Anders' gift "Phylacteries" gives only one point increase in approval.

Anything worn by a companion that can't be worn by an experimental subject disappears.

Significant numbers of labelled objects cannot be interacted with.

What's this about Sigrun's companion quest being unavailable if you choose the lawful path in Amaranthine?

I dunno if its the same thing you are asking, but as for me Sigrun joining could not be completed because i did Kal´hirol last, her quest for joining is in the journal but when i go to speak with Varel he just starts the last quest of the main plot and so i can´t complete her companion quest.

That's incredibly dumb on the part of Bioware. Don't they test these things? So they never checked out the combination of a lawful player and Sigrun--obviously their test coverage was rather slack. I'm sorry, but they would flunk my class in object-oriented software engineering.

Yes, but I've seen this happen for equipment on companions, too. They never thought this possibility through. Perhaps it costs less to use entry-level programmers, but it really shows in the quality of the product.

To be blunt, I'm seeing extensive evidence this module was put together by entry-level programmers with very limited supervision. Many of the errors being reported reflect seriously slack software engineering.

Did you use a mod to transfer the shield? Officially none of the promotional DLCs are supposed to transfer over, so unexpected behavior for unexpected items isn't terribly surprising. I know others have experienced this as well but usually with equipment that was ported in normally.


No.  I got it the normal way, by registering with Alienware's web site.  The page I downloaded it from said it is usable in Awakening and Origins.

Yeah, I already know the fix.  I just remove the shield before I go in.  I alredy said that in my post.  That's not why I'm posting this.  I'm posting this so it can be fixed to where I don't have to do that.  I thought it might have already been posted, but I'm not sorting through 21 pages just to find out.  I posted it anyway.

You know what, I just realized I have this problem too. I have a female city elf rogue with 46 cunning and 4 in trap skill and I've been running throguh traps like crazy. The tile traps in the chasm and the traps in the woods too. I never detect them even when standing in front of them.


I'm playing 1.0.3, and I'm seeing this.

You know what, I just realized I have this problem too. I have a female city elf rogue with 46 cunning and 4 in trap skill and I've been running throguh traps like crazy. The tile traps in the chasm and the traps in the woods too. I never detect them even when standing in front of them.

Hmm i detect them just fine with 4/4 lockpicking, no traps skill, ~30 cunning with lvl 14 character.



God this game turned into a bug fest, i noticed there are no novice barrier runes for sale in Awakening? is it just my game because i can´t find it on any merchants, or was this also intentional?



Also i dunno if some of you noticed but in the spells/talents for a mage, the entropy line of spells starting with drain life has a duplicate line on the bottom, i see this in Origins too.

My list of bugs after my first complete run of Awakening:



Major bugs:

* Unable to finish Oghren's personal quest because of insufficient approval

* Sigrun's personal quest not starting because of the Law and Order quest



Minor bugs:

* Companions not in party reacting at my choices (approval changes)

* One of the conspirators appeared in the keep after I killed her

* I choose to save Amaranthine and the codex says all companions left behind to defend Vigil's Keep died (keep full upgraded), but in the epilogue all survived, except Justice

* I resolved the peasant riot only speaking with them (not give them food), but epilogue says them continued rioting, emboldened by first attempt. Is this the correct result?

they sould fix the dlc to work on awaekings as well i payed for nothing but guy we sould stand up and let Bioware fix this bug and patch the 1.0.3 patch that need inprovements even exspaned the pack we bought as well it was to short >_<

Just finished Awakening yesterday, so here's what I've noticed that makesme raise my eyebrows and wonder, in no particlar order:

* Despite giving every single Ogrehn-specific gift to him, was unable to finish his personal quest due to insufficient approval
* When dweomer runed are upgraded to masterpiece, they become armor runes (don't know about paragon)
* After the siege, where I chose to save Vigil's Keep, I am unable to purchase / sell anything to Herren; the icon doesn't change when scrolling over him, and clicking any button does nothing
* Lily the merchant consistently throughout the game kept appearing next to Herren after saving her.  I think I had the exact same conversation with her at least half-a-dozen times ("Do you remember me?")
* Absolutely zero merchants have any Barrier runecrafting plans, unfortunately at any point in the game
* In a slight change from Origins, I noticed that there were party approval changes with characters that I left at the keep. For example, I did some of the blight orphans quests, and the approval changes pop up with all companions, including the people I left at Vigil's Keep.  Not sure if this is a glitch or an intentional change from Origins.  I assume it's the former.
* Power of Blood abilities don't work at all

That's everything off the top of my head.  If I think of something else, I'll add more

Just noticed an amusing and very minor bug: using the Templar Heraldry applies the Redcliffe Heraldry to shields instead, there goes my devious plan to irk Anders by equipping him with the Mage-Hunter with the Templars' symbol emblazoned on it.

Hope these aren't repeats...also having some others I know have been mentioned such as crashing, approval shooting up +100, etc.

Black screen during a couple of dialog scenes, I can't recall for sure what the first was but the second was the conversation with the Architect right before the Mother at the end. It was like the video went out, I could tell where the letterbox bars were and could see all the captions and could continue the dialog, but the video was gone in the middle.

Also during this conversation I called Sigrun "Justice" when telling her to trust me for trusting the Architect (possibly just a typo).

I did get a drop from the high dragon this time, but it was one potent stamina potion (I would hope you'd get get a better drop from him than that lol).

ETA: Remember something else. The text wasn't correct when summoning armies at the battle to save the keep, I got a code/text string, like "something_sniper" etc when clicking the icons on the wheel. Sorry I don't remember exactly what the strings were >.>

When the player character is a rogue, there is no trap detection. If I import a non-rogue character, then my companions can detect traps OK - but if the player character is a rogue, trap finding does not work. Only happens in awakenings.

Okay, I hope bioware is reading this because since the Electronic Arts aquisition I've been a bit worried, and apparently the fears are not without merit. I was considering buying the expansion pack, Awakenings, almost that is. When I found multiple sources of all the bugs and lack of story continunity, tied with a price tag almost as high as the original larger game well...sorry guys. I hope some senior marketing/developing people at Bioware/Electronic Arts is reading this because I feel a class act is getting "the taint". The trying of selling more content in a game already purchased was annoying enough. Now growing list of bugs on an expansion pack in the market with a large price tag to boot. when The price reflects the amount of content and the bugs are fixed, I'll reconsider buying "Awakenings" but given the lack of continunity of the story, the price would have to come down significantly. Bador's Gate was handled masterfully. I really am worried about Bioware falling as a consequence of Electronic Arts involvement.

I should consider myself lucky, so far only losing all of Nathaniel's equipment in the silverite mine. The "experiment" is there in the mine but won't talk or fight. I guess the bandit at Bioware and EA just walked off with my real goldImage IPB. It's too bad I can't put them in a Crushing Prison!

Posted this elsewhere, still no answer.

I am at the battle defending Vigil's Keep and have hit a bug that seemingly has brought my game to an early and disappointing end.

Where I am is right after Seneschal Varel dies and a new wave of shrieks start coming through the gate. After destroying maybe 4 of them (I am on Normal Difficulty) nothing more happens and I'm just stuck there.

It seems like maybe a cutscene or something was meant to trigger but didn't.

I have looked all over the area and find nothing that I've missed. I updated my ATI drivers and deactivated all my DLC. Nothing.

Anders is 'bugged' in my game. He's frozen in combat mode all the time. He will eventually stand straight but he keeps his arms in the combat position making him look like a plastic doll or something. I made him an Arcane warrior so he has a shield and sword..that is how his arms stay. Even in cut scenes, even at the Keep, always.

Rune tracings never make it into inventory.  If purchased, your money disappears, but no rune tracings appear in your inventory.  If found, they disappear from the book or chest or whatever, but they don't appear in the party inventory.

Just to let you guys know, you should probably stop reporting bugs here. BioWare is likely never going to fix them in any adequate way. You're wasting your time. I suggest making a statement by mailing EA your game discs back, and refusing to purchase any future products from EA and any of its subsidiaries, including BioWare.

If we give back the game, we would be losing a lot. What we need is a firm statement from the community to pressure Bioware to fix the problem that came with Awakening and those who patched to 1.03.

Its already May and still we got no formal announcement as when a patch will be available or even a claim if Bioware is indeed working on a patch.

Or we can just sit down and shut up, pick your own poison.
