One thing that I believe LTTP did to revolutionize gaming (I haven't checked to confirm this) is the fact that you could save your progress. If I remember correctly (which I probably don't lol) LTTP was the first game to have a save option.. although, I am probably wrong.

I hate being that person that swoops in with a correction at times. >.< The original Zelda had saving too. It was one of the few NES games with a battery.
