Grunt doesn't say Quarians are hard, he says they're - paraphrasing - "less soft". But its not really clear what he's referring to since he was previously talking about how deep you'd have to stab a human to sever the spinal cord, and on Turians comments "I guess you have to work the blade".

The thing that gets me wondering is that they have red blood, so I they have the same blood as humans.

Yeah Grunt's comment is in regards to how easy each race is to kill (how "soft" they are), specifically with a knife.

I assume he's taking the Quarian suit into account, since he'd basically never encounter a Quarian in a fight who isn't in a suit; it's basically part of their physiology now.

They're dextro-amino instead of levo-amino.  So like us, but with opposite protein composition.

Really that just means their oxygen carrier is based on iron. Same blood wouldn't fit - they can't use hemoglobin, since dextrorotary amino acids wouldn't fold correctly (that's why they're actually dangerous to us if they get into our cells).

"Opposite" isn't really accurate. The chirality of amino acids matters because it affects the conformations that they can adopt when they fold. None of our protein structures would actually work if you tried to build them with D- amino acids.

Oh my god I found a very extensive and specifically-relevant-to-Mass Effect article on dextro amino acids.

Ah, thanks.

Not getting to get into an argument because Tali fans will just get pissed because it's not like they picture it. I think Bioware should just not show her since if they do there will be a ****storm.

This...kind off. I'd like to see what Quarians look like out of general curiousity, but it can't be denied that no matter WHAT Bioware does, people are gonna be miffed that Tali doesn't look exactly like what they pictured.

Me? I'm expecting something similar to The Grays, but designed to be more...attractive, whatwith the love interest and all.

So basically an attractive looking Asgard from Stargate SG-1. That's what I'm expecting. Doubtful on hair.

So I guess with that hair
question semi-resolved, the next item on the table is whether or not
Tali shaves.

Yoiur kidding right? Have you ever been in the Tali thread or seen a topic when someone post what they think Tali looks like? It gets flamed to hell from Tali fans. The facts are they have vto be ugly, but they won't because Bioware fears that no one would like Tali then  and that brings the big question, do people like her because of her personality or like how alot of man like woman, just for there looks.

I don't think the general public really cares what people in the Tali addoration thread think, Bioware can get away with it. They should have done it in ME 2 and the problem would have been over.

Make it so she takes her mask off as she dies in your arms. That way only unforgivable monsters would be able to see her face.

Ever wish to see a Zerg Rush in real life? Cause if Bioware has the gonads to pull it off then you just might see one.

Also I heard somewhere that in the novels Batarians had hair, and they apparently don't in the video games soooooooooooooooooooooo

It says they have short hairs over their bodies that aren't visibly noticable unless you are inches from their face or touch them. Like the "hair" on a peach.

Xaila wrote...

I'm pretty sure they're very humanoid.  They seem to be one of the few races that have protruding noses.  Most of the aliens except Asari seem to have them pretty flat to the face.  I'm guessing their ears don't look like ours due to the description in Ascenscion which went something like "what passed for the Quarian version of an ear".

The female quarians do. Male and female quarians appear to be dimorphic. While on the flotilla you will notice that the males have a completely different  facial structure than the females based on the silhouettes when viewed from the side. Males have a more ape like profile. They could have easily given the males a more human silhouette like the females, but made a conscious choice to have two seperate facial structures. Appearantly the females of a species always have to be somewhat attractive by male human standards, but the males can be as ugly as they want to be.

Presumably those erogenous zone overviews and demonstration vids Mordin gives EDI actually include diagrams of what a Quarian looks like. Looked like. I mean, they had to have cameras 300 years ago. How long has Fornax been in circulation?

They have mammary glands, they're mammals. They're also bipedal, so I'd say they look close enough to being humanoid.

Doesn't it seem strange, that an alien life-form from another part of the galaxy has just enough similarities with humans in order for Shepard to stick his pickle into Tali's doughnut?

Nope.
If you're bipedal, then that seems to be the most effective place for doodads.

Would have been a joke if it were made before Shepard was able to have xeno-lovin'.

Now you just look silly.
