going into the next rung...

The prize was Illumination = +3 to all attributes. ^^

the journal with the scholar that has the stone indicates that you "Must make a path of fire that connects all the stones in a single loop." however since the fire can't overlap any stone that has fire touch it already, I've yet to figure out the "loop" part :P

Was a bit annoying but finally got it! The item was tottally worth the annoyance yet I still felt like "That was it" after I completed it?

The loop part means you need to have the stone you end with be corresponding with the stone you start with, so that it would make a loop.

Did anyone else have one of the stones with a line of fire through it so you couldn't include it in the loops? Like, a line of fire that is bisecting the stone but is not following one of the stone lines? I thought that was there to mark an ending point, but now I wonder if it's a bug. It's preventing me from making any loops.

I didn't make a complete loop, yet I got a reward. Perhaps it has different rewards based on how well you did it?

Okay I was just about to write to complain that I couldn't get it at all yet, and then I got it XD

You just need fire connecting every stone to another stone. I started by hitting the outer-most ring first, then had to alternate what direction I was going in for each circle as I drew closer to the center (so I went counterclockwise around the large loop, clockwise around the middle, and counter clockwise again on the center, then just the last couple of hits to close it up)

At least, I think that's what I did >_>

I do. I came here looking to see if it was a bug or just breaks after you try so many times. Any help is appreciated with this!

It happened after my first time, so I doubt it. :||||||

Ah, this was very helpful! I took a screenshot of my solution to the puzzle and threw some numbers on it so anybody who wants a quick visual reference can get one here:

*edit*
My reward was a necklace, Illumination, with +3 to all stats and +10 mental resistance

Oh god, thank you Destined2Rock! I've been poking at those fires for I don't even know how long now. I'm just spatially challenged, I guess. Yay!

I have this, too. Did anyone figure out what it is? I tried following the pattern in the screenshot, but this broken line is keeping me from finishing it.

Which line is it, Denise? Which two stones does the line connect?

That's the thing, it doesn't connect any stones. Its a sort of diagonal line that bisects a stone in the outer ring right next to one of the pillars. I can't get the stones in the outer ring to light now.

That's... really odd. Do you have a recent saved game you could load from? Or is it just always there?

Okay, I reloaded and the line is gone. I'll see if I can get the pattern now.

That did it! Thank goodness. I've been working on that for about 2 hours. Guess it was some kind of glitch or something..

Reloading doesn't fix this for me. I messed with the puzzle and gave up and went back to questing and whatnot, then came back and it was still there. I'd rather not try to find a pre-wending wood game and undo all I've done thusfar. Still looking for a bugfix. Posted in the Technical forums for the PC regarding this bug.

Gah, I have the same problem here. I follow the screenshot and get about 10 lines that aren't lit up.

(between 4 and 11, 5 and 9, 10 and 17, 8 and 18, 7 and 20, 6 and 2, 20 and 1, 1 and 14, 13 and 3, 12 and 16)

Reloading produces exactly the same result.

However I just tried doing it kinda backwards, and actually got the chest! (even though I don't think everything was lit up)

Did it this way (numbers in reference to the screenshot above):

1, 2, 6, 5, 4, 3, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 20, 19, 18, 17, 16, 15, 14, 1.

At least I think it was something like that, I was messing about a little at the end.

Things to remember/may help those that are still having issues:

1) You do not have to fire on each of the sections! Just need to connect each dot with fire from somewhere. (aka its okay to have sections not lite with fire, as long as the stones have fire coming to and from it... think "connect the dots", not the "make this shape without crossing over the same line" puzzle)

2) You have to end at the starting stone. You make the pattern and your final click will be on the stone that started it all to get the chest (Are those of you still not able to get it to work, clicking on that starter stone again?!)
