Nevermind, I solved my own problem. I went into another route to fight the smugglers's hetchmen (one the keeps running away) so I avoided the mumbling man, who is an Apostate. After I killed smugglers' hetchmen, I confronted the Apostate and was able to be hostile.

After "A Day At Court" quest (first one, I guess), I decided that the third guy (arrogant one accused of murder) should go free. In the Journal however, It states that I imprisoned him.



Also suffering constant crashes. I've noticed that they seem to occur most often for me when I begin combat.

Using Windows7 Professional, comp exceeds recommended specs.

Well also several crashes to the desktop (almost everytime there is a cutscene), and some weird graphic glitches in conversations.

I personally think this expansion was rushed....

in the seige of vigils keep it gets midway into the
battle when your fighting and no more enemies come theyre on the map but
nothing.its right after when the medic comes into battlle and
leaves.but ya it just kinda sits there. any suggestions?

Whenever I start Awakenings, whether I import a character or create a new one, none of the enemies after the start cutscene movie. I can attack them, but only once per click, auto attack doesn't operate, and they also seem to be stuck in 'out of combat' mode as unless killed quickly, they heal back to full hps.

The same occurs with enemies after the second cutscene once you kill all the first wave. At this point I stopped playing.

In the thieves den after clearing out the thieves for the smugglers; the smuggler leader will keep giving me 15 sovereign everytime i select the option saying that i wont kill the guard commander. Well alteast I found a bug that does some good for me for a change.Image IPB

The game is constantly crashing to desktop.
I had no issues playing origins at max graphics, so I doubt it's a hardware issue on my part.
I've only been able to play for about 20 minutes, I've just met up with Anders, gone outside for the fight on the rampart and game crashes back to desktop every time.

When has Bioware actually fixed bugs? Is someone actually going to read this thread? What about the (literally) thousands of other posts in this forum alone listing bug after bug after bug, all ignored? Sorry but anybody who thinks that Bioware is interested in making a product worth selling has been ignoring their recent completely pathetic track record.

+100 Neutral Approval Bug
-Velanna and Sigrun (In that order for me) joined at +100 Approval (Neutral). Reducing their approval through negative actions and then re-raising it with gifts does not trigger their 'inspirations' or change them from neutral. Unfortunately I do not know the console command to change their approval ratings or even their character numbers so cannot try to fix it through the console.
-Some further information, at the time both characters joined me and their ratings were set to 100, the 'inspiration' traits for them triggered onscreen even though browsing through the skills/talents/etc. does not show them having it. May be related to the +100 Neutral Approval bug.

Love Approval Bug
-Even though there are no romance options/cutscenes in Awakening, for some reason during my normal playthrough, with no modifications or console command changes done, Anders was set to 'Love' rather than Friendly/Warm at some time during his personal quest. This seems to have no actual gameplay changes so far, and other characters brought to +100 Approval show the correct 'Friendly' text.

Wending Woods Invisible Wall Bug
-This seems to occur right after Velanna wakens the two treants and then sends a horde of wolves at the player. Invisible wall occurs on the pathway back up (Next to the mines). The reason the invisible wall persists is due to the wolves and/or treants not spawning correctly or being delayed in spawning. I suggest checking around to make sure you killed all the wolves as the wall will not be removed until 'every' wolf is destroyed.

Vigil Keep Respawning Chests Bug
-I noticed that for some odd reason the 2 chests and the crate in the courtyard of Vigil Keep seem to respawn/resupply themselves every so often.  From memory, I've successfully picked the lock on one of them at least 3 times in one playthrough and looted the crate/chest 3 times.  Each time the loot on them seems to have been re-randomized (Or they could be clones and I didn't realize it).  The chests/crates I am talking about are the ones through the gate to the right when you enter Vigil's Keep from the outside (Past Wade).

Oghren Approval Bug
-Oghren only gains +6 Approval from character specific gifts.

Multiplying Summons - Ranger - Nathaniel
-As someone already noted, giving the ranger specialization to Nathaniel and summoning the pets causes an amusing/odd bug.  You can end up with multiple spiders/bears/wolves due to the first/second/etc dying and then having it magically resurrect/respawn itself.

Miasma Issue
-When using Miasma and travelling to a new location or area, the spell will go on cooldown and end itself.  This is counter to most/all of the other 'continual/upkeep' spells.

Sigrun (And possibly Velanna) Grey Warden Ceremony Bug
-If you get Sigrun/Velanna last and have completed all the major quest lines, you are unable to complete the Grey Warden ceremony due to the Seneschal immediately stating that the nobles have convened for the dark spawn armies (Siege of Amaranthine/Vigil Keep plot beings).  Leaving you unable to complete that plot point with the two recruits.

Legion of the Dead Shield Heraldry Bug
-Applying the Legion of the Dead Heraldry on a shield gives +20 to all stats.


As stated somewhere above, I did not use 'any' mods on my character during Origins/Awakening.

When using "Unending Flurry" with my character all of the Disciple Generals and the Architect use the same stabbing animation as my char and the High Dragon outside Drake's Fall just stood there, doing nothing at all

If you pick up the quest to solve the smuggler problem in the A City, while agreeing with to help the thief with the bartender, you then have to decide which party to work for. Eventually I decided to kill of the smugglers, but completing the chain left the bartender with the quest mark, and he still responds as if you were on the quest. Not that if you go through with it, the quest simply tells you you cannot complete that line (duh), however, the city guards including the one who gives you the quest in the game now label you a murder, which is the same result you would get if you helped the smugglers instead. Stupid crap. Had to reload a much earlier safe...

Same exact thing happened to me, dwarf noble though, dual wielder, backpack was fully usable but lost armor, jewelry, cinch, weapons, the lot.  Never returned.

First off, maybe this has happened because I made Velanna a Grey Warden before even entering the Mines. But, anyway.


I have a HNF rogue. The first time I went in the mines (after picking up Velanna and wandering the map for a bit) I woke up with NO clothes on and everything that was in my bags still there (but none of what I was wearing. Because I had heard of the bug where the stuff you were wearing never shows back up, I went back to a save from before I entered teh Mines, took off all my stuff and entered.

Woke up with the prison clothes on and nothing in my bags. It is to laugh, no?

Went back to the save from before entering the mines, entered the mines, quicksaved, than proceeded while wearing all my usual gear.

Woke up with no clothes on. Srsly. It is to laugh. No, really. :|

I have now restarted and will try again. Maybe if I, like, only take *one* thing off....

This is no longer funny.

Taking off weapons leaves me naked in the cell with my bags intact

Taking off all my Trickster armor leaves me in cell with prison clothes and nothing in my bags.

Guess I better go buy some cheap armor.... But then I don't get my good armor back until near the end of that dungeon - not a good option.


Edit:  it has to be the whole set off, or I end up with naked-in-the-cell.  :(

Edit2: and wearing all of Cailen's armor results in Naked-in-the-cell.  Guess I just accept the fact that my rogue goes naked to the cell and ends up in clothes.Image IPB

Edit3:  I tried to use the bug, but to no avail.  Wearing ONLY the GtO armor set and with all my other gear (rings, weapons, etc) in my bag.... I arrived in the cell in prison clothes and nothing in my bag.  At this point, I can only laugh, again.


I have noticed, however, that when I have prison clothes, there's a quest update.  When I am naked... there isn't.


Edit4:  Can't stop messing with this, I guess.  Taking off just my weapons ended up with prison clothes, no quest update and stuff in my bags.  Not... good.  Taking off everything BUT weapon and armor (that included removing arrows) resulted in prison clothes, quest update and empty bags.  I'll take that!

I have the problem that all of my companions suddenly lost all of their skills and abilities. Also, when they level, if I earn an abilities point, the abilities tree doesn't even show in the leveling screen.

i was wearing the Juggernaut armor and it showed well in awakening :)
