these characters all suck **** in my honest opinion.. oghren is cool but all the other ones give me very good reason to deny them even joining my party.. i let anders go because he was a dick and wore a huge gold ring in his ear, he just struck me as an ****, mhairi was allright but of course died.. then theres howes son, who is obviously a dick.. i dont want someone who secretly hates me for killing their father on my team.. so i refused him..

now i am stuck with only oghren in my party, and i am coming across 20 darkspawn just on the road from amaranthine to wending wood. its an impossible battle. i looked up the other characters and they are all pretty stupid looking as well. a female dwarf rogue? and the other ones are just ugly and annoying looking.. i was stoked when i saw wynne , but she doesnt join the party either.. they really should have been a bit more creative with the characters in this expansion..

Absolutely. There should be at least one that has your warm and fuzzy disposition, as it is a small world after all....

no, you can't, it was just a way to shock people thats all. nothing really to it. a rea;;y crappy surprise, thats not really good, since you're short one warrior. which in the original you can choose up to three different warrior (alistair, sten, orghen). Kinda sucks since she used a champoin debuff. But that spirt dude makes up for it, with his abilites. Still it was annoying, she would of brought something to the table, plus I got really tried of having nothing but a sauage feast for my team XD, one girl, 4 guys, take about rape of the character dynamics.

Wait, let me get this right... your complaining that your only character in your party is oghren when you refuse to allow someone in your party becuse he has a earing and others becuse they are "stupid looking and ugly"? your going up against a swarm of intelegent darkspawn led by an highly powerfull darkspawn mage with a drunken dwarf and supprised you loose, shocking.

Now consider, you fight them with supermodels and footballers in your party. good luck with that!

My guess is that Mhairi was a possible companion; however, due to the fact how rushed Awakening is, BW decided to kill one of the six possible new Grey Wardens (<- including Mhairi) and didn't have the time left to remove the influence points she can get or lose.

Man, I really wish Mhairi had made it through. Definitely my favorite short lived companion, ahead of Jory, Daveth, etc. Even with her brief appearance, up there in my favorite companions list.

I liked Mhairi, although I'll admit, her battle cry "For the Wardens!" would've gotten really old if I had to hear it through the whole game.
