So... what the heck happens when you side with either side? Anyone know both outcomes? Kill the magister for the War, or persuade him via his brothers request that revenge isn't the answer?

If you slay the magister, War will gift you a dragonbone longsword, with similar (though inferior) stats to the Keening Blade.



If you persuade War to slumber in peace, then Peace will give you the recipes for Greater and Potent Stamina potions.



You can side with Peace and slay the Magister after, but you won't get the sword.
