Just make your windows smaller, and put them right next to each other.

I'm not only doing things on the computer. :P Anyway, enough derailment from me. I'll watch later.

I've performed to that song.

And there is only 151 Pokemon. (And let's be honest, they were running out of ideas then.)

Looking at this list is physically painful. When did it all happen?! Image IPB

A Britney Spears song that came out in 1998, over a decade ago. There are adults in the USA who were 6 or 9 when this song came out.

There are people out at a bar or dance club drinking alcohol for the first time who have never heard this song because they were too young when it was popular.

Pokemon came out in 1996 and the cartoon debuted in 1998 in the USA. The average person who watched that show was 10-13. Most of them have finished college.

How many pokemon do you think they could name if asked today?

I could do the refrain to the Spears song, but I tended to stop listening to the radio about that time in my life so my music interests had to grow outside of what the music industry and radio stations promoted - only radio I listened to after 99 was NPR and for about a year in Chicago there was this awesome 80's station someone told me about that I listened to before it got turned into yet another rap station.

I can name Pikachu.  Outside of that, Pokemon is one of the the things that made me STOP watching new anime.

Since I like less mainstream thing from pop culture I´ll state that:

-I saw Sepultura with Max Cavalera. Twice, actually.

-I remember perfectly when Nirvana released Nevermind and I was one of the first guys to listen to in in my city.

-I saw AC/DC sorrounded by people who could be my father and that was just in the Ballbreaker tour.

-I saw Pink Floyd.

And I feel old when younger people look at me as if I were talking about Mozart.

ACDC? Who?
Interesting fact: The main singer grew up near my street. Another interesting fact: nobody knows his goddam name! Brian isn't it Image IPBImage IPB

when did it happen? glad you asked! (actually sad that I know)
The first (or second) game which debut on the original gameboy took place in the Jhotto region which had Its own set of pokemon. That region was never seen again for a while until just recently they made another in that region (this game just came out a few days ago or maybe its not out yet...)
Then the kanto region the one I am most familliar with (arbock, pikachu, charmander, squirtle, and etc.)
after that was the hoenn region.

That is when it all happened...

I was asking a rhetorical question. I grew up playing pokemon. I watched it happen...slowly, the pokemon became less and less original...

Really, was it the voltorb or the electrode that was more original?

(So glad for the anonymity of the internet...  I should not know those names)

From the 80s and was amazing.    Not that new cartoon crap.  (Though I actually liked the 3D movie...)
So don't even start with me, the Turtles rocked my childhood.   (Raphael all the way!)

TMNT... the original series was okay. The ones that followed were all awful and suffered a notable dip in animation quality. I still remember finishing the original game for NES. The one with an overhead map and dodgy gameplay. :P

The first TMNT movie (with Elias Koteas as Casey Jones) was a lot of fun. The arcade game, too, was lots of fun.

I never saw the original comics, but I heard they were pretty good, too.

Outside of that - Turtles, meh. Oh, I thought the recent animated movie was decent, too.
