Shepard: I don't think I've ever seen a female krogan.
Urdnot Wreav: And you never will human.

Its speculation time. After viewing the tarp in Mordin's loyalty quest I've determined a few things.
Krogan females aren't much bigger than human males.
Krogan females don't have as large of a dorsal hump as males.
Krogan females may have redundant pectoral humps (breast analog)
Krogan females aren't as squishy as asari according to a conversation between males.

I doubt female krogans have hair or feathery filaments but it could be possible as a camouflage adaption.
The female krogan I designed has horn-like projections on her crest... but she's biotic. Mutation likely.
Shepard got a breeding offer :)

Ah yes Krogan females, the apparent second gender of the krogan species, we have dismissed this claim

Designed? Like, drawn or something? Can you show it? This kind of speculation is interesting.

I'd have liked a renegade option to accept that breeding request.

The tarp is generic, the same tarps-on-bodies can be seen in Garrus' base during the Archangel mission and a few other places.

Also, the size of the tarp isn't really telling, since autopsy or Maelon's experiments may have mutilated the body.

I'm pretty sure Wreav is just referring to the fact that krogan females are highly valued and kept sequestered. He doesn't like you nearly as much as Wrex does, and would never even consider letting you into the female camp (I feel like Wrex would be cool with it, although getting the permission of the female leader would be another issue altogether).

You know what? I'd love if there was an option to go to the female camp, but when you get there all you see are big boxes with exclamation marks that say "MESH NOT FOUND"

I recall the the scouting master on tuchanka saying that the women and children are weak. weak. Maybe it wasn't only a sexist thing. what if krogan females are more humanoid/human-like than the males.

then again, what if the varren are the krogan females<_<

I'd expect them to be as large as males. Maybe even larger and definitely fuller in the abdomen. They lay hundreds of eggs at a time, they have to be built for that.

By weakness of females he's likely refering to how slow/vulnerable the fertile ones carrying hundreds of eggs in their belly, eating for 200 babies etc are. Grunt mentions Shiagur who killed many Turians before falling herself.

The babies are likely weakened by the genophage, many are stillborn before they can break out of their eggs.

What about that envoy to the female camp? He/she talked weird, so maybe it is a female?

Yeah, if you talk to him a few more times he tells you he's put off his Rite for the honor of speaking for the females. He sounds weird because he's pre-pubescent, by krogan standards.

I thought the ambassador from the one female camp on the second floor near the Shaman was a female.

Hence the silly voice.

I wouldn't be surprised if female Krogan look very similar to the males. Seeing as how the Krogan are somewhat more reptilian, I think the species might not be as sexually dimorphic as humans. They suffer from the Bloodlust the same as male Krogan, and as others have said, some Warlords were female. A female Krogan squad-mate could give us a different perspective on the species in ME 3.

That's extremely humanoid for a krogan, I don't think they differ SO much from males. From a fanservicey point of view it would make sense, but really, there's enough fanservice already.

I drew some Krogan females myself, but let me tell you that I wasn't fully able to picture them with all the characteristics I think make sense:
-The crest. I couldn't imagine a krogan without a crest, so I just made it smaller, and not as pointy. Sadly you can't see that in this drawing.
-The hump. Actually, I'm not sure about this. Think about how human women's bodies handle fat: it's stored way differently than men, because it's needed for something else (breeding). If Krogan humps help their survival, shouldn't they be bigger for mothers? Or smaller, because we're used to the "females are smaller" topic?

Also, I refuse to believe Krogan females are defenseless. I can definitely picture armored female guards stationed near... ahem... "Supervising the rites". The krogan in the game sometimes sound like they're talking about women as a resource, but I don't think they can make demands to the female camp... If you know what I mean. So they have to take care of children, how does that stop them from picking up a shotgun and blowing up their enemies?

It isn't that they are physically weak. The males would just outnumber and slaughter them. Kill the clan females and you kill the clan.

Secondary humps (breasts) actually make sense for a krogan considering how redundant krogans are. Being able to feed offspring during drought or famine from stored fat makes sense. Having the auxillary humps in the front allows the female to carry and feed the offspring while being able to quickly escape predators. The fatty fluid is probably closer to blood and secondary nerve fluid than milk. Krogan milk would probably tear up a human's digestive tract.

This has been mentioned a few times, dude. That's a teenaged male.
