Try this for a work-around folks until a patch happens:
1. First step is to delete Origins and Awakening from your PS3. This won't delete your save games, just the game data. More importantly, this will also delete the DLC data.
2. Reinstall DAO and DAA onto your PS3.
3. Reinstall any DLC you want. If you purchased any DLC it won't ask you to purchase again, it should be showing as downloaded but not installed. Go ahead in install only the DLC you want on your PS3. This is the time where if you are having problems with Warden's Keep in Awakening, don't install it.
Without Warden's Keep, The Vengeance sword and Sentinel armor will look as they should.
***A quick warning though, if you do not install the DLC you had before, any saves made during that time probably won't load for you and may tell you that there is DLC missing. New games in either DAO or DAA should work fine.***

This only works for NEW games.  If you transferred a character your save will corrupt and be unplayable (mine only transferred Wade's Dragonbone armor - sold rest, so it must be the blood abilities and not items)!!  Also, in doing this it corrupted some other file as now all the specilizations are greyed out again and need to be unlocked.  And since I already bought the manuals, I can't have any respecs or new specializtions for the rest of that entire save game - THANKS.

Seriously... how hard is it to name textures with unique names and send the patch for Sony approval?  It should take you less than 10 minutes and should of been done within the first week of release.  Are you guys down to one programmer with down syndrome?  Hire a QA tester?  I mean if you actually played the game you get the armor at the same time you get Justice - wouldn't you attempt putting the new armor on the new character (no way! who would do that).  You are making more enemies than friends with your crap - expect any future dlc/xpac sales to be nonexistent.

Honestly, I haven't had this problem. Last night I decided to give Awakenings another playthrough as a Warrior (stopped playing after I beat it once thanks to the glitches and waiting for a ptch) and after using Lang's fix and then transfering a character, everything ran pretty smoothly. I took notice that the only Power of Blood abilities that are relevant are the ones for the Rogue, the ones for the Mages and the Warriors will corrupt by transfering a character anyway as far as I can tell.

The only irritating aspect of this is that this fix is quite time-consuming. I have to uninstall everything, reinstall DAO and DAA, then redownload all of the DLC I want. This process can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour and a half depending on what time of day I am attempting to do it (this is a college campus network). It's not really convenient in the slightest, but I am hoping BioWare is going to make a patch.

I just made it to the baroness and after happily picking up my sentinel chest piece only to find out that it is bugged and it is the same armor from wardens keep. I get on here to find out that it is bugged so there is no way i can have it or vigilance. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER stupid dlc or expansion bioware puts out i wasted all my money on this crap and it doesnt even work. Thanks Bioware for ruining the game.

You know what I hate? Warden's Keep gave me no benefits. I couldn't upload anything I gained from there. However, it has downfalls. How the hell is that possible? Like seriously? You gave me no reward for completing Warden's Keep on Awakening but your punishing me for it?

None of that gets carried over to awakening is what he means other than the 2 abilities given from drinking Avernus's potion. Would have been nice to carry Starfang and the Warden Commander armor over to Awakening, especialy after paying for the dlc and a rather expensive expansion. But after almost 2 months of waiting for a patch which should have been available within the first 2 weeks of release, i guess im just gna trade the games in and not bother with future Dragon Age games.

Nice one Bioware.

I seriously put the controller down when I saw the bugged armour. I'll go back and continue to play it once the armour is finally fixed. I was pissed that they didn't let me load my Blood Dragon Armour but I got over it because I saw the Sentinel Armour. And now this!? If it's not fixed; then I guess I will never finish the game. BioWare seems to be more "preoccupied" with Mass Effect 2 DLC to care about DA:A because Mass Effect has a larger fan base. That's the only reasoning I can think of on why they haven't done @$%! and will continue to not do @#$%! but make excuses on telling us to delete DLCs instead of actually working and fixing the problem with the coding. If this WAS Mass Effect 2; I can assure you this would have been fixed on the first or second day of release.

Bump for an actual fix I've been waiting for. I didn't pay $40 for the exspansion and I sure as hell didn't pay for a DLC I wouldn't be able to use without screwing up my $40 dollar exspansion that would make my $5 completely wasted.

I check twice a week myself. Like I said, they don't care cause ME2 is more important and makes them more money. I hear they're releasing more DLC for ME2, so once again us DAO:A fans have to wait another what... two more months? Maybe longer?

Thanks again BioWare! I shall show you my appreciation by NOT buying your games until this patch is fixed without your excuses and laziness.

Wow, what a nice group of whiners we have here.

Saying that the game has been ruined because of the way the armorand sword look?

That is a whole new level of sad.

If Bioware ever wanted a reason to not support a platform (not that they don't support us) the majority of posters in this topic would be that reason.

If the only problem was a texture for a sword and armor, no I would not be as vulgar and disrespectful.  I am at the point that I have finished playing Origins and Awakenings and won't be purchasing any further DLC/X-Pac.  That is not a threat, just a simple reality brought on by the lack of any support what so ever from Bioware.  I got Origins on the release day, and have yet to see ANY of the problems posted here fixed (oh, I'm sorry, they did fix summon animations not displaying properly in camp - yippie).  So it's been great (or not), thanks for all the fish.

Some simple things, like the DEX bug - which is fixed on other platforms is just coding on how a stat should behave.  Trivial, yet 6 months later no fix.  Textures of the new weapons and armor work if you didn't buy DLC, but don't work if you did.  Since you can't use the DLC in the expansion you are punished for buying DLC.  Months later, no patch.  Locked saves - don't even get me started how retarded this 'feature' is.  The game has a physical limit on the amount of characters you can create.  This wouldn't be an issue if you could backup to USB and then delete.  YLOD destroys all progression as if you just bought the game.  The expansion encourages importing your Origins characers only adding insult to injury.  So many problems I could write a book, but yet first Bioware tries to blame Sony, then when proven to be incorrect, we get silence - equating to we have no interest in fixing this, sucks to be you.

The list goes on, but the point is the community is not furious over just a simple texture not displaying properly.  They are upset that there are major issues with the game since release that largely are being ignored.  I can understand something like PS3 framerate taking awhile, as that is harder to reproduce and isolate.  But correcting the code to a stat?  Allowing stealing to actually give an item?  Make a unique name for textures to display properly?  Etc., etc., etc.  However, there does seem to be a consistent trickling of DLC coming out.  So Bioware employees are working on something, but their goal is only to sucker more money out of you instead of fix what you already paid for.  This built up anger can then sometimes be vented out on trivial things like an item texture.

At any rate, I'm moving on as hinted in my fu post.  I don't suspect any tears will be shed or I'll be missed, but I doubt I'll be the only one.  The sad thing is it would be so easy to keep the community happy... release small patches that fix indivdual problems instead of one patch every expansion pack that doesn't touch half the problems.  Say release a patch that only fixes the armor textures... would be small, easy to make, pass sony cert quickly, and keep your fans happy and threads like these from perpetuating.

Good day to all, hope you all get a workable patch before the PS4 comes out.

I agree with you 100% i want to see what a vigilence 2hander looks like and i cant even find the helm for the sentinel armor since its glitched. The autosaves are slow and take forever to save at times. The charater limit is so damn stupid its insane. The random frame rate issues where you get a picture show and to top it all off we got sony making us test there stupid patch that not only cripples the game but makes it unplayable to 95% of the people.

Then not only that but no one has heard a patch to fix 1.03 bugs or fix any of theses bugs in general. Then we got xbox people having there saves corrupt everytime they sell to many items to the store so i've recently learned. This is crap bioware would of fixed this. But they just had to shack up with EA games the worst gaming company in the history of man kind. They ruin all there titles and soon they'll be taking bioware down with them. Bioware used to care about there fans. Im sticking it to the man its totally EA's fault you cant convince me otherwise.

I love Bioware actually, this is the first time I have ever been disappointed. I love Dragon Age so much because it reminds me of the games I used to play outside when I was a kid. Personally I'm just a little upset because it seemed like they were just saying "Eh just don't play the content you paid for and all will be cool." I just hope they actually fix it soon, since I could easily deal with the bugs in Awakening, this is the only one that gets me.

I wasted 50 dollars on a game that doesnt work properly? I have the right to be pissed off, you can go ur whole life sucking Biowares c*ck but I actually want my money's worth for what I buy.

P.S. I'm not just mad about sentinel and sword, i'm mad about the companion quests, FPS, and random glitches.

what companion quest glitch?

I personally prefer the way the Warden commander armor looks over the black sentinel armor, and while it would be nice to have Vigilance look the way it supposed to, its not a game breaker.

and honestly I dont notice any problems with the frame rates.

I just got this armor last night and simply assumed it was Warden Commander Armor with different specs. I had no idea it's not supposed to look like that.

*sigh* what's next???

Should of just stayed with my 360 version, or better yet, play something else.

Looks like Bioware has its work set out for them. I think we should worry more about the too easy difficulty, frame rate drops, and sound drops than some trivial armor. If they fix the armor, there are still more freaking bugs than I could count. I would rather they start fixing the sound drops and frame rate drops so I can finally play this game...

THERE IS A PATCH!!!!  Only it addresses none of the complaints here and adds trophies for their new DLC....

The upcoming patch addresses:

- The high rate of crashing on
firmware 3.3.

- The issue where redeeming codes was no longer
showing the free download items.

- Adds the trophies for the
upcoming Darkspawn Chronicles DLC
