The Keep is inhabited by Soldiers, they knew the danger and are capable of defending themselves, the civilians on the other hand can't, they rely on our help, so i did my duty.

I got Sigrun last, and due to the low 125 inventory cap. Had to leave the dwarf ruins numerous times to sell gear.
On my return to the keep, i had Sigrun take the joining.
Then i headed to the other city looked at some market stall and got +100 approval for Sigrun. Bug?
Regardless there was no personal quest for her. And she died? Leading the charge at the keep in my ending.
It seems that 3 companions are for the Architect's death and 3 against.
Sigrun, Justice and Anders are for his death.
Vel, Og and Nath are against.

I never thought about leaving Kal-Hirol to make Sigrun a Grey Warden! Very nice catch, my friend!

Apparently there's a bug that prevents us from getting Sigrun's quest. I've read that if you do "Law and Order" before you get Sigrun, then the NPC she needs will not spawn. So, in other words, probably best to hold off on Amaranthine quests until you get Sigrun in your party. Her epilogue should be more positive as a result.Perpetual Sin wrote...

Edit: Link to thread talking about Sigrun's quest specifically if you want more info.

My Orlesian ending says:Ceridraen wrote...
I've seen people talking about their Origins character's ending - what happens to the new Warden? Does he/she stick around?
The commander's exploits became legends. Crowds lined the street when [warden] appeared, and in politics, the commander eventually won enthusiastic loyalty from nearly all the arling's vassals. But with popularity came rivalry and jealousy. Life was never dull.
Some years later, the Commander of the Grey was abruptlly called to the Wardens' fortress at Weisshaupt, departing the very evening that a small cutter docked at Amaranthine. Some suggested a new Blight had begun close on the heels of the last, and that the commander had been called to action.
Whatever the truth, she did not return to Vigil's Keep again. Her legacy, however, shall be felt for many years to come ...

Got Velanna last, so I couldn't recruit her. All others were Grey Wardens.
Considering Reputation, I got Nathaniel, Anders and Sigrun at 100, Justice at 93, Ohgren at 65 and Velanna at 43.
I did Justice's and Anders' sidequest. Could not do Ohgren's sidequest because of the reputation bug and could not do Velanna's sidequest because I could not recruit her as a Grey Warden. I did not get any sidequest from Sigrun despite her reputation at 100. And I am not too sure if I did Nathaniel's sidequest though I returned the bow to him.
Vigil's Keep was fully upgraded.
I tried to protect everything with the guards.
The uprisers were given grain, I set the deserter free as well as the shepherd.
My actions:
I killed both the Architect and Mother. My main character is a sort of chaotic good Warden, so both being Darkspawns both had to die.
This in mind I also killed the messenger after he helped me to defend Amaranthine.
I left the least liked characters and Sigrun at the keep, so I took Nathaniel, Anders and Justice with me to defend Amaranthine. Ohgren, Sigrun and Velanna stayed to defend the keep. I liked Sigrun but Nathaniel was the better rogue for me considering that I skilled both very different.
Outcome:
The Darkspawn withdrew to the Deep Roads after the Architect and the Mother were dead but this means that another Blight will happen in the future.
Amaranthine was rebuild within 1 year, Vigil's Keep within 5 years with the financial help of the Ferelden population.
The smuggler's goods were distributed to the survivors.
Although I told the Lieutenant to kill the Darkspawn messenger (see above), he was still alive and set free, becoming the cloaked mysterious Robin Hood of Dragon Age, spreading his disease once in a while.
There were many uprisings from the arling's peasants and those had to be put down by force :-/
The farmer's were thankful for protecting their lands but got lazy and kep telying on the Wardens for protection.
The Keep was held for over a week.
The Vigil became a trading hub.
It seems that the Dark Wolf killed Bann Esmerelle and others because they still were planning a conspiracy against me. (I paid the Dark Wolf to investigate the conspiracies)
The sheepherder Alec turned Ser Alec and founded an order of knights which lasted a thousand years.
Vigilance was stolen by the Antivan Crows!
The Vigil's soldiers came to be known as the Silver Order.
At the Pilgrim's Path humans and dalish don't get along with eachother.
Kal'Hirol was reclaimed by the dwarves once and for all.
The Blackmarsh was besettled again.
Companions:
- Anders remained with the Grey Wardens as a tutor for new mages, was called to the circle of magi to give lectures on the Architect, left and came back two months later.
- A wall collapsed on Velanna but no body was found.
- Nathaniel saved Teyrn Fergus Cousland and a portion of Amaranthine was returned to his family. He passed the holding to his nephew and got his statue.
- Justice remained with the Grey Wardens, visited Aura often until she could no longer witness the decay of Kristoff's body, then he left the body never to be seen again (though I am sure he was responsible for the deaths of the two new inhabitants of the Baroness' mansion in the Blackmarsh).
- Sigrun died in honor at the Keep.
- Ohgren did take out two ogres and became a hero. (Though my codex entries said Ohgren died at the keep !!! I was sooooo happy that he finally died because I hated him in DA:O and hated him in DA:A. He is my least liked companion in off all companions in both games. God, why is he still alive and Sigrun dead. I hate that.)
Felsi returned to Vigil's Keep with their child but Ohren - being the dumb a**hole he is - did not treat them good and their visits ceased.
Me, I returned to Leliana and was seen with her one year later in Denerim.

After the story, sympathetic donations came in, Amaranthine rebuilt in a year, Vigil's in 5.
Took Anders, Justice and Nate with me. Sigrun I left at the keep. She went out in a blaze of glory leading a charge on the Darkspawn (I assume she died nothing more was said). I never took Oghren or Velanna in my group so I assume he was with Alistair in the Bannorn and she was still looking for her ghoul sister. Anders left to give a lecture on the Architect at the Circle but came back to the Wardens 2 months later and stayed. Justice left the body of Kristoff behind so Aura would have a husband to mourn and Nate rescued my PC's brother, Teryn Fergus from bandits, got back some of Amaranthine which he left to his family. A statue was erected of him so I guess he became a hero/redeemed his family's name.
Peasants never revolted again after I had to put it down rather violently the time they did come into the keep and they ended up pretty happy with me cause I sent troops to protect the farms (when that choice came up).
Quelled the conspiracy though rumors of there still being people out there wanting the Warden dead were still being flashed around.
PC returned to being Queen and was welcomed by her hubby, Al grinning from ear to ear. Then mysteriously disappeared a couple years later.
Guess Valora Cousland's story isn't over yet.

Just as FYI, I told the Senechal spread the troops around as best as possible. The only companions I got at 100 were Anders, Valena, Nathaniel (lost 1-2 points of approval for killing the Architect with Nathaniel), and Justice. I was pretty close for Sigrun (over 90) and about 83 for Ogrhen (I don't speak drunken dwarf very well). Of the personal quests, I missed Sigrun's and Ogrhens.

"Some claimed she returned to Alistair, her true love, and a life far away from both Ferelden and the royal court. Some say that she served the Grey Wardens elsewhere, Alistair at her side, or that the two of them were seen often at the palace in Denerim.""

Oghren basically abandoned Felsi and his kid, but he didn't abandon me. I like how the game said he was my good friend, which is true. He's my favorite companion lol. Anyway, Sigrun just left one day. Anders left but came back 2 months later (he had 100+ Love towards me, which was odd).
Vigil's Keep didn't make it, but was rebuilt in 5 years anyway. Justice/Kristoff got his head chopped off. Aura got his ashes. Justice returned to being awesome elsewhere. Velanna was covered by rock, but her body was never found. I had the Howe kid executed early on.
My warden returned to Alistair (we were Gray Wardens), her one true love lol. I was happy with this. He didn't appear in game, but I didn't mind too much. The ending stated this "wasn't the last of their tales".

Anyway:
- The Orlesian Warden killed both the Architect and the Mother after saving the city of Amaranthine.
- Vigil's Keep held against the darkspawn siege. Its soldiers, clad in silverite, go on to become known as The Silver Order. Ser Alec becomes a hero.
- Of Vigil's Keep's defenders:
- Anders slaughters hundreds of darkspawn with his magic, and after the victory horn is sounded gets dragged to a fire by surviving soldiers and loses a drinking game. He leaves for the Circle of Magi but returns two months later to spend the rest of his time in the Wardens. (Personal quest completed.)
- Nathaniel rallies a last-minute defense of the gates, leading a charge against the onslaught to defend his home. Upon victory, his men hoist him upon their shoulders and parade him around. He becomes a favorite of the men, and stays with the Wardens. He later saves Teyrn Fergus Cousland's life, and a portion of the Arling of Amaranthine is restored to the Howes, which he gives to his nephew, who builds a statue to honor Nathaniel. (Personal quest completed.)
- Oghren takes on two ogres in the courtyard, passes out for two weeks due to blood loss, and awakens to be proclaimed a hero. He visits Felsi and the nugget, writes letters almost weekly - which the Warden-Commander proof-reads - and trains Warden recruits while telling them all about his battlefield and bedroom exploits. (Personal quest completed.)
- Velanna, who accompanied the Warden-Commander to the final battles, never loses her Dalish roots. She disappears into the Deep Roads some time later to look for her sister. (No personal quest.)
- Sigrun, who accompanied the Warden-Commander to the final battles, becomes lethargic and distant and disappears to commit suicide through battle with the darkspawn. I call it survivor's guilt. (No personal quest.)
- Justice, who accompanied the Warden-Commander to the final battles, remains a Warden and visits Aura until she can no longer stand the body's decomposition. On that day he wishes his comrades a farewell and drops dead, leaving the body of Kristoff for Aura to bury.

Yes, that was a nice surprise. I had been a little spoiled and was under the impression that the Keep was going to get destroyed regardless of how I had improved it and it's soldiers. I chose to save Amaranthine anyway and was happily surprised when the epilogue said that the Keep and the companions I left there survived (except Justice but he wasn't exactly living anyway).Bitterfoam wrote...
If the Keep is fully upgraded, it never gets destroyed. It just has to be rebuilt. Some things get damaged when withstanding constant attack for a week, you know.

my epilogue had Anders leaving to lead a seminar or something, until he realized he wanted to come back, Justice kept in touch with Aura before eventually leaving the body, Blond Morrigan left, Sigrun 'went against her commander' and left for the deep roads, Nathaniel saved Fergus and got some land back for his family, which i thought was nice, a Howe saving a Cousland instead of you know murdering them all. Oggie and Felsi stopped seeing each other because of his drunkenness and my Cousland met up with Leliana to adventure again, leaving his post as Commander of the keep, never to return.
also i spared the Architect, which was looked down upon but by doing so made the deep roads quieter, so screw popular opinion i did what was best. besides talking darkspawn are great.
