Well, I mean, I am the Warden Commander of Ferelden, last of the Couslands and all. Practically royalty! My party members are engaged in the perpetual ritual that is my grooming.Mlai00 wrote...
Searanox is one big hypocrit. Look at his avatar's face.
Though if you want to do the whole ad hominem thing, your spelling isn't very good.

You make a valid point. However, at the moment, I only know how to work with face morphs.
On a side note, your dwarf avatar is FREAKING AWESOME!!! ! How did you do that? Was that done through the toolset or through the ingame creation screen? Which tattoo did you use? Which base texture and base skin did you use? Would you mind posting a screenshot of your character. He's without a doubt one of the best dwarves I have seen. He looks tough too. I would love to do an Oghren design based after him.
But back on the subject, there is a mod that i would recommend which gives a dark and serious tone to the elves of Ferelden. It's a mod made by Stipling called City Elf V2-0.
"This mod brings the grimy poverty and desperation into the Alienage, painting a darker, gray portrait of the conditions that the City Elves must face."

Stipple needs to release a City Elve No Beards version of his mod. Requirement. It's basic lore.

I think the version 2.0 which is available actually does exactly that amongst other things, it has the elves without facial hairMlai00 wrote...

Making the hair all a darker shade to be aesthetically pleasing is good, but making all the characters with less than pale skin have jet black hair seems like a very generic mold to me. Just something to think about.

Posté 27 mars 2010 - 06:46
Well, it's not necessarily that everyone with a darker shade than white needs jet black hair. But rather skin 6, and skin 7 specifically should have dark hair.
Orange hair..isn't the best fit here. One of the first things that irked me when I bought Dragon Age in November was the prominent use of orange hair.

The problem is more to do with the limitations of the toolset. .
Here is the vanilla setting as a reference:

Hey, do you think maybe you could make all the characters uglier instead of prettier? I feel like Dragon Age is too full of attractive people... maybe some fatter ones, shorter ones, dirty, broken teeth? It's not like hygiene was great in the Middle Ages. Can't say I'm into the whole "videogames satisfy my sexual desires" thing either, so I think maybe I'd like some older men and women with sagging breasts and missing limbs. Seems to fit the setting much more than manicured idols do.
People love eye candy. Even Fallout 3, a game that's 2 years old now and have built a large player and mod community. I look at the # of downloads in the nexus. The ones with the eye candy get all the hits and glory.
I prefer eye candy myself. Hollywood likes eye candy in all their shows and movies, why not computer games. Remember, Sex and Beauty sells in todays world.

The only thing I don't like is the change you made to The Suspicious Character, now he just looks like Calin =/

I think you are looking more like a grittier lore version. Part of what the author is creating is characters that look less like a block of polygons, whether good or bad.

Even ground sounds good. Try to see how he looks with the old beard & new hair (likely won't look good, but it's worth a try).Petehog wrote...
I made him look sinister and suspicious looking before but somebody stated that he looked a bit too sinister.Maybe I'll try to find an even ground between the two in the next version.

Awesome that you have a release out !
How would you recommend I upgrade ? I have 6-6a installed. Should I uninstall that before installing 6.7 ? The Companion seperate installs as well ? Or can I just install the NPCs on top of 6-6a NPCs ?
Lastly, that city elf mod, can I install it without conflicting with your mod ?

In 6.6, I called a file "True eyes" and had textures for each companion...which got very messy because whenever you uninstalled a version of a companion (ie Leliana version 10a), it would remove the eyes.
In 6.7, I fixed that. I also added some other textures, besides just the eyes.
The city elf mod will conflict as we both have redesigned elves in our own style. I would say to check out both and see which fits better for you. The best way to "test-drive" is to start a campaign as a female city elf rogue. And just walk around and look at the NPCs and see which one works better for you.

It's freaking awesome? I just slapped him together during character creation. Nothing special, just the right combination of facial hair, tattoos and some changes to facial structure and skin tone to make him look gaunt and haggard.Petehog wrote...
