I love this idea. BioWare, if you're listening, I'll pay $50 for a romance pack!

Please Bioware don't listen to this guy.  $50.  Do you have teh downs or something?  You get the award for Worst Marketing advice and Worst concept of the value of money.

Hm this is interesting. I really don't care if they put in racier sex scenes, but I would like to have more romance dialogue, find out more about my LI, etc. Make it so Bioware!

I am willing to keep this thread going.

I don't care about the racier sex scenes either, just more character and relationship building would be enough.

Don't get me wrong, I would want this to be in addition to more action and storyline content as well. :)

"Hey look at this! My idea has been recognized by our overlords."

In all seriousness, it's good to see BioWare considering a Romance Pack.

I don't really want it to be like going on dates though. It would be awesome if they were kind of like extensions of the loyalty quests. Taking down Miranda's dad, hunting down some people that messed with Jack, doing something with the fleet for Tali. Maybe even rekindle the flames with an ME 1 li.

This would probably be the best way of getting the most "buyers" for the DLC if they put a price tag on it.   People wanting romance are getting further extension of character interaction.  The people that want more missions are getting to blow up more stuff.    I'd enjoy hunting down some of Jack's old cult.  Great way to intro a new enemy group rather than the same 3 merc groups over and over again.   Though I dont see  anything new coming from Ashley/Kaiden sadly until ME3.   Liara atleast has upcoming Shadow Broker plot DLC planned.

I do think the last bit should absolutely be done. Time to throw a bone to the ME1 LIs and their respective partners. If to at least tide over the 'loyal' forum goers until ME3.

I hope it expands on current LI storylines. A mission to rescue Kaiden/Ashley, earning their gratitude and upping internal conflict would be hilarious.

For Garrus, I have no idea what his would be...

Tali another Migrant Fleet mission, or something between her and the geth?

Miranda/Jacob probably Cerberus or family related

Jack/Thane something to slow/stop what's killing 'em

Any of these would be awesome

I'd love to see this happen, either for ME2 or Dragon Age. The characters are always the best part about Bioware games; more interaction with them is welcome, romantic or not. And it would be interesting to see how well DLC devoid of anything combat related would sell, if that's how the romance pack turned out.

Though the article seems to suggest that it's already being worked on, I'm not going to get my hopes up without any official confirmation. There's a lot of haters of the romance aspect for some reason, and I'm not entirely sure those of us who would shell out the cash for such a pack aren't in the minority.

i like that bioware listen to there fans unlike EA when it comes to madden or something but i think they should add more conversation for everyone one and not just your 'Girl Friend" or "Boy Friend" cause i like to talk to everyone but great they there are adding this but the question is do we have to pay for if this is done?

No way.

It's not a damn dating sim, neither mass sims.

Eeeek.

Come on, Mass Effect is not about the romances. That's just a minor flavor.

If BW commits money and effort to a DLC, it shall be about the story or sidemissions.

Say NO to the romance pack ideas!

Well, if they are going to add stuff, they should at least show Tali's face this time =)

You are correct.  Mass Effect is not a dating sim.  It's baffling as to why you think a romance pack would turn it into one, given the design of the current romance subplots.  They're simply another avenue for characterization, which is good.  Expanding these elements to provide more characterization?  Also good.

Romance can be about the story.  Continued romance dialog and options can be included into additional sidemissions.    Some crazy group breaks in and steals a cure for Thane's diease.  Shepard and crew track them down to find it.   Jack has to deal with old cult "buddies"  Miranda has to worry about her sister again because Cerberus decides to not protect her now (assuming you had Miranda quit with the Paragon option)   Maybe Jacob's father breaks out of prison (assuming you let him live)     there are many ideas that can cover both sides and make everyone happy.
