Defended Amarathine, ordered the messenger to be killed but he lived in the epilogue ?, left Oghren, Nathaniel, Justice at the Keep. Killed The Architect and The Mother. Ohgren's a deadbeat, a hilarious deadbeat though. Nathaniel lived and eventually left to find his fortunes. Justice had his head cut off by a Darkspawn, Velanna went back to find her sister eventually, Anders came back to the Wardens (my dawg), and Sigurn went to finish what she started. My Warden went chasing after the dark haired woman (still have her ring!). Lost all of my equipment (Sentinel armor, The Mother's Chosen and Ser Alvard's Sword, masterpiece runes, topnotch belt and rings, etc.) in the crypt in Wending Woods, that suuucked.

How does your decision regarding where you send your guards (town, countryside, trade) effect the ending? Did anyone have all their characters live and choose to send the guard to the countryside?

Is there a better ending for Sigrun then her mysteriously disppearing one night to "Finish what she started"?
Yes. I did her quest and had her at full approval so even though she tells me she's decided to run off to her calling early at one point, I always keep finding emergencies she needs to help with personally so she's still around decades later but keeps joking about throwing herself at death. Killing the Architect probably helped with that but then I had Justice and Sigrun with me and they both wouldn't even consider sparing him like I've heard other companions do.
The only non-good ending I got was when Velanna disappeared when the tower fell on her. I probably should have taken her with me and she would have gotten a better one, but since I was planning on killing the Architect she wouldn't have been pleased either way.
I really wish that when Anders asked you where you were going when all this was over with you had more options. I know that when playing a King or Queen you could say you're going back to court or you could say you were going to stay on as a Warden or just up and leave, but you got more options when Alistair or Anora asked you in the end on Origins. My character, for instance, was a Paragon who wanted to go back to Orzammar and help with the retaking of Thaigs, but was there any way to tell Anders that? No.

I just realised that my end wasn't that bad....
Justice wouldve found it justified that Aura could bury Kristoff...
Velanna clearly escaped the scene with her keeper abilities, she does that in the wendingwoods as well...
And sigrun wanted to fight darkspawn and get to die while doing so....
I feel sorry for explosives dwarf though, that he got threathened by the qunari merchant....

Left Sigrun, Valenna, and Oghren behind.
Killed Mother, and in another file killed Architect and Mother. In my killing Architect and Mother file, the codex said Oghren died at the keep, but when I beat the game it said Oghren just passed out for two weeks.
Valenna disappears, Sigrun dies, and Oghren passes out. Nathaniel saves someone and is okay, Anders leaves but comes back, Justice looks up at the sun and disappears, and I go back to court with Alistair only to disappear years later (which I am REALLY upset about).

I chose to defend the city of Amaranthine with Anders, Justice and Nathaniel. It was the right thing to do for my Libertarian Mage: there were civilians to be saved, while the Keep was manned by Grey Wardens and well-armed soldiers.
- Anders will remain with the Grey Wardens to train the Order's next
generation of mages. When he is called by the Circle of Magi to deliver a
lecture on the nature of the Architect - much to the templars' dismay
-, he tells the Commander of the Grey that his time with the Order is
over. However, not two months later, he returns and the Wardens remain
his home and lasting companions. - Justice serves with the Order for many years, keeping in touch with
Kristoff's wife, Aura, during his stay. Eventually however, Aura informs
him that she can no longer tolerate her husband's rotting body. Justice
bids her goodbye, and Kristoff's body slumps to the ground. Where the
spirit goes, no one knows. - Nathaniel will dedicate himself to the Order and to clearing the
blemishes on his family's name. After saving Teyrn Fergus Cousland from a
bandit attack, a portion of Amaranthine is returned to the Howes.
Nathaniel passes the holding to his sister Delihah's son. When a new
castle is built there, a statue of Nathaniel is erected in its
courtyard. - Oghren rallies a last-minute defense of the gate, taking on two ogres simultaneously to
allow others time to regain the courtyard. He eventually passes out from
blood loss and wakes up weeks later, suprised that he has been credited
as a hero. - Sigrun (I go with my memory here) remained in the Deep Roads - I did not take her as a Warden - battling the darkspawn and sometimes a traveller beneath the ground stumbled upon her, alone and mumbling something about her incoming death.
- Velanna was left to defend the Keep, and tthe surviving defenders watch in horror as a section of
stone collapses upon her. When the rubble is later cleared, no body is
found. Velanna is just gone. - Vigil's Keep holded against the Darkspawn army for days in a row before the
attacking horde broke upon her walls. Although greatly outnumbered, the
soldiers' silverite armor allow them to kill a dozen darkspawn each
before falling. The keep developed an almost mythic reputation, the few
survivors immortalized in song and legend. When the magnitude of the
losses came to light, sympathy drove generous donations from all over
Ferelden into the region's coffers. Vigil's Keep was restored to it's
former glory in five years. - I let the Disciple Messenger go and... the city soon buzzes with stories of a cloaked but lisping figure who
helps travelers in danger. At the same time, reports of isolated cases
of the darkspawn disease emerge, but no one connects the two. - I trusted the Architect and... the Architect will keep true to his word, freeing the darkspawn from the
Old Gods' call and gathering his remaining disciples to follow the rest
of their kind back underground. Those Grey Wardens in other nations
were appalled to hear of the Architect's continued existence, but were
unable to track him down despite years of effort. However, darkspawn
sightings grow increasingly rare and the dwarves claim that the Deep
Roads have never been quieter.

I'm quite pleased with my ending.
Killed both mother and architech (i dont trust that guy, at all.)
Saved city, lots of ppl survived, got rebuild in a year.
Vigil's keep stood for a week, then oghren killed 2 ogres, anders a wave of darkspawn, and justice got his head chopped off just before the end, leaving the body for Aura to bury.
Sigrun isolated herself more and more, then left for her calling.
Anders left, then came back 2 weeks later.
Nathaniel became a good warden, and got some of the Howe's land back, which he gave to his sisters son(or daughter, can't remember
)
Oghren became a hero for the ogre thing, Felsi visited with their child, but the visits became less frequent untill they stopped, with Oghren not seeming to mind.
Velanna was angry i'd killed the architech, because now she couldnt find her sister, but she was still a friend. She then saved a human village all by herself.
I returned to court with Anora, and even she broke out into a smile at my return, ready for some royal warden lovin'! YEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!
Though i'm abit annoyed there was _nothing_ about Morrigan in this expansion, she is still my wardens true love, but a man has needs, and if Morrigan aint around, he'll have to settle for the next best thing.. Anora :>

My ending was happy:
I took Velenna, Justice, and Sigrun with me and defended Amaranthine, leaving just Anders and Nathanial to defend the keep (I never recruited Oghren). We saved Amaranthine, and it returned to its former glory in a year. The Keep held for a week because of its awesome defenses, but Anders and Nathanial both survived and kicked butt. The survivors became legends.
I killed the Architect and the Mother The only "negative" things that happened in all my epilogue were that Justice left Kristoff's body when his wife couldnt stand him anymore, Velenna left to look for her sister, and Sigrun eventually became isolated and left. Tho those don't really bug me too much.
Then I stopped being Warden Commander and me and Alistair eventually disappeared....

I have a question:
Do you only disappear with your love interest if it's Alistair? I haven't read of anyone disappearing with Leliana or Zevran - it's just kind of unsettling to know that you can only disappear with your LI if it's Alistair..
I of course disappeared alone without Alistair because he was king; going to replay a different file to disappear with him.

It's not just Alistair. I went off with Leliana, although I'm not sure whether it used the term 'disappear'.

Even if the epilogue doesn't use the word disappear, even if you romanced Zevran or Leliana, you'll be reunited with your LI and your fate is left uncertain... "perhaps they are adventuring together still"

I saved the keep, seemed the best choice according to the "Grey Wardens do what is nessecary to defeat the Darkspawn" theme.
Then I let the Architect live and slew the mother. Thought the issue to prevent future Blights was for the greater good.
then i left searching fo someone....

Mine actually turned out somewhat better than the the original Origins ending (alliterations ftw?), I think.
Sigrun, Nate, and Velanna came with me to Amaranthine, but I ended up abandoning the city to save Vigil's Keep. Part of being a good commander is recognizing that you can't save everybody and when to abandon lost causes, and Amaranthine definitely fit the bill. The Architect overwhelmed me with awesome so I ended up trusting him (Nathanial also agreed, and though I didn't particularly like him he was the most objective out of the part of him, Velanna, and Justice).
Anders stuck with the Wardens, Felsi broke up with Oghren, Velanna and Nate disappeared, and Sigrun left for her Calling.
Since I ordered the soldiers to defend the roads, Vigil's Keep wound up becoming a major trade post and eclipsed Amaranthine in importance.
So yeah. Aedan eventually left Vigil's Keep and headed west into Orlais, finally getting around to doing what I told him to do months ago at Alistair's coronation. Never did take off Morrigan's ring - I'm a sentimental idiot, I guess.

These are from the epilogue (thank to a kind soul in Zevran thread) if wanna know the outcome with Alistair in the ending :
"After a number of years, however, neither she nor Alistair were seen again. Perhaps they undertook some mission on behalf of the Grey Wardens, or departed for their own adventures, or... simply disappeared. Most assume their tale is far from complete...
"Some claimed she returned to Alistair, her true love, and a life far away from both Ferelden and the royal court. Some say that she served the Grey Wardens elsewhere, Alistair at her side, or that the two of them were seen often at the palace in Denerim.
"She returned to life at court, resuming her duties as queen of Ferelden and receiving a hero's welcome when she rode back into the capital. King Alistair awaited her at the palace gates, grinning from ear to ear.
I don't if that's all because I've read in that thread that your pc can leave Alistair side to go wonder.

Alistair was king, I was his chancellor/mistress. We disappeared together. It was slightly confusing. Guess we don't care about Ferelden much.
The above post is exactly what I got, minus the part about returning as queen an alistair grinning.

I just obtained a much more satisfying finale, by taking Velanna to the Lair of the Mother. Here she has a chance to meet again with her sister, and she's amongst the most eager to accept the Architect's offering. I like this finale better, even because she survived the final battle - as did Anders, back at the Keep (I saved Amaranthine) - and she left the orders several years later to search for her sister in the Deep Roads.

I just finished my Orlesian playthrough and got a new epilogue card regarding Velanna so I thought I'd share. In my first game, she asked to be a Grey Warden and I told her no. Never heard from her again. Didn't get an epilogue card. In my second game, I ran into her at camp while she was mourning at the shallow graves. After all was said and done, I wished her luck in finding her sister. (I wanted to see if she would show up again later and ask to join my group. Never saw her again.) This time I got an epilogue regarding her fate:
But Velanna had remained in the Wending Wood to search, unsuccessfully, for her sister. She considered the wood her territory and summoned sylvans to frighten the merchants. The traders soon abandoned the Pilgrim's Path and found a different route to Denerim -- longer, but much less dangerous.
In my first game, I protected the trade routes. In the second one, I protected the city. I don't know if that impacts the Velanna epilogue. Doubtful. Just FYI.

I wonder if your approval levels help.
I took Justice, Sigrun (not my first choice but I didn't want to dissapoint her) and Anders to defend the city. I defended it well and saved it was well as most of its citizens: the captain screwed up his earlier estimate it seems because it said only a few were tainted or killed.Within a year, it was fully rebuilt.
The keep was fully upgraded and Velenna, Ohgren, and Nate were there. Velenna was buried but not body found, Ohgren lead a charge to hold the gate (and took on two ogres at the same time) before passing out from blood loss but survived. Nate kicked butt too and was hailed as a hero. Later on, some of his lands were passed back to his family.
Anders served well as a warden, took a break, but came back. Sigurn became despondent and eventually left, probably because I saved the Architect. Justice served for years and visited with Aura until his body collapsed and he was buried. No word what happened to his spirit.
As for the keep, it was heavily damaged (took five years to rebuild) but it was fully upgraded and DI NOT FALL despite heavy casualties. It is not a thriving trading mecca. Survivors went onto to become the inspirational Silver Order. Also, the farmer I spared founded a knightly Order that stood for 1000 years. The Wardens had a fit over sparing the Architect but the Blights have abated... for now.
Overall, a rather happy ending. I LOVE being a hero!

How was this ending obtained?
And I think the first ending you posted comes after one of the other two.. cuz I got the last ending, and then later it said "After a number of years, blah blah blah she disappeared".
