Isn't there a way to get tons of paragon from that mission, to the point of getting a full bar? I don't remember the details, but I recall hearing from somewhere that you could get nearly infinite Paragon.

You don't have to do anything. You can miss plenty of points along the way and still get all the paragon/renegade options in that playthrough.
I'm not sure what you mean.
Please elaborate?

Not quite - the ME1 import bonus and the +100% class bonus give you a large advantage over someone who doesn't make use of either.yfhfrg wrote...

But if you're starting from scratch, then you're going to have problems by the end of the game on some of the hardest persuade checks.
It's designed this way because there are different orders to which someone can complete their quest log. If Tali's loyalty mission required 100% Paragon/Renegade, everyone would be forced to save it for one of the last missions. The Paragon/Renegade checks would then dictate the optimum order that you should be completing each mission.

... wait, did you say you still had to do Samara's mission?

Yup, there's a video on youtube that shows how to do it.

But for all intents and purposes this is exactly what occurs!
I do not start with a NG+ character, or a brand new Shepard.
I always import a level 60 Shepard, from ME1; well this last time around I imported a level 51 Shepard.
I've been forced to do the missions such that Thanes, then Jack's, then Samara's missions are done, in that order, last. This is because you need a certain amount of Renegade points, to get the 'i'm a Spectre' option, with Thane's mission, you need a certain level of Renegade points to resolve the Jack, Miranda fight, and apparently, you have to have very high Paragon or Renegade, to get either the Paragon or Renegade option with Morinth, during Samara's mission. I only got that option, once, having imported a level 60 Renegon, and I am kicking myself, that I did not take her, to get 'Dominate' then go back and play it over. But at the time it came around, which was my first play through, I did not think anything about it, and I could not bring myself to betray Samara. Little did I know it would be so hard to duplicate in other play throughs!
So if this is not a glitch, but a 'feature', then I will have to look for an exploit to balance it out.

But then I always pick the class that adds 100% paragon/ renagade points.

What you're saying is I don't get any bonuses paragon or renegade? This sucks Im starting from Horizon, which was my saftey save. I'll do Jacks quest early and hopefully It will be enough. (most of my renegade option i did after horizon.. though not all.)

Yes, that is correct, NG+ starts out with no Paragon or Renegade points.
But as others have posted, when you 'max' you 'passive' skill, there will be two choices for the evolved skil, one of those choices will state that it gives a bonus to paragon/renegade choices, so that is the one you want to select.
If you selected the other, and you want to 'respec', you can do so by visiting the tech console in the science lab.

On my first ever playthrough of ME:2, I failed the check, and ended up choosing Miranda, Jack stormed off in a rage, and I lost her loyalty.
Later on, when my Paragon rating was much higher I spoke to Jack and was able to regain her loyalty.. though I was never able to have any kind of dialogue with her, even though she was 'loyal'... any attempt to speak to her just resulted in her yelling "F off!!" at me.
I'm unsure if this is working as intended, or down to some kind of glitch.

It's designed to work that way, as explained earlier in this (ancient) thread. The short version is that the paragon and renegade bars are poor indicators because they show the points you've got so far as an absolute number whereas game is keeping track of the ratio of how many you have to the theoretical maximum you could have so far. E.g. you have 30 paragon points at a stage in the game where the most you've had the opportunity to get is 40, so your paragon bar has a tiny little bit of blue in it but the ratio of 3:4 means that you're 75% paragon without even knowing it. Unfortunately this can work the other way around, leaving you with a full bar but, unknown to you, too small a percentage to get certain convesation options.AshenSugar wrote...
It's possible to retgain the loyalty of the squad member you 'betrayed'.

But the possible 'glitch' I mentioned is not connected to the Paragon/Renegade mechanic but pertains to the fact that Jack just said "F... off" whenever I tried to speak to her, even though she was loyal. I probably should have explained it more clearly.
