I hate it when PC games are hindered by being developed with consoles in mind. Only if consoles didn't come in generations...

Meh don't be grumpy. Not having to upgrade my machine for ME3 is actually a good thing in my book.

Well people didn't have to upgrade for Mass Effect 2...it runs even better than the first did!

Well hopefully they'll be smart enough with ME3 to cut something out and then release it as paid DLC after 2-3 months. After "blowing through" ME2 (I pretty much skipped through all of the dialogue and went with the choices that ended the conversation faster [except for the times where the Charm/Intimidate options were available]), I realized how short the game could be. I just need "enough" to get me satisfied which I hope will be the case when I have the $50 to throw down.

I really have no idea if you are being serious or sarcastic.

I think they should make it a bit more like fallout 3 in terms of RPG style e.g. there can be infinate possible character combinations and you can pick up random objects. These could be things such as space gel or different creature species? (just suggestions)

No.

I don't get what you are saying about this consoles and generations. Are you saying it's a shame they need to rush the game out to hit this generation of console? Or are you saying it's a shame the graphics and power is limited to this generation?

I think he was saying it's a pity that the gameplay, complexity, and storyline has to be dumbed down to satisfy the average drooling ADHD-affected console player.  :devil:

Ahahah. Lol. Close but not quite.

@VirtualAlex

I was saying that it's unfortunate that PC games that are developed with consoles in mind are restricted in quality by the fact that the current generation of consoles is years old. If consoles didn't come in generations - in other words, if their hardware progressed continuously like that of PC's - no such problem would exist for us PC players.

In the case of ME2, it wouldn't really have been such a big deal if they'd allowed us to totally remap the controls and actually added the option to tweak settings. It was a huge letdown that ME2 didn't contain an ultra-high texture set when ME1 did.

Speaking as a console user, the fact that they come in generations is the reason I prefer them. I'm not interested in tinkering with my gaming machine, I just want it to run. With a console, I know I'm buying something that will be the standard for years, and I won't have to worry about hardware specs anymore. A lot PC users seem to enjoy the tinkering aspect, of course.

I'd be pretty pissed if the highest resolution setting got cut out of my version to accommodate a dated hardware that other people are using too, though.

That could easily be solved by making console games with different graphics/performance settings, just like PC games. They might even make the game automatically recognize your console hardware and adjust the graphics settings accordingly. You wouldn't have to tinker with anything, but those who have paid for the latest version of the console (and those who have the latest PC components) would get their money's worth.

Many PC users think the way you do. They want to buy a PC and not have to tinker with it. That's why PC games have settings that allow them to be played on older machines.

Wait ... huh? Isn't tinkering where the fun is?

Oh wait. I'm just remembering that there are some people who don't use their cars to street race down mountain roads.
