you can get two of them, someone drops one and then there is a "quest" aquired one that you can pick up after completeing the marsh quests that will update your journal.

Yeah, that's another sloppy/slapdash aspect of DA:A ... many unique items appear to not be all that unique, you can often find 2 of them ... 1 as a drop, one being sold or found ...  for example, there are 2 Frenzy axes. It's like "oops we forgot we put a one and only item in the game twice".

Only the Ser Alvard's sword at the end of Blackmarsh (can't say where as that's a spoiler) has the quest completion flag with it; the "other" doesn't.

It's the one from the Blackmarsh that I have... I went back to the Merchant's Guild in Amaranthine to report it, but the bloke just said "Good to see you again". When I clicked on the board the quest was still there....annoying !

Next to some of these bugs I feel lucky but this bug is annoying. After I fight the Withered I'm stuck in a "dancing with an unseen partner" pose. In cut scenes my arms are bent out in front of me and I just did a random fighting pose and the animation didn't appear just the sound and the weapons in my hands. I'm gonna soldier on hoping I can still fight like this but it does kinda mess up my game because I love the animations. :(

NVM Went to Master Wade's shop and the problem fixed itself. :)

i loved dragon age origins, but with awakenings i fell like they rushed it keep people interested. i would rather they had kept adding down loadable content to origins. i miss being able to inter act with my party and having a relationship. and never mind all you get is ogren from the original party i miss having my dog along with alistair or zeveran i understand there is suppose to be a note that lets u know what happen to illiana and zev but what abut alistair he was my love interest and was suppose to stay with me. game play is still fun but i would have liked to have more quest and being able to explore armanthine a little more maby back track to some places in fereldan to see the repairs of the tower or denerim. if that was in there i could put up with all the glitches and bugs. i must say i am some what disappointed with it. lets just hope the have patches comming out wit add content.

I go past a BIG gate and NO ONE! i have played it and know that there are people, even darkspawn to kill... I enter the castle then Andraste joins, Orghen isn't fighting... no darkspawn spawning...

HELP perhaps...?

I don't know where else to post this, so to get it off my chest:

It is not the well-known bugs, which it seems will soon be hashed out, that are so disappointing.

You guys messed up the overall game mechanics. After a half-dozen plays of DA:O, I still have trouble on hardest difficulty. DA:A is a total walk in the park. I should be able to turn it up or down for a challenge. No challenge in the gameplay of DA:A whatsoever. Pretty disappointing.

Aside from being able to play in god mode for most of the game, the biggest glitch I hit is the fact that I don't get an autosave after the last scene, so I never really get to claim that last big kill! This got really bad after the title update on Xbox 360.

Finished Awakenings on PC last night. Here are my thoughts:

*I quite enjoyed the story and characters, although it was a little shorter than I thought it would be. Most battles were rather monotonous throughout the game, even on nightmare difficulty, so I might try some kind of difficulty increasing patch next time through. Though don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed most boss battles.

Enough people have complained about the absence of romantic continuity, so none of that. It just would have been awesome is all.

*Bugs: From the sound of it I lucked out, no game-halting bugs or anything. Here's what I did notice...

Graphical:

- At the end of numerous battles, Anders was surrounded by a persistent blue cloud, although I'm not sure what spell it is from. Reloading won't make the cloud go away, only killing Anders or swapping him in and out on the party selection screen does.

- The Architect's face clips through his mask while talking. I play on the lowest graphic's setting, highest texture setting, with special effects turned off.

Gameplay:

- About five or six crashes to desktop, usually while swapping characters in the party selection screen or transitioning to another area. Good thing I already quicksave compulsively.

- Lilith the merchant would reappear after talking to her each time. Thus, I couldn't buy the Grandmaster lightning rune etching and have Wade make the super-duper bow for my main character, who's a rogue archer. On a side note, I *hated* the redundant, tedious rune-crafting system.

- After choosing not to go back to Vigil's Keep during the final battles, the codex updated saying that the companions I left there had died, while the epilogue said the exact opposite. I fully upgraded the Keep walls. Was this on purpose?

OK, think that's all! Good fun, overall.

There are indeed quite a few bugs in Awakening, and many of them ruins the game for the player. But most people seem to agree that the story and characters are actualy quite nice, but the fact that the game was rushed kind of soiled many of the positive things about it.

One thing in particular that I liked was the battle with the "Herp" boss in the swamp. It was (in my opinion) the first boss fight which was actualy a boss fight! Even though it was quite simple, it was a nice change from the usual "Attack, heal, attack, bust some fancy moves, heal, ???, profit!" fights, since here you had to do something different than just attacking the big fancy target.

All in all, I'd say Awakening is a nice story filler, but the gameplay is quite dissapointing. If they simply released a patch which would deal with some of the basic issues, this expansion would become so much more enjoyable, and Bioware would regain much of its' lost credebility.

So Awakening still has bugs in it?! I never bought it, mainly because Leliana wasn't in it (yet Oghren was), they named a mage after a swedish middleschool teacher (Anders) and the tons of bugs reported after release. If they haven't been fixed at this point I doubt they ever will. Let's hope DA2 is better.

Indeed, a lot of people are putting all their hope on DA2, and while I still enjoy the quality of DA:O, I think that if Bioware manages to release a game with as many bugs as in Origins and Awakening, they'll lose quite a few of their fans and customers.

Edit: That is of course, unless they actualy fix the bugs with patches, after the release. Posted Image

I don't think that they have any worries about losing Beta Testers(customers) and the loyal fanbase will continue to cheer in lockstep even if loading DA2 resulted in a blue screen.

It's a 360 bug-Alistair will be King if he's alive. The only way to fix things is to re-do the Landsmeet and let Anora execute Alistair.

Quick question:
Why do I go into Awakening and find I am fighting Darkspawn outside Vigil's Keep, yet when I go inside I hear them loud and clear and yet see none? Also when I meet up with Oghren, he's just standing there, and that's that...I can't go any further until the door opens....?
Help?

I wasn't very impressed with DAII, and let my son play it after a while. I went back to DAO and Awakenings. The only part of Awakenings I can play is when I actually started an episode before this "bug" happened.

After i installed awakening my origins campaign freezes up every few seconds sometimes i can play for few minutes without freezing but then it comes again. When i start task manager after that it unfreezes and lets me play but damn its annoying. Didn't even completed origins campaign yet...
I'll try removing mods or something... anyone got this problem or solution for it?
