Hey,

I read in another thread that if you let Howe go, he will eventually find his way back to you and ask to join. I have done my first playthrough and I let him go "He isn't his father", and I beat them game afterwards (a few sidequests, but not all) and he never came back. Is there something in particular that triggers him?

Thanks,

I let him go the first time and he never came back to Vigil's keep, I think you were lied to.

Every time I let him he go he appears in a random event the next time I leave the keep begging me to let him join the wardens since he has nowhere else to go.

I let him go, and he finds me as soon as I leave the keep asking to Join the Wardens.

Sorry for the necro, but I'm having this issue as well, I let him go and I can't seem to trigger his return. Suggestions anyone?

Solved: for anyone having this problem in the future; I think the key is to make sure that the first thing you do upon releasing him is go to Amaranthine, then back to the keep. It should trigger. The other times I tried, I went to do the kidnappers quest first. Hope this helps.

Hmm. I've done the kidnappers and the Turnobles first on my first playthrough as well, but he did show up after I went to Amaranthine. And on my second one I kept travelling between Amarathine and the Keep to trigger his encounter, but it only did after I got the info from the Merchant's Guild for my first main quest.
