just bought DA Awakenings, loaded it up and imported a character, and was horrified to see that my blood dragon armor and starfang were no longer in my inventory! WTF!!! Also, if anyone has figured out how to use the Manual of Focus to re-spec? for some reason I can't use it! I am playing the 360 version, anyone else run into these problems?
how come I can't!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Check your radial menu for the manual (potions). As for the DLC, go here:

In other words, your DLC items such as Star Fang, and promotional items such as Blood Dragon Armor, will not import. The PC modders have already made a fix for this on the PC version, but BW has made it abundantly clear that they have absolutely no intention of porting over anything that was not in RtO, and that they only did after fans screamed bloody murder. So yes, your naked character with no weapon was actually their design plan. Gooooooooo Bioware!

Those items have been stated to NOT work in Awakening for... oh... three months now? Tons better gear anyway (and in the case of the Blood Dragon Armor, tons better in Origins). BUT Return to Ostagar gear will transfer, and the Dragonbone versions of those items are far better anyway.
For the Manual of Focus, you have to go to POTIONS and drink the book...

QFT.
Seriously, if anybody still has any concerns about the DLC gear, I went out of my way to carry an obscene amount of stuff into Awakening. And then twenty minutes in, I sold everything I'd been hording in the party chest in Origins except a few armor sets and anything with sentimental value like Duncan's and Cailan's stuff. The equipment is much, much better, and you can use the cash.

Don't worry about it, you'll find equipment way better than starfang and blood dragon in awakening.

Shoot with some of the new spells and skills the weapons won't really even matter after a while. You can turn into a killing machine no matter what you use.
