What I know is that when you are naked but the items you didn't wear before are into your inventory you can be sure that you got the bug. So it must be related to the script that sends you into the prison.

Warden commander armor set, STARFANG, Thorn of the dead gods, lifegiver, and 2 other top accesories all gone.. My PC went from decked in the best gear befitting a warden commander to wearing leather armor. WTF!!!!
also make new skins all the armor I see is identical to one another exceot for the warden commander armor. \\
I refuse to continue playing without my gear and all the stupid save points are past the point of restarting before the damn prison.

i was so paranoid of the silverite mine that i reload and went to do other quests 1st...
i hate this mechanism of "stripping bare" in any game....and they always use it in expansion pack or sequels. coincidence?

There should have been an autosave prior to entering the mines. Since it starts an irreversible mission. Auto save for boss fights everytime why not an autosave for a major event where you pass a point of no return?
Rather not have the bug at all but an autosave at that point would have been a small blessing.
edit: Last save before this fiasco was a hard save I made two days ago. So it is not only wending woods but a ton of gameplay lost. fun...

EDIT AND UPDATE: After 4 attempts to make this work (unsuccessful) I unequipped all the "old" Dragon Age items that I inherited that were still in use for my imported character (Key to the City, Andruil's Belt, Spellward, Lifeward).
The game behaved "normally" for me without the old items equipped. That would seem to the the key to triggering the bug (though which item is the offender is not clear to me).

Do you have Starfang in Awakening? I could never import it all of my characters have lost it... It supposed to remain in Awakening?

For those who are complaining that they refuse to go back because they'd lose many hours of work, I'd like to point out that it wasn't that much work. Unless you saved at the beginning in Vigil's Keep, but then did all the story quests without saving.
Also, I recommend a Rolling Save. Pick a number (I use 3, myself). When you save, create a new save until you have that number of saves. Then, every time you save after that, simply save over the oldest save.

LOL Yeah, Victor's Post is two months old, almost 3 months old. No fix yet. Just to put things in perspective, it only took them about 4 months to actually create Awakening from scratch for all 3 platforms.... the whole friggin thing. Yet we're supposed to believe that they're still "on it" --- that they're actually working on fixing this bug.
Maybe Victor mispoke. What he really meant to say is: "we're sitting on it"

They have more than one development team concurrently working on a number of DLC's. That's how they can release 5 DLC's and an expansion over the last 7 months. At this rate, I expect there'll be another DLC release in 2 months' time - say, August 2010 maybe.

3 months and 2 DLC's later means only one thing: They're NOT working on a fix - or rather, they've put no priority on it.

Buyer beware in game software as in anything else. I waited a month or two before buying DA and another month before installing it. Fortunately for me, I also waited a while after patch 1.03 came out and decided not to install it after having read the forums.
Bottomline: it doesn't hurt to be cautious with your money . . . unless you have unlimited money and don't care how you spend it.

I can't believe this bug was killing peoples games months ago and they still haven't fixed it. It just screwed me around big time. I don't think I did a hard save for days before this and I tackled some really hard content that I would have to do over again if I reload. (Blackmarsh Queen dragon with my weak team, it was tough and time consuming.)
If Bioware thinks its just fine and that they already got our money because we obviously already bought the expansion... Think again Bioware, this was frustrating enough that I likely will never risk buying another one of your games ever again. Why bother when there are a lot of other games out there that fun very bug free.
* And just to be clear, I was playing a new mage wearing all gear I aquired in the expansion. I do not like to read spoilers before playing so I had no idea there was a bug in the mine. I didn't clue in when my mage appeared naked in the cells, so I ended up playing the whole mine half naked and wearing vendor trash gear. The Dragon's were very tough with crummy gear. All my quicksaves and auto saves seem to be in the mine and my last hard save was a long time ago.... It really does make me feel like just uninstalling the game because of the pointlessness of it. Now I'm wondering if I should even bother playing my Mass Effect 2 game that I'm sitting on.
