Sorry, it was confirmed in the forums a few days ago, but can't seem to find the link. Hold on, I'll og check Christina Noman's twitter, although Javier should know, as well.

Well... Have a look at this poll.SimonTheFrog wrote...
It's funny that people compare a little bit more romance content to sims. It's not like anyone is forced to talk to his/her squadmates about feelings etc. It's all optional. If you're just in for the shooting, do it.
But please don't get angry if other people enjoy talking to their squadmates and try to solve personal issues by clicking dialog options (hehe). Each to their own... or so.
How much more romance content do you want in ME3?
It indicates that a lot of people may like more romance in their game. It surprised me a bit.

Ok, found it!

Extend romance options for existing characters - Aye
Adding more people to romance for no good reason other than more shag time - Nay
This.
This!
Extended content for existing romances would make me ridiculously happy. And while this should include Miranda/Jacob too, it's a simple fact that the other LIs didn't get quite as much content as those two did (no extra kissing, etc.)
And I want to see Thane take off his shirt for cuddletimes.
Seriously though, some character DLC would be fantastic.

Scary in here. I think some people might love their game relationships more than real life ones.

Of course. I wish I could reload a save when I used a Renagade option on my wife instead of Paragon one. Or just X though dialog I'd heard before. :innocent:

That is unless the romance dlc would involve the ME1 love interests. Plus lets face it, people are frothing over never being able to bed Kelly, so this would definately cause rejocing among those lot at least.ratzerman wrote...
Hmmmm..... another oppurtunity for Bioware to kick the ME1 love interest fans in the junk.
They'd be crazy NOT to do it.

And I played Mass Effect because I wanted to experience the full potential of a fully rounded protagonist and supporting characters, not because I wanted to play some meatheaded ****** shooter game.
Ugh
Like it or not it is a meatheaded ****** shooter game with RPG elements added in.
He'a already a fully rounded protagonist without an entire expansion pack dedicated to romance, which let's be honest is an extremely small part of the over all "Mass Effect" experience.
I don't really care about a romance pack either way. The sole reason I'm against it is because the time and resources expended could be used to beef up exploration and/or the RPG elements of the game. You know, elements that everyone would enjoy as opposed to something like romance that not everyone bothers with.

But what I would like to see also is being able to expand your friendship with the other squadmates. You can't learn more about them unless you romance them in some cases. For example, Jack's incident with so n so (no spoilers..) and how it made her feel. You can't learn about that if you're femshep. It would be nice to be able to talk her through it.

eh I think it sounds cool, although I would rather have a DLC pack that adds more depth to your decisions from ME1, like maybe meeting up with Dr Michel instead of just getting an email and so on.
Dr Michel, Shiala, and Parasini are headed back to my Shep's cabin for some kink-ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL.

I don't mind chatting to the team about anything - what baffles me is how important this seems to be for so many, and for little good reason. What I mean is that I would like to see a totally reworked relationship system overall (and that the romantics around here wants to start in the wron end), because I personally think that is one of the weak points in Mass Effect. In BG2 you had to literally fight for a viable romance; in NWN2 you had no romance at all, but relationships with your party members were very important - and both games were much more rewarding in this aspect.
In ME the romancing was slapped on as a last minute extra because they had some space on the discs left - or so it felt.
And I really think a lot of people around here should go out, find some real lovin'. I have, and it is good.

Quoting Gorn because it's relevant - a sentiment a lot of people have expressed.
Why are you opposed to adding, say, one new romance option? This character would be presumably just as rounded out as any of the existing ones. From Shepard's perspective, it wouldn't be weird. Besides, you can only romance one character per playthrough, and not every character is available to both femshep and mshep. I'm just curious.
As I've said before, a romance you can initiate after the end-game would certainly feel rushed and tacked on. But if you're required to start a new playthrough to experience the relationship, and it's revealed at the same pace as the others, then I really can't see anything negative about having another available option, particularly if its a compelling character.
Again, just curious. I'd be totally in favor of expanding the existing ones as well.
EDIT: To add this - the game is not yet two months old, with a year to go until the next one (probably more). For the folks who don't want new options - can you really see yourself feeling they same way in 9 months? They're going to have to release new characters, as squadmates and love interests, if they expect to keep it fresh until ME3.

My personal opinion on why we dont need MORE romances options is A) we have 6 already possible to work with taking what we have from ME1 and ME2 and

Probably because the romance options in ME2 feel rushed and incomplete. Most of the dialogue options are like, 1-2-punch-end. A new LI would likely go down the same path, and most of us would prefer a more fleshed out existing LI.
Also, for the person that said that we need to go out and develop real life LI's, fyi, my husband and I are BOTH in favor of this! Hah!

It would be great, that's what.
