Do you get the kiss on the cheek if you are Alistair's lover, instead of wife? I've already played through as a Cousland Queen, but I'm making a mage to be his lover and I want some sort of recognition that he loves me.

It is not a kiss. He whispers in your ear.

You get it whether you are his mistress or wife.

Really!?! It seemed to me more like a chaste kiss on the cheek.

Almost better to import mistress. At least he says "love."

Not enough dialogue with him, but take what I can get.

I think he Called me "my love" when he first approached (I'm his wife). Was that a whisper?? I thought it was a peck too. He was lookin good in his gold armour, its nicer than Cailin's. I'm going to miss him, we were a team.

In the conversation he will call you love if your married to him. Haven't done the mistress part so I'm not sure and as far as the whisper/peck on the cheek I thought it was a kiss kiss lol.

Alistair: I hate having to ask you to do this, love. It'd be so much more interesting to keep you at court...

It's funny, because I think I detected an honest to goodness happy expression on my PC's face during his little send-off. Maybe she was, like me, swooning over how he managed to make the word "interesting" sound so absolutely filthy.

I've heard that the mistress interaction is very similar to the wife interaction, though. I thought I was importing a mistress save on my HN, but it was an emergency back-up queen ending.

@SurelyForth - He does doesn't he? ~Evil Grin~

I'm not an Alistair Fan Girl, but I was jumping in my seat to see him and interact with him. Even if it was just for a few minutes. I got all my pictures taken. He seems genuinely sad to leave you and I honestly believed he'd come back for me. Maybe that's just wishful thinking but I'll deal. XD

Well that wasn't even my favorite line with him, this is my fav:

PC: Planning on joining me, dear husband?

Alistair:  Oh, I wish.  Don't even tempt me like that, you minx.  Eamon will have a heart attack.

I was going oh please please let me tempt you, get rid of Eamon n have some fun at the same time Image IPB

I've been searching the forums, but how long after Origins does Awakening take place? Alistair refers lady Cousland as "his wife" which would indicate this is taking place at least 6 months later (since my ending slide said HNF and Alistair married 6 months later).

At some point my Seneschal said the date during an execution, but it didn't really make sense to me. Some people are speculating this is 7 months later, but I really have no idea. Thoughts?

I guess it's the little things, but I have to say, it felt pretty formal and stiff for an "in love" couple. I was guessing that it was the same scene whether you were in a political marriage to Alistair or a love match. I guess a quickie in the guard shack was too much to hope for. LOL

On another note: Anyone else feel a little weird that no one seems to know or care that you're the queen of Ferelden? I don't expect any bowing or scraping, but could I get a Your Majesty every once in a while? The up side is that since no one does know or care, my rogue princess-consort feels free to pursue her life of petty crime. All your locked chests are belong to me, citizens of Amaranthine. :D

@Addai67 - I wasn't going to say anything at first but yeah. I am kinda peeved that people don't see me as the Queen. That was the one thing I felt was odd. I don't need to be reminded of it but damn. Call my character Queen Jenella just once...

Even I keep forgetting that I'm the queen, which would serioulsy dampen the thrill of looting and being relentlessly sarcastic to everyone. My PC is a shameless flirt and hit on some random barmaid and about five minutes later I thought "Hmm, maybe I shouldn't make eyes at everything that moves, lest it get back to my freaking husband."

Anders is still fair game.

I hit on Anders the first chance I got. Jenella still loves you Alistair.

I even found it odd that my character bowed to Alistair. I could see that before they're married, but I'm the queen, dammit! Let everyone else get down on one knee... while they're bowing with heads lowered is the perfect opportunity for an Orlesian kiss with the lord husband!

That, too! I guess they didn't want to work through all the possible combinations (I imagine that Anora would expect even her husband to bow to her) and just made it the same for everyone. I did wish I could reach over and punch Oghren in the knee and make him bow, too.

I don't know if I could get that romantic with Rylock and her crazy eyes nearby, though.

Oh, that's true.  But since I'm also chancellor, I really don't think it's too much to ask to pull the king aside for a, um, council meeting.

LOL

I'm his chancellor!  I have to make sure that his armor isn't... you, know, chafing or anything.

Which guy's point of view? I found Alister cowardly and shunning responsibilities in DAO. Not much of a hero in him, but I guess some girls do like guys like him.
