Anyone know what the outcome of siding with either statue is?

I got them to calm down and I think I got an item off of them... went off to beat the crap out of the Revenant afterwards and got a bit of gold from the corpse.

For killing the Magister for the Statue of War, you get to click on the sword at his feet called "Dane's tribute". You receive "The Winter Blade", a Dragonbone sword that's 11.20 with +0.5 armor penetration, +4 attack and +3 cold damage. This also results in +2 approval rating from Oghren.
When I calmed the statue, the Statue of Peace said something about whispering in my ear about "lore of the earth"; secret herbs... but you don't get anything material. This path results in +2 approval from Nathaniel.
So, basically... take a sword you probably won't ever use, or be a goody goody and get nothing but "lore" (which didn't even yield a codex entry). Blah.
Not sure if this is coincidence either, but when I killed the Magister for War, it dropped 10 soverigns. When I calmed him, THEN killed the Magister, I got a Greater Health Poultice/Greater Lyrium Potion. I really hope calming the War guy at least resulted in more experience... I didn't bother to check.

The magister is behind you if you are facing the statues, down the path to the right and around.
I thought the "lore" was a crafting recipe. Never really paid attention.
