not everybody is as fortunate as others to have money to throw at whatever they please.
You must be playing out of your card board box? Not to be an **** but you shouldn't be playing a ton of games if you can't afford one at 40 bucks. For some of us hard core Dragon Age fans the content justifies the price for me.
Wow notice in my statement I merely imply that not everyone on this planet is fortunate enough to just buy whatever without much thought, hell I didnt even imply that you have oodles of money and you buy whatever you please, damn I didnt even label or make a point of reference to you at all. Yet you come back with that ****??? Playing from my cardboard box???
Shouldnt be playing A TON OF GAMES if YOU cant afford ONE at 40 bucks?
FOR SOME OF US HARDCORE DA FANS, lol what the **** are you talking about, what makes you SO HARDCORE??? haha really man, what makes you HARDCORE?
Because you buy a game with a logo of the company you yank it to? or is it the dragon age logo you wack it to?
If that's what you have to do to be hardcore, then I'm definitely not hardcore.
Playing Dragon Age Origins constitutes as "ton of games"?????, you're not getting the point are you, and by the way though I'm sure you REALLY meant what you said as "Not to be an **** ", but you are, and you know you are.
Why in the hell would any rational minded person just buy ****???? This aint a can of coke, games are all different, regardless of the company, just because a company makes some badass titles it doesnt mean thats all they'll produce, and never miss. So dude $40 bucks is asking alot especially considering **** aint even fixed for console versions yet FOR ORIGINS. I'm gonna take a wild guess and assume you play it on PC, right? So you're not having problems like consoles are, so you dont have a clue as to why some people OTHER THAN YOURSELF may consider this EPISODE for $40 to be pricey.
And before you swing and miss again, I'm multiplatform I dont care what kind of hardware superiority you throw out, I really dont, and just to avoid you the embarrassment from striking out, I'm 26 I'm not the STEREOTYPE you label young people with or a 15 year old, which is ignorant as hell anyways.
Wow some people in this "COMMUNITY" are some real self centered pricks.

Haha must have struck and nerve but my point stands. People rather come on the forum and moan about having to spend an extra 10 dollars on an expansion because they think it isn't worth it. 10 dollars buys me a subway sandwich and a coke. Seriously, you could do more with that hour. I don't find it to pricey, I am condifent the content is there to warrant the necessity of the 40 bucks. What makes me a hardcore fan? The fact that I like the game enough not to **** and moan about an extra 10 dollars I have to spend on it when I know I will enjoy it cause I like the game. I must ****** to it though because I am a fan though right? haha some of you are silly. If you think that this game is **** and why in the world anyone would buy it than I have no clue as to why you care so much to even argue and not just not buy it and two why you are on a forum of a game you think is ****.
Don't label the entire bioware community because of me please. I am the only ****** here and don't mind. Honestly Bioware should make a thread called "If you don't like the expansion then don't buy it" and it should be a sticky.
Developer's have to make games at these prices and these days they have a hard time fitting it in that budget. So you hear and see of all these dev companies running to larger publishers like EA and getting owned by them. Then when the publisher's take tactics to make extra money with DLCs and cuts to the game the community still moans that it is to much money. Honestly EVERYONE is lucky games are not 100 bucks already with the economy. I honestly don't know how they pull of these million dollar budget sound tracks, art, and game development time in this retail price as it is. It isn't two guys in a basement making Mortal Kombat in a week anymore yet prices of games have not changed.

How does your point stand?? 10 bucks at subway what the **** do you do buy a **** ton of food and stuff your face?
YOU dont find it pricey so that is your opinion, and last time I checked one mans opinion isnt the way of the entire world.
YOU are confident of the quality, however OTHER PEOPLE have and still experience problems, DEX not working on console 5 months later, nah DEX is no big deal at all is it? So why on earth would they be concerned at all?
Your idea of being a hardcore fan is to not say jack **** for anything bad or good because of a product........
So if with DA2 the skills are simplified and streamlined like ME2's you wont have anything to say AT ALL??
Doubt it.
There are plenty of reasons to get Awakening just not enough for alot of people, BIGGEST REASON HOLDING PEOPLE BACK, is the fact that Origins STILL HAS PROBLEMS FOR THE CONSOLE VERSIONS SOMETHING YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT, so if 5 months later a STAT for your hero is still broken what should be expected with this $40 episode?
I never said Dragon Age was **** so you're pulling things out of your ass, as usual.
You dont make any sense with anything you say, the only thing that occurs is you sounding like the world revolves around your ideas and opinions. And anyone who says different is stupid or lesser than you. Grow up, stop spending 10 at subway, just because you're eating fresh doesnt mean you have to eat that much.
EDIT TO RESPOND TO YOUR OTHER STUFF:
Back before ME2 and RtO and the way Awakening is turning out FOR SOME, I'd have gladly paid 59.99 for it with out much thought, because I'd feel assured that quality took priority, but in light of real **** that is being ignored or put on the back burner no $40 is too much to ask from SOME OF US, it's not a financial stance, it's a I'm not going to spend money on something that may have the same track record as its prior. Is that unfair of me? I dont think it is, but my opinion of my own self means dick, people seldom admit their faults and vices.
I am aware of the axe swinging at EA right now, trust me I sank down quite a bit when Pandemic got shut down, and Black Box getting "consolidated" as of recent just sucks. I'd hate for BioWare to end up in that situation but it will probably happen one day, it's not the economy it's fat cats in charge taking more than they deserve, with a get it while we can attitude.

However, because Awakening is so quick and easy and the organization of the trade skills are so frustrating its close to pointless. The Traps, Herbs, and Runecrafting recipes and items are not organized. Health pots arn't with health pots, Runes are not organized by Novice, Journey, Expert, Master, Grandmaster, Masterpiece, or by its type, lighting, fire for example. It's Lazyness, lack of common sense, and its a sad waste of the players time.
In the future, once the main story is complete, i would like to gather all my pots, money, and go to all the shops and buy expensive gear and enchant it to fight optional difficult --- extremely difficult bosses that are only unlocked once you've completed the game or certain achievements.
∙I also find it very rude or Orleasian of EA or Bioware to grey out all the areas of the map once the game is completed except for the DLC. You trap the player and make it so they cant go anywhere but premium content so they will buy it. If your going to do this i believe the content would be more valuable and fun if it were bosses instead of 20 minute areas. Instead of walking around killing one shotable mobs and happan to find a key to unlock a chest full of good gear, why not just make a boss fight that lasts for 20 minutes that drops good gear? I was expecting the Lightning Dragon to be something like this only to be let down. Wy hype up the game by a boss that only has one ability and lightning resist gear you'd assume would be needed(which its not). Why hype up the game using Werewolves on awakening front page that are only a mob found in the Black marsh that serve no reason or purpose but to fool and hype up an extremely and obviously rushed game?
-"I want the hardening your character" idea to go further. If theres one thing i hate about Japanese games its 17 year old soldier kids shooting dudes and hugging pigs because their droppings lead them to the enemy (Valkyrie Chronicles). Changing a characters personality is awesome and characters being permanitly influenced by your decisions is realistic.
- Theres too many abilities unless you plan on having multiple action bars and have 6 upkeep skills at a time that must be refreshed everytime you die. I would rather the skills be merged together and maybe recieve an ability once every two levels. You give us so many abilities but theres only so many mobs to kill in DAO-DAA that you never really discover the true intention and nature of the specific spell because you can get passed that part of the game without it.
I got passed Awakening just by auto attacking. -.-
-Bioware, you are excellent story tellers. I understand you don't want to frusterate the player with difficult encounters but i believe you could make a stronger addiction to your games if you had more customizable options using the runes but whats the point if it requires nothing of the player but auto attacking? I'm sure they would complete the game even if it required a little more work. Your stories are strong, powerful, and well done. Make us sorry that we didn't make more potions before encountering a boss fight. Make Nightmare a Nightmare. The encounter will not stop the player if your story is strong like they usually are.
-Make material quests feel more rewarding. The more difficult it is the more of a "high" the player will get once it is completed to see some awesome behemoth of a weapon on their back. Make them take 10 Masterpiece runes, make it hurt the bank. Even make the item only attainable if you allied with the right faction. If theres one thing i liked about Awakening its the fact that you got the choose if you wanted the item to be offensive or defensive. Thats a step in the right direction.
I hope these mistakes will be learned from Awakening. I want to see a game that deserves the hype and the attention. I want to see a Dragon age Origins 2.0.

Hey you yourself don't like streamlined and simplified games? I blame the console for noobifying everything to fit the controllers and the kids who own them. Mass Effect was original an xbox game? yes? I didn't play it till the PC. Oh and a foot long is 5 bucks, the chips and drink are 3 + tax...like 8.50. Again you stereotype, you're ignorant about ****, it's sad, consoles noobifying EVERYTHING to fit controllers and the KIDS who own them? That's ignorant, right? Why do you insist on doing that?
Many fail to understand that especially now, if BioWare or really most of the companies out there depending on staff and overhead so and and so forth were strictly dependent on the PC gaming market, there would be no Dragon Age, there would be no ME2, there would be no GTA, alot of games we all love and enjoy would not exist, so dont be so quick to hate on something you dont use, again I'm multiplatform, so I dont have favoritism, or elitist mentalities, I game and hope that bugs and problems are few as possible and those hopeful few get fixed ASAP, if nobody said **** about a bug, then it'd never get fixed.
Lol you'd be surprised dude, I was 230lbs, am 6'6"+ and I would eat like crazy in the Army, and wouldnt gain an ounce, it depends on your activity I guess. You just said I attacked you haha make your mind up dude.
So all of this back and forth banter was a point you say stands that 40 is cool for the PC, even though you havent shared that point until now.......ok dude lol

I want a game revolving around politics in Fereldan, we are an Arl after all, and not the darkspawn give us a new villian that becomes the main enemy in DA2.
Make the Approval System better, but maintain a high amount of conversations just not many that give approval. More insight convos with companions.
More depth to choices (a given). But Let some of the choices in game affect what happens directly in game in a very very noticeable way.
That's all that comes to mind atm. And btw if you aren't going to contribute in anyway to the OPs question. Whether you are trolling or arguing. GTFO have some respect for this individual. Contribute or GTFO.

I was going to come and say how I was let down by this expansion, but this is pretty much how I feel. The developers stated that this expansion was quite "huge," and it's not. It is so fast there is literally no time to get invested in your character, your party, or your gear. And that was the drawing factor, for me at least, in the original game.

That's what I want. What I expect is the staff to abandon the Warden Commander, possibly all of Ferelden, in favor of a time skip and a setting in a different land. After all, because the Blight was relatively low-impact, most of the other countries could simply just not care about the commander, and because if it were set in a faraway land, there wouldn't be much point in importing decisions.

-A remotely reasonable price. $47 for 20 hours? <_<
-More awesome new items and enemy types.
-Longer. And not simply because there's more battles. I want story.
-Mention of the things said in the epilogue. "Zevran helped the Wardens rebuild their order." So where the hell is he at the Keep? (Paraphrasing obviously)
Expectations:
-Another horribly rushed and abruptly-ending story.
-The exact same format that isolates everything from the main game. (Note: I understand that it would be very difficult to have otherwise, but it still bugs me.)
-Only a handful of new items and enemies, leaving you craving more.
-The same price tag.
-Another short story that isn't worth the money it cost.
Of course I'll buy it anyway, just this time I'll aim low and hopefully be pleasantly surprised.

That said, hopefully they do no more expansions. It's not Bioware's style, they do things on a grand and epic scale and need the time and space to incorporate it. The general consensus for Awakening from people I trust is that while it's a good game, it essentially pulled a Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy. The game tries to do far to much in an incredibly short time span and as a consequence everything just feels rushed and nothing really develops as it should especially towards the end and you're left trying to figure out WTF is going on and what just happened, or so I'm told. So yeah, hopefully they stick with full games and use DLC for their cash ins.

Lose the stupid I have to travel to random parts of the world to click on an object just too see how my team mate is doing! Seriously why can't I just go talk to him? But no David Gaider feels I must travel to find objects to talk to our team mates to keep the system fresh! It's just too unreal. I shouldn't have to click on an object to talk to a team mate or travel to odd locations to click on an object to further our converstation with our team mates.
Lose Darth Gaider's Jar Jar Brinks Oghren, he's not funny. Seriously. Maybe every once in a while but he is the worst character in game.
Fix the death lag in the game. Seriously, I have to wait a minute or longer sometimes till something I kill bleeds out so I can loot it or advance the story....It seems they fixed it with patches somewhat for Orgins but its back in Awakenings.
Being able to edit your armor, fully. Seriously, this would be the best feature. To being able to upgrade your armor or personal forged sword. Only thing I like about Fable 3 so far is the fact you get you're own sword that grows with you. It's a good idea to have a sword you can work on and upgrade and increase it's power. One thing I felt bad about with Sten, he has his sword which is everything to him but it can't be upgraded and it becomes useless.
Oh and New Game Plus, seriously why did you leave it out of this expansion?

I just don't want another Awakenings. While it's a good expansion to current content, I'm currently viewing it as a that one or two family members some folks have. We'll call them Uncle Carl & Cousin Steve. Now, Uncle Carl's a nice guy & all, he's just been in an out of prison most of his adult life due to being a burglar, while Cousin Steve is a raging alcoholic. The rest of the family is a tight knit bunch of upstanding, quality folks in which anyone outside of this family looks in at them saying "Wow, that family of theirs are a great bunch of people. Cept for Carl & Steve."
I think we know who is Bioware's "Uncle Carl & Cousin Steve".
