I just talked to EA phone technical support of Dragon Age: Origins (and I assume Awakening).  The guy pretty much diplomatically acted like EA is in denial of all these problems being presented concerning the 1.03 patch and Awakening here.  That's too bad but I'm not surprised.  Since outside of only one crash with the 1.03 patch and that I'm not playing (and won't be) Awakening yet I could hardly go any further with EA's phone tech on specifics--but you can and should I think.  The more the merrier, and as soon as I know BW intentions the sooner I can sit back and wait.

It appears that EA's phone support right hand doesn't know what BioWare's left hand (these forums) is doing and neither BioWare (very disappointed) or EA (again, no suprise) are saying anything here yet.

I did learn that my thinking Awakening on the PC was a large expensive DLC is totally wrong.  It is the conventional expansion pack retail CD/DVD.

I wish for the old gays when BioWare was alone and not tied to EA.Posted Image

An interesting, although amazingly annoying bug that has appeared in DA:O after installing DA: A;



After I've completed the ashes quest chain and left the temple, my main weapon vanishes. First I thought it was unequipped, but it was totally gone from my inventory as well. Same thing happened after completing the Circle quest, it appears to be tied to area transfers where it cuts to dialogue afterward.

Well I wont search through this thread to see if this is posted so. else.

First attempt to play Awakening with an imported Character.

Problem: Enemies are neither hostile nor do they move or fight back. They have obscene hp regeneration though...

Ok, I'm completely new to this forum. I've no idea where all the topics are, so I figured my problem is about an Awakening bug and should probably be posted here. I've not read through all fourteen pages, so I'm sorry if I'm just repeating a problem.

1) My Awakening disc wont install. It gets to the point where it's doing something to the ep1_core.rar and then a msg pops up (with the freaky looking new brood mother - coincidence? Or something more?) telling me the installation has failed. No explanation, nothing; just it failed.

2) Since trying last night to install it, and giving up in a blind rage, I've gone back and started a new DA game. Now, since the failed install, every time I open my inventory the game crashes and sends me back to the desktop. No explanation: just "DA has stopped working".



If anyone could help me with these problems, or just point me to a thread that can help me, I'd really appreciate it.

Awakenings is crashing fairly constantly as windows picks up a "program stopped working" dialogue. Crashes seem to happen during fights mostly but are very frequent.

There's an issue with being able to trigger Velanna's personal quest.  It seems way too incredibly random, some people can trigger it right after picking up Velanna but others have gone hours back and forth without having the encounter pop up on the road. 

- Conversation scene with The Architect right before you either spare / kill him and go on to The Mother, the screen just goes blank for a few momments before conversation options appear again and you're able to continue the convo normally, with graphics.

- The ending cutscene, stabbing The Mother, replays over and over again after the epilogue slides show.  ESC got me out of the repeating sequence.

- I could never trigger the last merchant / encounter for Trade Must Flow and was thus unable to complete the quest.

- Lillith, one of the merchants for Trade Must Flow, showed up at Vigil's Keep before I triggered her encounter on the road. 

- Sigrun's personal quest will not show up / is unattainable if you have done Law And Order.  The NPC permanently despawns.

- Vigilance looks like Starfang unless you turn off Warden's Keep.

- Having problems triggering Velanna's companion quest. The random encounter just won't pop up, despite spending the good part of (afewhours) trying to get it to appear.



- Can't trigger Sigrun's companion quest if Law and Order has been done.

After the first encounter with Velanna, where she appears in the cutscene, if you tell her you are a warden she just tells you to kill the darkspawn and leaves you alone. However, after completing the other quests when you go to further the quest (trading troubles) she is supposed to be in the dalish camp so you can talk to her. She will not spawn. I have loaded and reloaded for hours trying to get her to spawn. The marker for the quest is there, but she will not appear. Anyone?



(I realize I cannot progress further without her, and all my other quests so far are done)

I just got 100 respect for giving the spyglass (one of the gifts), not sure if it is a bug but it seemed too strange not to be.

I am also experiencing a problem with Sigrun's personal quest not triggering having done Law and Order.



Also, she's the last NPC that I recruited and when I go back to the keep after Kal'Hirol, there is no option for her to take her joining. The room is already full of nobles and the only options that the Senechal gives are to start the meeting or to wait a little bit. Not sure if this bug is Sigrun specific, or if it happens with the last NPC that you recruit regardless of who they are.

Damn, I didn't even realize that it was supposed to look differently. Wow it looks so much cooler if you turn off WK. I wish I'd known that earlier..

Also, when fighting Shadows during the battle in Amaranthine, if you kill them immediately after they create their decoy skeletons, those skeletons become indestructible, and you're unable to complete the battle.

I just found a sound holder in one of the random banter between Oghren and Velanna, its really wierd to hear a robot's voice instead of Oghren's voice.

Another bug to add to this seemingly endless list:



When you first arrive in vigils keep & trade with the bloke standing in the corner near Oghren, there's 2 backpacks in his inventory.

Purchasing one only adds a further 5 slots to your inventory, instead of the usual 10 & purchasing the second one adds zilch.

ie, for two backpacks you only gain an additional 5 inventory slots - definitely bugged.



Additionally, I've found that if you only purchase 1 backpack, and close the window, when you open trade with the guy again, that 2nd backpack is gone from his inventory.



Otherwise, about a 3rd into the game & have so far only encountered the Oghren gift maxing out at +6 bug and the game lagging insanely during & after certain cut scenes...

am not sure..if its a bug or not.. but I re-played my origins game...from the start and my soldiers peak npc Levi disappeared from the encampment.... after installing 1.03 and awakening.... that includes shale too from the world map... its not showing.. only Return to Ostagar is visible.. on the map..tried uninstalling and re-installing everything and the same result... both not showing only return to ostagar.... :(

Oh this bug was just GREAT. So I'm fighting The Lost and the Inferno Golem and a nice bug in the game all of a sudden prevents camera movement, panning the camera in or out. I can't exit the game, can't save, can't load can't use skills can't use items I'm stuck "auto attacking" the bosses. I've had enough of this bull**** patch / expansion we deserve better than this considering what we paid for Dragon Age and the Awakening expansion. This happened randomly during the first moments of the boss encounter I have never seen an issue like this ever in any game and just randomly occured in Dragon Age Awakening. Also much of the quests are broken among other nice little bugs here and there. I know EA / Bioware could give a crap less about the customers as they already have our money just thought I would throw a nice f*ck you out there to Bioware for this horrible patch.

Vigilance Longsword and Vigilance Greatsword look like Starfang longsword and Starfang Greatsword...it's a shame since Vigilance's real graphic is so cool

I have a horrible problem. in the first mission, it wont play the cutscene in the part with ogdren.  HELP :ph34r:

I got to a point were everything was dead but two trees ants. And they wouldn't move. The mine was still locked and the Vellana cut scene would not engage. I did all the other quests. I think not going straight to the ledge near the trees something glitched. I went straight down and around the structure after talking to the infected guy. Did the puzzle and the two brothers quests then I could run past those two ents all i wanted but she never showed up for the 2nd meeting. I had to restart the level and go there right after talking to the Infected guy for the second meeting with the mage to work.


I'm having the exact same problem, but I can't restart the level. No saves to that point :(

Do any of these "bugs" respond (disappear) to turning graphics effects down or turning other featuers off like uploading stats to your online account--anything that would make it easier to process the game--make any difference in "bug" behavior or rather the bugs disappearing?

Just adding myself to the list of players praying for a patch soon. Why even release Awakenings when it's this glitchy?

- Cannot get into warehouse to complete Anders' companion quest (the door is not selectable)
- Cannot find location to complete Justice's companion quest
- "Out of Control" quest completely bugged; cannot loot bodies and complete quest chain
- Seneschal makes companions wardens before they have expressed the desire to do so
- Quanari merchant showed up in camp before he was recruited

Also, my game is about 100x more glitchy; it crashes way more frequently than it did before Awakenings.

Hm, I encounter this bug :

- Justice & Sigrun get 100 approval after I gifted them & Sigrun's approval stays neutral at 100 approval (Justice's approval change into Love after I completed his personal quest)

- I can't change side to Amaranthine's authority after I accepted Smuggler's quest

- I can't find the dwarf that started Sigrun's personal quest

- Dworkin Glavonak's quest to find Lyrium Grains can still be found after giving him 3 Lyrium Grains

- Cannot start Velanna's Joining because I finished Wending Woods quest last

- After epilogue plays out, the ending scene just plays over & over again, even after I used Esc button to skip it

I had all these bugs on the pc except the Dworkin one.  Except Justice and Sigrun went +100 after joining me, no gifts.  Justice was neutral at 100.  Ander's says 'Love' after he hit 100. 

The first time I finished the game, I did none of the Orphan quests, yet in the Epilogue the person who is supposed to have tricked you is mentioned.  The second time I did all the quests, and nothing at all is mentioned in the Epilogue.  

Masterpiece and Paragon Silverite and Dewomer runes change to armor from weapon.  I rather have the +14 darkspawn damage on my weapon, than my armor.
