I put before us this pledge, that until Bioware adds in a "Let Mhairi Live DLC" that a boycott should be put on Dragon Age 2 which comes out next year. This is the only way I see that we can send them a message. They shoudln't have included her in their advertisement if she wasn't going to make it past the first 30 minutes!

Edit Note: Oh forget it, I just might get DAO - 2, but only if it gets above an 8.5 and clocks in atleast 50 hours.

As much as I wished for Mhairi to live, all the people asking for ridiculous DLCs is.. ridiculous. Not everything can be a dlc.

They used her in their advertiesment, had her on their website, we were promised that we would have her as a character. They didnt do this for Leski, Jowan, Ser Gilmore, Ser Jory, Daveth or anyone - face it we got screwed! Did you see these faces decorating the main website as permanent characters?

I wonder if people would be this up in arms about Bioware's decision to troll it's fan base if Mhairi had been a male character instead. Not saying that there aren't people out there who genuinely liked her character and all, but they seem to be out numbered by all the people complaining about losing their potential female tank.
Also $2,500 is kind of a drop in the bucket compared to the costs that were needed to create both the original game and expansion, so you might want to aim a bit higher with your final quota.
Still I do sincerely wish you luck in your endeavors - though I find it a tad excessive and sincerely doubt anything will be done about it. It would be rather game breaking to just revive her like that.

They had every right.

All they said was that she would be a companion in the game, and she was, you assumed that she would last you the entire game, and thats entirely your fault, not Biowares.

Do you really want everyone to survive the Joining? Everyone ****es that Mhari dying is just terrible writing, but really, how is that worse writing then having every single companion survive a ritual that very few people survive, you don't think that would be even worse writing? And what would you have thought about her if she wasn't added to the companion list, oh yeah, you would have realized she was a redcoat, and was going to die very soon, and wouldn't have cared, so the Joining death wouldn't have had any effect on you, they had to put her up there to get any kind of emotional effect on anyone.

Well what would you expect? If they didn't give her a movie and an approval bar you'd automatically know she was a redshirt.

"Had no right to include her"? Where are you from, Planet Entitlement? BioWare makes the game, they can put in any plot twists they feel like. Based on the number of people crying about this one, it was an epic sucker punch. Well done BioWare, I say.

Its not just about losing her character, its that Bioware went back on their word when they promised her as a main character then threw her out right when we got in. We were promised six characters, and we as customers have the right to object.

Well I won't be buying their next game. Awakening has killed the franchise for me, but I don't think a simple DLC will fix it.

I'm just saying asking for DLCs is ridiculous... DLCs only add campaigns and content to a game, and don't change a story. What do you want as a dlc? Mhairi zombie?

No, this should be an emotonal thing for it to be good, its not emotonal its  just that the player has no control over wiether she lives or dies, making her pointless.

No they didn't.

If you can find a sentance saying that Mhari would be fighting the Architecht, helping you defend the lands of Amarinthene, or anything along those lines, yes, they lied to you.

They only said she would be a Companion.

She is.

Your ****ing because you read to much into that and assumed something that isn't true.

We had Gorim from the Dwarf Noble's campaign longer than we did Mhairi, and yet they still include her in their list of characters on the main website, its disgusting!

She died... sorry but she did. Better characters didn't get much more time either.

You got six companions... Sadly Mhairi was the seventh...

We were told 6 compansions, 5 new, 1 old. That means: Nathaniel, SIgrun, Anders, Velanna, Justice are new and Oghren is old. Looks like nothing was much of a surprise.

Even all roles are filled with an Archer, Dagger rogue, Mage, Mage, Tank, and DPS warrior.

Like I give a crud about the Romance, if anything I atleast want her name and trailer to be taken off the main website so as to not mislead any other people.

You do realize that any complaints you send are probably going to get drowned out by all the complaints that were sent in after ME2's release right?
Seriously I'm all for people expressing their displeasure over this and all, but the way you're going about it is a tad overly excessive.

I'm just angry, and one angry person can do less than nothing. Now if you have alot of people angry, alot of unified angry people, then the higher ups start to take notice. They added in a Shale DLC so why not this, is it really too much to ask?

Just saying, if 50 people can do that sort of damage imagine 100, or 1000.

Anyways I've rectified that little analysis.

You aren't going to find a lot of people being angry about this... Half of this forum had already figured out that something was wrong once they announced a seventh party member. Then all the speculation about which NPC would die sorta ended up with Mhairi as the prime candidate.

If it wasn't gonna be Mhairi it would need to be someone else among the party NPCs.. Someone had to die, and of course that someone had to be the woman doing a man's job... Obviously.
