I recruited Howe, put him through the Joining, went to Amaranthine and did some quests there(met with Nathaniel's sister and such), then I went to Blackmarsh first, finished up there, went back to the keep and did a few things, then I went to Wending Woods and recruited Valanna and took her back to the keep and put her through the joining and did some other keep related quests(sealed off the deep roads in the basement and such).  Then I went to Knotwood Hills and recruited Sigrun.  Took her back to the keep for her joining, but was stopped by Felsi.  Ogrhen and her had a chat and Oghren's quest was still unfinished.  I talk to the guy that runs the keep(can't recall the name) and he won't let me do the joining for Sigrun and the only choice I have at this point is to hit the point of no return.  I went ahead and completed the game, but I can't see how I could do anything different in the future in regards to completing all sidequests unless I recruit Justice last(since he doesn't have a joining) and I'd rather not be forced to recruit him last.  Did I miss something?  Is there some way I could recruit in the order I recruited and still be able to send all characters through the joining?

As far as I can tell, you have to recruit him last. I didn't get to have Valeanna go through the Joining for the exact same reason.
