I have fps problems too. the game is basically unplayable no matter how low I set the resolution and details.

i have t9300 2,5ghz duo, 4gigs, geforce9650m gs

that would be your bottom of the barrel graphics card, causing that. should probably upgrade.

@CmdCool : Yeah, I 2nd that. Almost all newer games nowadays use the 3rd and 4th cores. Also, even if you got more than 2 cores and a game does not support more than 2, it will only be an issue if your core speed is low, ie.: a dual core running at 3.0Ghz will beat a quad core running at 2.6Ghz if multi-core is unsupported.

But according to different game tests Dragon Age scales very well with multiple CPU cores.
I am running the game on  a Phenom II X3 720BE@3,5GHz with a Radeon 4870 under Win7 32bit
and discovered no problems so far.

Yep, my Bad.

If you're using ATI Tray Tools, try uninstalling it temporarily.

i have no idea what this is, i maxed out every single graphic setting, including AA running at 1680x1050 and the fps didnt drop at all, it just stays at 15-20fps no matter what i do.

i been playing with all of it for the 3-4 days, trying all kinds of different ****.

Ive reinstalled drivers, ive checked every last meter i could to see if anything was being maxed out and bottlenecking.

I did notice 1 thing, in my ati overdrive section the activity meter of my card is always at 0% when playing (it hits about 40-50% on loads)

I want to add im a very avid gamer and have no problems with any other games currently.

Perhaps is a dumb question, but how do you measure your exact FPS ingame?

I use fraps and ZD game recorder,( no im not recording while i do it)

I even flashed my bios today. Nothing is helping, it maintains the same fps no matter what.

Also, even if fraps is wrong, and ZD is wrong, it doesnt take a rocket scientist to see that the game is choppy and lagging, if u said i was crazy for seeing lag at 30fps, id say maybe, ok you might be right, but 15-20 fps is VERY noticeable, and in a game like this, unplayable.

I didnt use fraps or ZD soft to check fps TILL i saw how terribly choppy and laggy it was.

I cant get past the part of the game called "ostagar"(i think thats the name).

As i walk past the bridge where **** is blowing up and on fire, it still maintains the same fps, 15-20

if i start a new game, and im in a room all alone not moving, 15-20 fps.

Just throwing it out there: Have you tried reinstalling the game?

I'd try re-installing the game. I have no FPS issues whatsoever, so if you have a decent PC then just re-install. Otherwise, upgrade.

Your problem is either trolling, or easy.
turn off v-sync.

I don't believe I'd call 30 fps a "problem" with everything turned on...

sounds like your hard drive is dying then?

I got a Intel core 2 duo, 8800 GT, running 1680x1050, max graphics, perfectly smooth.

This game doesn't have crazy system requirements.

so hes saying to just reinstall it XD?

my problem is that it gets slower the more NPCs are on screen. I have

AMD phenom quad-core 2.40 ghz

8gb ram

Vista 64

Nvidia 9100 GeForce...

im pretty sure I should be able to play this game normally without it lagging everytime theres more than 3 NPC's on my screen, or in certain areas.

ya card is ya weak link m8,but id say it should run this game maybe not with AA etc but the game is said to be CPU intensive not GPU.

yeah, its definitely the card. sorry to say, but you are gonna need an upgrade if you want to play smoothly.

Edit: nice card right here http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814130468 and not too expensive.

Just so you know you need to learn exactly what Vsync does and how it affects performance in video games. Becuase this statement is completly off base. Here educate yourself, free of charge.

Sorry but i know all about vsync,if i HAD vsync on with triple buffering + a refresh rate of 60 my FPS would cap at 60 which is what i said,Here from your own link..(The first noticeable impact is that your FPS becomes capped at a maximum equal to your current refresh rate. So if your refresh rate is 60Hz for example, your framerate can now only reach a maximum of 60FPS.If you find your FPS has halved, you should then specifically try enabling Triple Buffering, as this can help fix the FPS drops related to enabling VSync)This is what i said you need to know what your onabout before trying to be clever so here is a lesson for you FREE of charge.

Just make sure it is not Seagate Barracuda 7200.11. Most of them tend to break within a year ;)
