For Kallak its easy to pass up as the fighting can lead you away from it. As soon as you enter the Trade Quarter there is a staired bridge on your right that you cross to find darkspawn fighting each other clear all the big uglies out of the area and if you go back to the bridge and then face the room again you will see a doorway to the right go down the stairs there and you will see Dailan's bones this is where you find the broken Kallak and its partner shield.

^also, people, don't forget that a few of those items (including Kallek's sword) appear as "broken" items and have to be reforged at the forge area. That may explain why some aren't finding them. Chances are, you already found them and they're in your inventory... as something else. they just have to be reforged.
