kotaku.com/5495405/mass-effect-dragon-age-creators-consider-the-post+release-romance-pack

While the suggestion that BioWare could accede to such requests to just add more sex via downloadable content was made tongue-in-cheek, Zeschuk said that the idea of adding more dating and love to the game after the fact is an idea he likes. He thinks of such possible content as, in his words, "a romance pack," something that has nothing to do with combat and everything to do with relationships. "You know, It's possible," he said. Mentioning a character from Dragon Age, he suggested there could be a "Take Leliana on a date pack."

"That is a pretty good idea," Muzyka chimed in, sounding as if this was the first he'd heard of it.

"I've mentioned it to the guys," Zeschuk told me and Muzyka. "And maybe we will."

Perhaps this is the way some players will get those F/F and M/M options they were so wishing for?

I don't know how I feel about this.

I play Mass Effect because I'm a spectre out to save the galaxy, not because it's a dating sim....

Ugh

Is there even any M/M romance SHEPARD dialog recorded? I heard there was a rumor that the only way Vanderloo accepted the VA contract was for his character to only be heterosexual. Personally I hope this isn't the case but it doesn't sound so odd

Well, while I hardly think that one or two new options would make it a dating sim, it's perfectly possible to play through the entire franchise ignoring this aspect of it. Your Shepard may focus solely on getting the mission finished, and you're not penalized for it at all.  It is, after all, your character.  You're telling the story of Shepard as you feel s/he should act in the greater framework of Mass Effect's narrative. These romance subplots add a lot for some players who like creating an interesting story for themselves.  There's no reason not to add more stuff for players to work with.

The joys of Mass Effect... You can play the game as the celibate savior of the galaxy or the Galactic pimp to save the universe to protect free love.

Vanderloo is the model.  Mark Meer is the voice actor.

It was definitely recorded for the first game - partially recorded in a couple of cases for the second game.

Hmmmm..... another oppurtunity for Bioware to kick the ME1 love interest fans in the junk.

They'd be crazy NOT to do it.

Unless this involves Parsini and Shiala coming back to my place while Mordin creepily watches, I'm not interested.

Its a nice gesture, but Ray and Greg saying "thats a cool idea" doesnt change anything. I really wouldnt expect anything of the likes of this. Bioware seems to be of the opinion in Mass Effect at the moment that if it isnt fast paced combat oriented ****, its not worth doing.

If we did get any, Id kick myself in the face.

I support this.

Seriously, I find the romances fun as they support the narrative. Having characters in love with your Shepard raises the stakes and creates a further drive to pull them through the story alive and well (or create a deeper emotional impact if they die). Plus, it adds some nice distraction and dialogue options on the Normandy that aren't accessible unless you romance someone...

Adding them just for the sake of it, however, I'm not so keen on. Unless it's actually post-suicide mission content that continues the story - which is unlikely, as it would be a massive expansion and thus again, only a part of the main story.

Besides, in its current state, an additional romance would feel almost forced into Mass Effect 2, given how many options there are.

Still, if it's a Zaeed "The Price of Romance" DLC... I'm all for it. Turns out his wife cheated on him with Vido, too.

And I played Mass Effect because I wanted to experience the full potential of a fully rounded protagonist and supporting characters, not because I wanted to play some meatheaded ****** shooter game.

Ugh

I am a big fan of the "fake Leliana" idea. That doctor had good taste. ;)

This is a stupid idea. I would rather have more gameplay... heck from what I hear there is talk that the upcoming Hammerhead DLC is going to be very short and crappy. If true on both accounts BioWare is going to be forever known in the gaming industry as a JOKE when it comes to DLC... just look at what happened with DA:O's DLC and Awakening... pshhhh. Whatever. At this point.... I don't care anymore.

From this thread and mine, I'd say the consensus is EXPAND the current ones, do NOT add new ones :)

Fun fact - the game came out a month and a half ago.  ME3 won't be out for another 2 years, in all likelihood.  There's plenty of time to fill that with all sorts of content.

If something like this was released, in addition to gameplay packs, would you really have anything to rage about?
