More RPG elements, less planet mining. Sounds good so far.

Cool! If they manage to pull it off, we'll have perfect balance between ME1 and ME2. Now, back to waiting... Only couple of years more...

I seriously doubt they'll take several years, it has to come out before the 360's life cycle is up...

I liked mining up until I was doing my tenth planet. On my first playthrough. Then I didn't like mining anymore.

I was honestly worried about the same thing.

I hate it when PC games are hindered by being developed with consoles in mind. Only if consoles didn't come in generations...

Meh don't be grumpy. Not having to upgrade my machine for ME3 is actually a good thing in my book.

The sooner it comes out the better.

I say it comes out in late 2011. Sounds reasonable, right?

So long as it doesn't get the Kotor2 treatment, and have the epic ending to an epic story cut to bare threads just so they can make a release date, I'm cool with whatever date they choose to release it.

That's why PC games (unlike the PC version of ME2) actually have performance options which allow you to play on older machines.

Besides, it's not just the graphics etc, it's also the amount of content. With X360 you have to swap discs and that potentially limits the amount of content in the game. With the PC, no such limitation exists except financially, which is why I said it'd be great if consoles didn't come in generations.

Well from what I've seen, that was LucasArt pushing Obsidian on that one. Plus Obsidian seem to cut content for release dates every now and then. I'm sure Bioware will take as much time as it takes to give us the finale everyone wants.

I think they should make it a bit more like fallout 3 in terms of RPG style e.g. there can be infinate possible character combinations and you can pick up random objects. These could be things such as space gel or different creature species? (just suggestions)

I read some dev talking about ME3 coming out in early 2011 since they have the story & stuff ready and they only need to visualize it. I think it was in some part of the "Making of Mass Effect 2" series.

Thats right but a huge amount of sales goes to the consoles crowd and that means bigger development budgeds to start with. Its not all that bad :)

Then why didn't you say that before?

Sorry I'm just messing around. Did not want to have the old comsoles vs. PC war to start here.

Not saying you wanted to start it. I'll just shut up...

I think one of the more obvious ways to improve RPG features is to make character building more complex - have branching skill/power trees and so forth. I liked how the Engineer got bonuses on research, I feel like every class should have similar, unique non-combat options. As an example, they could make it so that the more advanced your AI Hacking power is, the longer you have to bypass and hack terminals. They could also separate skills and powers. You could have the fitness, electronics, and so on skills paired with the powers like Warp, Adrenaline Rush and so on.

I don't get what you are saying about this consoles and generations. Are you saying it's a shame they need to rush the game out to hit this generation of console? Or are you saying it's a shame the graphics and power is limited to this generation?

I think he was saying it's a pity that the gameplay, complexity, and storyline has to be dumbed down to satisfy the average drooling ADHD-affected console player.
