This forum is for players to compare the variations in level up tactics, when completing ME2 on INSANITY difficulty. I am only interested in Shepard's character class(es), and the Powers used. For Squad mate upgrades, see my other forum (coming soon). Posts should ONLY be forwarded if you HAVE completed the game on insanity. But anyone can look for TIPS.

I have completed insanity with two characters classes so far, (Soldier and Adept). And I am currently playing through as a Vanguard. They are all imported characters and as with ME1, Adept is my favorite.

It will be interesting to see how other people go about the game....

Comments and opinions on other people's choices are welcome. As are any comments on why you use a particular Power.

When providing your details start with Gender, class, and level achieved (Upon completion). Then outline the Powers in the order they appear in the game. Indicate the rank of the power in backets next to it. On EVOLVED powers, enter the chosen upgrade c/w rank, so we can tell if anyone is lying.

Here is my Adept profile. I'll post the other two shortly (MW2 permiting). Note it is at level 29 (achieved just before final show down). Hopefully with the add-ons, I'll be able to get this character to level 30.

Female Adept         Lvl 29.

Heavy Warp (4)
Throw (1)
Heavy Singularity (4)
Pull Field (4)
Shockwave (2)
Nemesis (4)

Barrier (3)

I would always recomend choosing a form of protection for your extra power (unless engineer), and mapping it to either LB or RB. This comes in handy when under heavy fire and you need to get to cover. A quick protection boost can be the difference between life or death. I chose Barrier (off Jacob), because I used the same principle for my ME1 Adept, and she already had it. For Soldier I chose Geth Shield (Legion) and for Vanguard Fortification (Grunt). It just seemed right. Also if you are not a Soldier I'd always recomend selecting the assault rifle as the additional weapon. The rest don't cut it in my opinion.

I disagree about the protection power. Investing too many points in a bonus power, in my opinion, takes from the strengths of the class, except for role-playing purposes.

The protection powers simply have too long of cooldowns for the caster classes, where you need to be constantly firing off your debuff or damaging powers.

Shield drain might be better for the Adept. And I also disagree that the AR is always the way to go. With the Infiltrator, it might be a better idea to take the widow. The Vanguard will definitely want to consider the Claymore. The Engineer does really well with the Viper Sniper Rifle. The Sentinel does really well with the Shotgun.

All a matter of opinion of course, but AR isn't always the best choice.

I used Infiltrator and the X+A advantage on XBOX.
