The only thing I'm worried about is the lack of 'pimpin' armor.

I've noticed that all the armor we've seen so far attempts to look realistic, especially when it comes to colors.

Now, I'm a fan of NWN, and in that you could come up with some color combinations that were brilliant and bright. Pimp armor, as I like to call it. The kind where it looks like Rainbow Bright chugged a value pack of skittles and then threw up all over the plate mail. Chainmail with so many clashing colors it might trigger an epileptic seizure. Leather so bright that it makes your eyes pop out of your skull and roll to the safety of your quilted afghan.

What I’m wondering is if Dragon Age will let me equip the marvelous, pimpin’ armor like this as that’s the reason people play RPGS.

Pop quiz: Why is World of Warcraft the most popular RPG in existence?

Because of the pimpin' armours? That armour is bad to the ass. Well, I spose we can just mod some stuff in... *kills a million puppies*

I hope we get some awesome gear. The Blood Dragon armour didn't do much for me. Cailan's armour is pretty hawt, though.

Dear BioWares,

You already have the massive shoulder pads and weapons but you've forgotten some important stuffs:

Giant spikes.

Flames if evil. Golden glowy bits if good.

Skulls on spikes.

Maria is a warlock, I'm so surprised by this. =]

Also, I see your pimp-'lock, and raise you a pimpadin! :bandit:

For the curious, the armor is called Soulforge and is an old paladin set from WoW 1.0. B)

Edit: Maria's picture is of the Corruptor Raiment, Tier 5 raid armor from the Burning Crusade expansion.

What do you intend to do with those sword hilts, that you want them shaped like that?:innocent:

Now, the idea with WoW is to feed the addiction, and bright, glittery, crazy-looking stuff fits. It's all about being noticed so pimping yourself out makes sense.

I don't think DA:O's "dark, gritty world" would allow all the shiny things. You may get some spikes, though.

Nah, see Kevin the trick is we dress Sten up in all that shiny armor and send him out.  The Darkspawn will be distracted and focus on him, not noticing Morrigan dropping Inferno's on their heads.

Your post makes me fear for the future of our children, and possibly has caused me to suffer mental trauma. I will now go hide under my bed until Skittles and Crayola are taken off the market. "Why are there so many, songs about rainbows..."

Awesome loot is a must, I agree. However, it shouldn't look over-the-top like some of those World of Warcraft stuff, hehe.

Trying to colour DA armours might have the same issues as NWN2 has. (some parts you cant colour, others have more grey-tints, e.g. White is more grey-white ect.)

Besides.. I dont think the bright, cartoony colours of WoW (Yuck!) would fit in Dark Fantasy at all. It's supposed to be a more toned down in colours thing - the art style is also more mature than the Cartoony wow style.

WoW isnt particulairy populair with me. It's an mmo, with all the things that come with it i dont really like. (Themepark idea, too bright and colourfull, grinding, hour long raids for gear, no rp)

Nobody loves Druids here? You know, they can look pretty freaky too, with all that grass on them.

Not to mention Blood Elf Paladins (http://www.everyjoe....lly-300x290.jpg) this one looks kind of like Valen Shadowbreath in a tight golden suit with giant shoulder pads.

I personally like the lack of bright colours for once, its a nice change to have something that looks realistic. I'm sure there will be some tinted armours etc, but i'm doubting "Hot Pink Halfplate" will feature, and thats cool with me.

I know Maria likes to write cynically. I mean, sometimes. ^^ But was there a particular occasion to create such a topic?

I prefer realistic looking weapons and armor, so in my opinion it's enough we have big ass weapons in the game.

There's just over 2 weeks until release, everyone's getting a little bit crazy :D

Anyway, I'm sure someone will come up with some pimpin' armour at some stage, if not, I might have to make some.
Toolset ftw! :wizard:
