I have been having this issue since the patch.

I launch the game, whether I launch using the DA:O launcher or Steam doesn't matter, and I get the Vista Loading Circle and a black screen forever and ever.... Before the patch I would get a massive slow down of my entire PC as the game started but Alt-Tabbing would fix it instantly, since the patch Alt-Tabbing turns the computer into a Commador 64 and not only does nothing happen with the game, but it becomes impossible to do anything at all. The mouse moves 10 seconds after moving it, click on something and it takes 30 seconds to do anything, etc...

Worked great all week and this morning. Crashed to desktop and upon restart hasn't worked since.
