I've now got a lvl 27 Adept and a lvl 30 Soldier, Infiltrator, and Vanguard.  Am creating either a Sentinel or Engineer next and want to know (if anyone cares), what I should pick next.  Plan on making a couple of vids showcasing either one using my regular style of play - as aggressive as possible - and would welcome any community feedback.

Also, if anyone has any requests for videos of certain missions with certain classes, just send me a PM or post them in one of the threads I'm usually trolling around.

Sentinel, I bailed a friend of mine out of his Engineer Insanity slump half a month ago.

I say go for the Sentinel. It's the only class I haven't played at all, and while Engineer is fun I'm going to think selfishly. ^_^

I would love to see a Sentinel guide listing the optimal builds. Heavy use of warp explosions at the beginning of fights followed up with an agressive play style making use of the Tech Armor would be great. Tons of fun to watch.

I've always wanted to start a Sentinel but I just haven't been able to break away from the Vanguard as of yet. Your Vanguard guide and videos helped me give that class another shot so who knows, if you do the same with the Sentinel I may finally be able find some inspiration.

Good hunting my bearded friend.

Seems to be plenty of engineer videos already, so Sentinel gets my vote.

Although to be honest I'd rather see a shotgun Adept, as I haven't seen one of those yet.

Sentinel always becomes boring for me. I'd like to see a caster/assault Sentinel mix. Maybe take Raider and Assault Armor and mix the two playstyles

Sentinel owns. Tech Armour lets you do suicide runs that would kill other classes. You get super fast cooldowns. Overall its a really offensive class (far more than the namesake or ME1 Sentinel would have you believe).

Baha, shotgun adept, gauntlet has been thrown there. If you pull that off you'll transcend beard to a universe consisting of rocks, explosives, beer and roar.

Edit: Of engineer/sent, I'd have to go with sent. We all know it can be played aggresively, and Darnalak has a guide for it, but there are very few videos of aggressive assault play vs aggressive engi play. Thinking about it I don't think I've actually seen one.

I'll go Sentinel then.  BTW why is the Shotgun Adept supposed to be so hard?  I have Samara's and Thane's recruitment mission + their Loyalty and Garrus and Mordin's that I can do post Collector ship.  If you guys want to see a Shotgun Adept, which mission?

Shotgun adept is such a dumb idea. Adept has so few skills that mesh with the shotgun. What is the gimmick? Singularity, and then run in to shotgun? Why? Warping is already better, and Pull+Shotgun is better as well except the vanguard does that better. The whole idea is just all gimmick. I am sure thisisme could make it work, but it wouldn't be all that fun to watch. You would still need to CC/Kill almost everyone before even considering moving in since Adept has no staying power. Shelf this idea please.

Engineer seems pretty boring to me, I think Gatsby probably did it the best way to could to make it interesting. Playing a more Drone/aggro/CQC style. It's been done, a caster engineer just seems pretty boring and predictable.

Clearly sent is the best choice. The best part about it is there are two very distinct ways to play it, you could respeck and show off both. There is plenty of freedom on how you play, and you can create tons of awesome CQC situations.

Do it. Lots of sick videos please.

I'm going to go on a limb here, Shotgun Adept, Collector Vessel, your choice of characters.

Personally on the standby, I've used the AR too much and have wanted to see what a shotty could do.

So after much deliberation and pretty much 100% of your votes, I just made my Sentinel.  Will play around with it for a couple days and then start making vids.  Any suggestions are welcom.

Also, I think I may have to agree with VirtualAlex...  the whole idea of a Shotgun Adept seems counterintuitive.

Sorry...  it's just so much easier with an AR.

I know, hence I want to see if someone else has done it, or if someone else will, as I'm close to getting my weapon spec for my new Adept.

Well at least someone finally made that video. Of course it can be done. But the skills just don't mesh at all. Pull+Shoot is pretty much the best you can do.

Shotgun sentinel, now that opens the door for some serious action packed buttkicking.

I played a Sentinel on Insanity and chose the shotgun. It was fun. I'm playing a Soldier and Infiltrator currently and they are a cake walk. They are too easy. I have yet to play the Engineer much but I gotta say the Sentinel feels like the only balanced class on Insanity. Your armor gets you close but is not a guarantee. You really don't need a bonus power if you build your squadmates correctly and use them on the correct missions.

Garrus - ap squad

Jacob - incendiary squad

Jack - warp squad

Zaaed - disruptor squad but not really needed cause you have overload

Pre-horizon, Miranda can be sidelined as she's just a gimped version of the Sentinel. Mordin can be sidelined if you have Jacobs squad incendiary. Jacob and Jack are excellent squadmates cause they have pull to go along with your warp. Grunt essentially becomes Jacob without pull. I did horizon with Jacob and Zaeed.

Post-horizon if you have squadmate points saved above you dont need a bonus power. I did a lot of loyalty missions with my those squadmates having 10 unused points. Also Jack can play a role in a few loyalty or recruit missions. Did Tali's recruit with Jack and Miranda and we tore through that mission.

I did collector ship with Mordin and Jack and with only 1 pt in reave. Post platforms was hard and in retrospect I should have taken Garrus.

The IFF was a cake walk with Mordin and Garrus. The suicide run was a breeze cause I respecced into Ap squad and took Legion + Mordin -part 1, Mordin + Thane - part 2, Legion + Samara - part 3. With Samara you have 2 throws and area reave and with Legion you have a drone in case Harbinger shows up, which might not happen cause you'll tear through and throw 3 collectors before he spawns.

The only drawback about choosing the shotgun is that it's oh so painful to plink away at the reaver larva with you tempest SMG and your carnifex hand canon. But the shotgun is definitely the way to go as it just feels right for an assault sentinel.

So far, I've had the most fun with the Sentinel because you can actually use all sorts of teamate combinations if you use one squadmate that has squad ammo powers. This frees up the Sentinel to spec into his powers, throw, warp, overload, cryo, armor and passive.

It would be interesting, post Horizon, to see if you can make a Barrier/GSB + Power Armor stacked shield combo work. Even with all that shield, I think on insanity it would still not make enough difference to warrent the 20 points, but on casual, its kind of hilarious.

Also interesting if you Sub-Overload for E-Drain (you'd have to sacrifice cryoblast) and get Heavy throw before heavy warp. Or trying to make cryo blast work maxed out. Or doing cryo+throw combos.

Thank you very much, that was a very informative post. I've really been thinking about going Sentinel- seeing the use of its plus side so well explained, I think I'll go for it!

I need a capture card for my 360.

Regardless, I'll stick to using my AR.

Yes.Is there a video where a vanguard charged a krogan boss?Someone with barrier and armor.Would be intersting to see. With singularity you could get close with those guys.(+some protection talent like barrier or get shield boost)

From personal experience, both of those don't really help that much on Insanity.  Also, we have a video of a Vanguard charging the Geth Collosus.

No problem.  I got a lot of ideas from  Darnalak's  guide.  Read his original post and you'll get a lot of other ideas.
